This little shop had so much to offer. A tremendous selection and variety of great music across all genres, at reasonable prices. Helpful and friendly cashier and great customer service. This shop had no A/C running and it was extremely warm and stuffy inside. So maybe an early morning visit is probably best when temperatures reach over 85. read more

Was given a gift card to Spindles and came to check it out. Place is hidden for starters, not easy to find at all. Finally found it, and WOW! So much inventory. Wasn't really what I was looking for but if you are looking for vinyl, DVDs, and a ton of stuff to look for, this is your place. The selection of vinyl of any type of music is outstanding. The owner is very helpful and extremely knowledgeable. I like the variety of music from the 60's, 70's and 80's. If you like The Beatles, The Who and on and on over each of these era's Spindle Music Shack is the place to go. When it comes to pricing, I have found everything to be affordable and fairly priced. There is always specials/discounts available. Beware, the store is full to capacity, move around space is limited. read more

The lady behind the counter was aloof with me when I entered the store, but I carried on to check out their huge inventory and was impressed with their collections of records, CDs, and DVDs. I found it difficult to read some of the titles from a distance from the wall, and the DVDs were stacked sideways, which made no sense. And yes, as others have mentioned, it's too hot to stick around after a while. The store has outgrown its capacity over the years, making it difficult to move around. A bigger store would make all the difference to this wonderful collection. read more

We came up here to find some awesome records while on our way to a concert, and boy, did we! R.J. was very helpful and you can tell that he truly loves what he does, and his customers too. This place has it all - 8-tracks, Baseball Cards, CDs, DVDs, VHS tapes, Vinyl, and more, all at a reasonable price. He gave us expert instructions on how to keep our vinyl safe on the trip home as well. This is a fun way to spend a Saturday afternoon, listening to great tunes while you browse through stacks of records and go back in time. Remember when? read more

They have quite the selection of CDs, which is what we came in looking for. Although I have been in here a few times over the years, it had a been a couple since I felt the need to get some new (old) material for my car (yes, some of us still have CD players). I had planned to pick up maybe two (2) CDs, but then I started seeing some of my favorite groups in stock. Damn it, I ended up walking out of there with five (5)... LOL The CDs are not in the CD holders, obviously because of thieves. They get the associated CD from behind the counter when you take them up for purchase. The CDs were clean and in good order, for those concerned about possibly getting scratched or dirty CDs. This place has been in business for quite awhile, so don't fret they will try to sell you something damaged or inoperable. The female (co-owner) behind the counter was not "rude" to us, as some thin skinned people have complained about in their reviews. She's not necessarily there to makes friends and neither were we, so I was satisfied with her business approach. She was polite and that's all I can ask for. read more

Remember when you were younger and you had a couple of bucks in your pocket? If you were like me, I could not wait to go down to the local record store and see what I could find. This is that kind of place. Good vibes, cool music playing and RJ. I found some replacement vinyl and some things I did not know I wanted. Prices were reasonable and other customers were chill. After I paid for my stuff, RJ tells me , remember to play it loud so my neighbors can hear it. Mission accomplished! read more

So I've gotten a few records here over the past few months and here's my honest review. It's pretty much a gamble with what you get and I'm not sure if there's even a return policy. I've gotten a few records some that had no skips/repeat stops and others that did. It does tend to get pretty hot in the store which does become a bit ironic because they tell you not to leave it in the car because of warping. I did notice some fans in the store more towards the cashier rather than the vinyl. Also, the blonde lady I've been reading about in earlier reviews is still there and does sometimes come off as rude. It's a bit weird that they have a huge like barrier between the cashier and the customer and they tend to stay behind said barrier even if you ask for help. On a positive note, there IS a large amount of records here but like I said, it's a gamble. read more

They have a good amount of selection of vinyls and movies, vhs, CD's. But giving it a 3 due to such a weird vibe. The owners make me feel like why are you shopping here? I see some reviews that say owners friendly but have been coming for over 5 years and had the same vibe from owners. We love to go to Old Town Records better. read more

