Tried the Keto donuts! They were excellent. Very moist, but more like cake. We tried the chocolate and the cinnamon sugar. The keto donuts all have vanilla donuts as a base, so the chocolate donut was vanilla with chocolate icing and sprinkles. The cinnamon sugar was the best. Unfortunately, because keto donuts aren't highly sought after, the variety is small, and each donut was $4. You probably don't want to try it if you don't like coconut, because the donuts have a faint coconut flavor. read more

I went in here while my husband was in the pool store to get us two donuts. My favorite is a jelly doughnut and they were out of jelly. They had a huge selection for Fourth of July weekend. They were red white and blue colors. They had one Boston cream left and that's my husband's favorite. I asked them what they had in terms of jelly donuts and they didn't have any but they said they could make me one, and they literally just made me a jelly doughnut. It took less than three minutes. Parlor is my favorite local doughnut shop, with multiple locations in the Jax metro. They offer doughnuts, breakfast sandwiches, coffees and their recently launched savory doughnuts. They also offer doggy doughnuts for your fur friends. Their doughnuts are excellent, but taste is more like fried dough from the carnival. I love them but some people may prefer more cake-like doughnuts (dunkin style). The new savory doughnuts are also pretty tasty - I tried the Hawaiian BBQ chicken recently. I don't love ordering coffee drinks at Parlor. Often if you get something with Espresso, it get's stuck in a long queue because they only have one barista and espresso machine. Their drinks are also just average - nothing special. Most of the staff at Parlor are young and still learning, but friendly enough. If you dine in at the Fruit Cove location, be aware that seating can be limited inside. They do have additional seats outside when weather is nice. read more

First time trying Parlor Doughnuts and let me just say they did not disappoint. Not your original looking donut but they taste amazing. They are more of a croissant style donut but Beautifully put together. They have amazing flavored donuts. Quite a plethora of variety. The service was pretty good and very helpful from the person taking our order. They have an inside and outside seating arrangement which is always good. A little outside of a donut prices but they're an out the box doughnut so I'm all for it. Inside my box I have a Peanut Butter Cup, Maple Bacon, Turtle Cheese cake, French Toast, Boston Crème, and can't remember the last one. But they are all very delicious. read more

