The store has a variety of treasures and everything in there is beautifully restored. Jose was an absolutely pleasure to work with and even delivered next day. You can tell he and his family take a ton of pride in what they do-and it was very cool to learn his parents started the business as an appliance shop, but then found their true niche in vintage and restoration. Vintage Concept recently refinished an old dresser of mine. They did an excellent job. The dresser was falling apart at the joints, cracked in various spots, and the painted finish was peeling. (Don't have photo of dresser before it was refinished, unfortunately.) Because the dresser had sentimental value I decided to refinish it instead of tossing it. Glad I did. Awesome family owned shop in Hwood! I was so impressed at their selection and fair prices. I learned that they also will deliver for a nominal fee. The brothers who manage this shop know their stuff! Their father also has a space across the street. I believe this shop also does rentals so if you're a creative or perhaps staging needs, this could be a great resource for you. Additionally, they are skilled reupholsters! Shops like this reinforce the ideal that you do not need to buy new!!! I was on the lookout for an awesome desk, and Vintage Concept delivered! I visited a few times before making a final selection, and I was impressed with their curated furniture collection. I also appreciated how responsive their staff was to questions via Instagram. When I made my selection, setting up delivery was simple. On the day of delivery, there was great coordination in terms of confirming the delivery time, and the delivery process was very thoughtful (including thinking through how to arrange the office space once the desk was installed). This is a lovely shop with lots of stunning furniture to catch your eye. Ray and Jose are both delightful and friendly. I think I met their mom and she was great too. I bought a vintage bar chair that I couldn't pass up. It looks terrific in my little Hollywood bungalow. I read the reviews on here about reupholstery and decided to go for it with my very old chair. Wow! Check the before and after photos. They did such a good job and a bit of restoration without compromising the comfort of the chair. It's beautiful. This anecdote might not be relevant, but I really appreciated the young man who was running the shop the other week when I stumbled upon it. Just my luck, while walking from my car to the shop and absentmindedly taking pictures of the wheatpaste/bill postings lining the sidewalk, a loiterer shouted, "You better not take any photos of me, you [expletive]!" Just a few more words were exchanged when the Vintage Concept shopkeeper soon appeared (maybe anticipating a visitor as I called to ask about parking beforehand), promptly collected me, ushered me inside his store and no sooner than it had occurred did he remove me from the commotion. And he offered many kind reassurances not to take any of the yapping to heart, which came off as genuinely sincere. Inside I found a pretty eclectic mix. In addition to mid-century modern and other trendy styles of furniture, there were some deliciously gaudy one-of-a-kind things, things that would almost appeal more to one's sense of humor than their aesthetic taste, and items that will serve as great "conversation pieces" when they find homes. I loved the Lego phone and the seashell curio shelves/case, but when I peeked at some price tags, I realized I was definitely just a window shopper that day :-P Nevertheless, it's a cool space to visit, almost having the vibe of a prop warehouse and workshop in addition to being a vintage shop. I'd be curious if it's a go-to rental stop for set designers considering the area and given the stuff is bit more distinct with a bit more character than what I've seen at other vintage shops. read more

Cool location with a great variety of vintage furnishings ! Shops are ran by 2 brothers , both great guys! Extremely helpful! Anything you need just ask, they make you feel comfortable to be in their shops. There are two shops right next to each other. Each shop has its own unique vibe to it. One seems like the furnishings a little more high end than the other. All in all, a must stop by if you're looking for some sort of furniture. Oh!!!! And they offer upholstery, so if you've got something that's trashed but the bones are in good shape, they can re-upholster it for you! Really cool! 5 stars. read more

I have been looking for a very specific table for years. When I found a round, extendable, walnut table at Vintage Concept it was not yet restored. I talked with Ray who showed me the leaves which had obviously not been used as much as the table and ensured me the full beauty of the table would be brought out through their restoration work. Wonderful store comprised of two adjacent storefronts with an awesome selection! Most pieces have been lovingly restored with great attention to detail. We found a unique midcentury extendable dining table with six chairs that the owners beautifully curated to go together. Jose went to great lengths to make sure the refinish color matched throughout. We so appreciated his attention to detail! The owners' care and pride in their products was apparent. They delivered the items and set them up in our home. It was a smooth process from beginning to end. The best part was working with this family owned and run business, knowing that our money will stay in the community and go directly to them, not a large corporation. It felt good to give a new home to a previously loved item and to avoid cutting down trees for new products made from virgin wood. This shop will be our first place to look for other furniture items! My husband sent me up here last week to "find some knick knacks" for our new house. As soon as I walked in I pretty much wanted everything in the shop. It was my first stop on an all day LA vintage furniture tour and is probably the best curated vintage furniture store I've visited. I had to go back for a beautiful bench that I hesitated buying cause "I can't get something at my first stop already right?" Also found a pair of gorgeous lamps that I didn't see the first time. I went in a couple of weeks ago looking for a really specific and rare piece of furniture- a European hideaway table. The guy working immediately knew exactly what I was referring to and said he didn't have any in stock at the moment, but he had been talking to a woman on OfferUp about acquiring hers. Purchased an exquisitely restored sofa from Vintage Concepts in October. My living room is really oddly shaped, and I was able to find the most perfect 7 foot long, 1960s midcentury number. Definitely the coziest couch I sat on (I was languishing over this couch purchase) and the upholstery fabric that was chosen completely conceals any marks my baby kitten may leave. I discovered this store in 2019 when I drove by it. I stopped in and thought they had an array of interesting pieces in the shop. Since then, I've been in many times and the brothers are very helpful and informative. I've missed out on a few things I wanted because I didn't get there fast enough after they were posted on IG, but that's my fault. Finally, I bought a great solid teak desk and Paul McCobb chair for my home office. After looking for a desk for a year, I felt the one I bought was really well priced and of good quality. The chair was a bonus since it had just arrived in the store and was so unique I couldn't pass it up. Because of the nature of piece, the brothers - Jose and Ray - delivered it themselves, which involved carrying it up two flights of stairs. I only waited two days for delivery, which I think is incredibly fast. They were on time, the piece looks great, and they are super nice guys who want thier customers to be happy. It is definitely worth the drive (I'm in Santa Monica), and you should follow them on Instagram. They are very responsive to questions submitted to their account. If you see something you like, get over there quick because they price things fairly and they go fast.