Don't trust the posted business hours. I've been going there for a few years The guy who owns it is really nice, but I've gone there several times well before the closing time and as I'm walking to the door they close the door just before I can get there and they close early. It's a waste of my time and gas to get there and it's unfortunate. I don't know if I will return because this has happened at least 4 times and I'm over it read more

Prices are a bit high for their used cds. I'm wondering how they set their price points. Take for example Justin Timberlake's "Justified" marked at just under $8. You can purchase the same cd on Amazon for a penny+shipping. I think that should be addressed soon. They have hundreds of used vinyl, dvds and vhs tapes as well. It may not appeal to the younger generation but for those 30 and above you may find something to your liking. If you can get it at a good price... read more

I live locally and finally decided to check this place out. I took my 11 yr old daughter with me and we ventured in and began exploring the bins of records. The selection was surprisingly good. We had fun bouncing around throughout different genres of music and both found some gems we liked. I've read numerous reviews that claim the owner(s) weren't friendly and borderline rude. Not the case in my experience. I was greeted when we entered by the lady behind the counter and she was very friendly when we completed our purchases. This is a great local brick and mortar record shop. Spend some time flipping through the bins and you'll probably find some great values. I purchased several 60s era first release psych LPs and they were as near mint as you can get. The prices were fair, given that this is not a Hugh box store, what you pay for a record that is long out of print is very fair. I recommend checking them out! read more

Hey. It's in Temecula. We take what we can get. I will agree that some of the pricing needs to be adjusted since Amazon, Etsy, and eBay have a better selection/pricing and speedy service. However, this is not the place to go if you're trying to find something specific. That's why you have the online retailers or you trek out to SD or LA. It's small and it smells like what record store should smell like. For it's size (and location) it actually holds quite a lot and for people like me who need instant gratification, it works. I found some Sugarhill Records and Falco (Rock Me Amadeus and Vienna Calling singles). Shut up and take my money!! read more

I have always loved this store. I spend a lot of money in here. I decided to go through my collection and sell back some DVDs that I don't watch and maybe - someone else is looking for! We brought in a bag and the attitude was very different. I guess since them giving away money isn't as good as taking our $80. It really makes me never want to shop here again. I've spent a lot of money here! I really enjoyed your business until you gave us an attitude for selling DVDs back. Not to mention you gave pennies for good titles. It's fine - I know the game. Spent close to 2 hours in here the other day. It's very organized and the owner is so helpful. It is a little crammed in there when there are several groups so if you don't like people in your way or having to say excuse me all the time, you'll be fine. I recently got a record player and this was the first time I'd been to a record store. They do sell record players as well but a bare minimum. Of course newer records can be pricey, but from what I saw the used records that were in good condition were slightly lowered in price, but I made sure to price check other places too before purchasing. They also have a cheaper section of older records for about 99¢ or $2 also mystery bags, which I think is a cool concept (hopefully in good condition). Also they have a section for 45's that are all 99¢ and so organized. Can't wait to go back after the holidays I go spend some money in these sections. read more

Temecula has a record shop again! Spindles music shop is filled with bundles of music, movies and rock posters that you are not going to find at any of the new music shops. The owners are great to talk to and have good music playing over their stereo for you to enjoy while finding hidden treasures. Temecula has been void of a great used music shop for about 8 years now. One had to travel all the way to Encinitas to Spin records. Not anymore. Forget the $5 bin at Wallyworld for DVDs, come check out the selection of DVD gold waiting for you to pick out. CDs are plentiful and they have anything you want. Tapes? Yes...they have tapes as well. But their record selection is amazing for a little shop. They also buy DVDs, CDs and records and give you cash or store credit. Not a bad deal and at least you can get something for those DVDs/CDs/records that are taking up space in your room. The only thing I have to take a star off for is location. It is hidden behind Chronic Tacos, so if you don't walk around, you will never find it. It is a good thing that the owner has placed a speaker outside pumping music to the outside world to let people know it's there. But walk on in and talk with the owner. His wife and him are great people and are fun to talk to. You might find some real gold at Spindles as well. read more

Omg this place is a treasure trove of vinyl and movies. I could've spent all day sifting through the stacks and stacks of movies. They're in alphabetical order which is nice and the owner seems to know everything he has in stock so just ask away! Cant wait to go back and see what else I can find. read more