We stopped in for a couple of donuts to go. We were immediately greeted by staff and were asked if we had any questions. I wanted a strawberry shortcake and a caramel bourbon. I'd been to Parlor in Panama City Beach and loved it. The donuts were delicious here. The parking lot was very crowded and has an awkward curve turning in. I somehow missed reviewing this place so let's set that right! I grew up with Ma and Pop donut shops being the norm, so really don't love the big chain places that don't even bake them locally anymore. We've been going to Parlor occasionally since they opened and they have a good product. It's not traditional like the maple bars or apple fritters I grew up eating, but they are fresh, and when cooked the right way are really pleasing - kind of light (relatively speaking, I mean, it IS a donut). Minus one star because sometimes they aren't cooked as well and can be a bit doughy in the middle. Those days I eat the edges which are still good. The minis are a great way to avoid this, also - and I especially like the coconut ones. Boston cream, maple, cinnamon churro, all the flavors are great and I love the less common ones too - haven't tried many but lavender honey is so good. Parlor Donuts definitely has some tasty options, but our first visit had a hiccup. We ordered two bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches, and when we got home, both were missing the bacon. The flavor was still really good--the plain donut they use as the "bread" is amazing--but definitely a little disappointing to have the order wrong. We also each tried a donut, and while they're definitely on the sweeter side, they were still super tasty. If you've never had the pleasure of partaking in one of Parlor Doughnuts genius creations, I'll tell you this much....it's NOTHING like a typical Doughnut, or even the over-hyped, annoyingly cliche Cronut. This goes SO many levels beyond what any first-timer would expect or even dream of. I've been to both locations, but this one, which has quickly become a fixture in St. Johns County, is my favorite. Pro Tip: IF you DARE come here during the weekend, get here EARLY. With greatness comes popularity, and it's worth setting an alarm to have first pick of the goodies. The Noms: I've tried a good variety (for research purposes....of course), and my standout favorite is the Churro. Grab a handful of napkins before you dig in. It's generously bathed in cinnamon-sugar and chocolate ganache, but it's SO worth the mess. On my most recent visit I stumbled upon their seasonal offering, The White Christmas Doughnut, which is lusciously coated in white chocolate ganache, holiday sprinkles, and a white chocolate covered pretzel. It's truly fascinating how many delicate, flaky layers they manage to fit into just one Doughnut. Delicious, scrumptious, mouth-wateringly satisfying. While I'm not a big coffee drinker, I spurged and paired it with a cool, crisp White Christmas Iced Latte, festively garnished with whipped cream and white chocolate chips. Surprisingly not too sweet or overpowering, but quite refreshing. And So: Just GO. 5 stars isnt enough, and for those with dietary restrictions, ill let you know that they have Vegan, Gluten-Free, and Keto options ready and waiting. You're welcome. So before I get into the donuts, this is what we ordered. From top left to right Blueberry, caramel bourbon, strawberry glaze, cinnamon toast Middle left to right Pistachio strawberry, turtle cheesecake, vanilla glaze, maple bacon Bottom left to right Strawberry shortcake, coconut creme, chocolate glaze, maple pecan While these donuts look like they would be heavy and super sweet, they are not. The dough reminded me of a croissant more than a donut. It was light, fluffy and flaky. Most of them were not filled, which was a plus for me as I feel that it sometimes makes the donuts overly sweet. The topping added just the right amount of sweet to that savory dough. Don't get me wrong though, while they aren't an immediate sugar high, these bad boys are HUGE! We cut ours into 4 so we could each try a piece, and after 4 different pieces, I was stuffed and needed a break. We'll try round 2 later. Holy donut! This place is incredible. Get ready to spend some money, get messy and stuff your face. The donuts are massive and taste like a cross between a thick cake donut and croissant. The girl behind the counter knew I was having a hard time picking a donut for my 4 yr old daughter. She said this was the perfect donut for her, but you have to ask for it since it's not on the menu. Walked in and immediately was nicely greeted :) So many super yummy options! Had a hard time deciding but ended up going with French toast, cookies n cream, campfire, lemon bar, and two cinnamon sugar minis for the kids. Kids hated the minis- but their opinion doesn't matter too much. My husband also didnt love it but only because it was more of a croissant type dough vs pillowy dough. The other donuts were fantastic I think everyone's favorite is the French toast! So good! I appreciate that I wasn't overly sweet and tasted like it was good quality. It's FriYay, my day off and had some down time. So I was in the area and decided to swing by Twisted Compass Coffee Shop and low and behold, it's now occupied by Parlor Doughnuts (insert "mindblown"). So I decided to check them out. Parlor Doughnuts newly opened on 5/19/2022. They specialize in layered doughnuts aka known as CroNuts aka hybrid Croissant+Donut, new concept, craft donut in the area. The shop also carries small breakfast item menu, which includes Acai Bowl, Oats, Breakfast Items. There's some Vegan and Gluten friendly items as well as Keto Doughnuts. They even have doughnuts catered for our 4-legged fur babies aka Dog Doughnuts. I ended up trying out their best seller, the French Toast. Loved it. A totally different taste from yeast or cake donuts. The frosting tasted abit sweet dough...I mean "though" All in all.... DONUT be afraid of calories. Swing by The Parlor. This replaced Twisted Compass which was a local coffee shop. We had visited once and weren't impressed so that was our only visit. Today is the grand opening and this place was running pretty well with a solid flow of customers. I'm assuming most of the same staff from the prior business was still in place so they worked well together. While this is a chain, their boutique doughnuts are well executed. They call them layered donuts and that's fine but these are substantially-sized-light-and-airy-croissants topped and/or filled as fancy donuts. Fairly priced this place should do well as long as they stay consistent. I envision lines out the door over the next month or so with the power of social media. read more

Parlor is known for their "layered" doughnuts. They are light, flaky, and served warm with toppings. The base of all the "regular" donuts is the same, which is nice because they can make more throughout the day, rather than running out. I approve. At the moment, I have no favorite. The carnival (vanilla glaze with sprinkles), maple bacon, and strawberry shortcake were all so heavenly. I also had a bite of the double chocolate, which was good. The raspberry filled with powdered sugar was almost like a beignet. Delicious. We actually went twice in the same week: the first time I brought home treats for the family with an iced coffee (super yummy). And the second time my husband brought home a dozen for the week, as well as more for our friends. Their daughter is gluten free, so he got a GF option for her (she loved it).
