I'm a firm believer in preventative maintenance. Cool Wizard has been servicing my A/C for several years, and I have happy with their service. "Cool Wizard" has always been professional. Their "behind -the-scenes" admin, "JoJo" was very responsive and replied to my text inquiries in a timely manner, typically within minutes. "Max" was the assigned "technician of the day" and he arrived in a timely manner. Prior to his arrival, Cool Wizard texted me that Max was on his way, and texted me a picture so I knew who he was! Max checked out the system and reported that the system was basically OK, but suggested a couple non-critical items that I might wish to address in the future, and backed up his suggestions with photos. I appreciated that he didn't try to sell me a new unit, or attempt to scare me with a "gloom -and-doom" outlook. The old "Holiday Inn" commercial said "The best surprise is NO surprise", and there were NO surprises because the bill was $95, which was exactly what I'd been quoted in advance. Tom Terrific here with another honest business review. I had used Cool Wizard when i bought my house so i called them again when it appeared that the A/C was not cooling. Robert came out the next morning and checked it out. Robert had been my service tech before and is a great guy. His expertize is second to none. One of the things i like about CW is that they explain each step and let you know how much it will cost to fix the problem. My A/C needed a new valve and to get that part i had to wait a day. I understand that and had no problem with it. Robert showed up again and installed two parts, a ball filter drier and the afore mentioned valve. I found that Cool Wizard doesn't charge by the hour, Robert said. They charge by the job. As someone who had four successful businesses i understand that. When i had my crew come in to paint a house i gave the homeowner a price on the job beforehand and that was what was paid to me. When i seal coated an asphalt driveway i told the owner how much it would be beforehand. So to replace this valve and filter drier and do all the things necessary to get my A/C running smoothly was $845 plus their initial house call charge of $98. My only thought here was that it was a tiny bit pricey so i gave 4 stars. However, I do not know the going price for A/C repair. Ok, to be on the fair side Robert came here twice and he did stay to do all this stuff for over three hours including figuring out what was wrong, a job in and of itself. He had to add a line to the valve so he did some soldering and used his skills to solder that onto the A/C and did some soldering on the filter drier. He put it all together and tested the system with gadgets that looked like they were from Star Trek. Am i wrong in saying i thought the charge was a little pricey? I'm being honest in my thoughts. Had it been $850 i probably would have given 5 stars. The end result of Robert's work is 5 stars. I know i could not have done it myself. My brother the doctor said, "You are not charged by how long I examine you but you are charged for my KNOWLEDGE in knowing what the problem is and how to fix it." I paid Robert in full. Cool Wizard. Fast. Efficient. Friendly. When the A/C goes out during summer here in Florida, all is wrong with the world. However ... Cool Wizard to the rescue! Less than 5 hours from the first phone call that was placed, to the motor being replaced, to the grand finale ... A/C fully serviced and up and running again. I'd have to say that is a 5-star in anyone's book. So, yes, the service provided by Cool Wizard was fast, extremely fast. The service was incredibly efficient. And the technician was quite friendly and definitely knew what he was doing. I'm a tenant so can't particularly speak to value since landlord paid the bill, but within an hour of notifying my landlord of an issue, they were in contact with me to schedule coming out. Came out same day, diagnosed, tech rold me he had to go to the shop for a part that he didn't have on his truck, and was back out and had it fully repaired by the end of the day. Less than a year old, my 3.5 ton A/C is not removing the humidity as it should. I called Cool Wizard - they said it is not oversized. Cool Wizard came out twice in May, 2019. The first time I asked if maybe they could reduce the fan speed to help it run longer to reduce the humidity better. The person that came out just said it looks like it's running fine, just reduce the temp by a degree. The second time they came out (a week later) they found it needed a recharge. But still the humidity remains in the mid 60's and even got to 80% RH. The third time the owner came out as I mentioned there is now mold around the AC vents and the humidity remains high. He came out and looked at the unit and basically said it all looks good... no solution offered at all. I got a second opinion- the technician from another company did a full analysis and found that basically the unit IS oversized, needs an additional air return and the charge is low. A third company came out - also said the unit is too large. Called the manufacturer and tech support and came up with the best solution. read more

Our A/C system went out today (Saturday) and it was 97F outside! Our usual A/C people had no one to help us until Monday! I am totally happy with Cool Wizard. Their technician, Ramone, did some work on my A/C and air handler just before I bought my apartment, and was back for the regular servicing. He also showed up to fix my botched attempt to install an Ecobee thermostat. I dealt with Mike, remotely, because Covid has kept me away. He had to phone Ramone to find the compressor. I called last week to have my a/c serviced. We have uncommon system in our home. We wanted to make sure that we service it accordingly. I've never used cool wizard air but I was recommened by a friend that spoke highly of them. They worked with me on a time that would work for both of us. I was surprised that someone so honest would come. I assumed that the technician coming would try to upsell on things that I don't need or to tell me that this is damaged when it wasn't. Called Cool Wizard A/C for the first time, as our A/C was not cooling. They were at our door withing 60 min. Ramone, the tech, was very friendly and professional. He was able to get it working and gave us a fair price on replacing it, as the unit is very old. He put everything in writing for us to compare estimates. We really appreciated his honesty. No pushy sales pitches for maintenance contracts or even for a new unit. Just a suggestion and a fair estimate. I like that this company is local and family owned.
