We were greeted by a friendly person behind the counter, who did a great job of explaining everything they had to offer and making suggestions as it was our first time there. The way they are different is they make a plain cake donut that you then can create however you like using their vast toppings bar. When you walk in its has cute high bar seating and an ordering area. There is a section where you customize your doughnut. The staff were very helpful and patient as I took forever making my selections. There is a base doughnut and you choose your frosting or glaze and a topping. The glaze selections were chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, maple, and original glaze. We chose chocolate with oreo and peanut butter drizzle. First bite was amazing! The doughnut itself was a little crunchy on the outside and so soft on the inside. The chocolate frosting wasn't too sweet. I would have loved to eat 10 more. This was my first time "creating" my own donuts so it was very enjoyable. They sell donuts as singles as well, which I liked having this option. We visited the area for spring break and were told by a local shop owner to try this place out. So, on our way out of town, we decided to give it a try (we also love donuts). The decor channels a bit of nostalgia of the past and the bar fill off candy makes you feel like you're in an old pharmacy or soda shop. This gem of a Cafe did not disappoint! It was quiet for 930am, but it was raining outside. There is a very simple, straightforward menu posted on the wall & the lovely employees behind the counter were happy to explain the concept. Vanilla cake donut, pick your glaze, your topping, & drizzle. Simple as that. Brilliant!! We sat at the counter, being the only patrons inside, and were able to enjoy our donuts still warm. What a lovely bite of heaven it was! The donut was crispy on the outside, super soft on the inside. And the glaze was not too overpowering, so it was a perfect balance of flavor. Mine was chocolate glazed with graham cracker dust. We also did a strawberry with fruity pebbles which tasted as good as it looked. My kids indulged in chocolate with rainbow sprinkles, chocolate with mini m&m's, and chocolate with mini chocolate chips. Talk about sugar overload!!
