The coolest place ever ! I found amazing furnishings for my home there I really appreciate that they were flexible and open to letting me make a few payments as my taste out matched my budget a bit I was also extremely impressed with how well they protected the pieces through the shipping process also the gentleman who delivered went above and beyond helping me get it into my house. They took care of everything . I saw them on instagram thankfully I discovered all kinds of goodie's the only bummer is I live so far away really glad to know I can get it shipped to me . Everyone on Reddit recommend Vintage Grind House as one of the best antique stores in Chicago, and they didn't steer me wrong! WOW! The selection is absolutely amazing. There's a real artistic curation to the stock, with everything from modern art to pieces from 1800s France. The atmosphere is incredible and you can definitely spend hours here poring over each piece. On top of this, they are the kindest people ever. I wanted to make "the luckiest day ever" on the day that I proposed to my girlfriend, and they assisted me in hiding some vintage magazines she'd be hunting for inside their store, so she could have them "for free, because they're going to be recycled." They really went out of their way to help me make the day special. The conversations with the staff were so warm and inviting, and we loved hearing about the new location they'll be opening. I had a great experience with Vintage Grind in Chicago. They fully rebuilt a Vanten Mobler sofa from the early 60s for me. The craftmanship and the quality of the new leather hides were outstanding. My MCM sofa was in a sad state. The leather was cracking and discolored, the original down stuffing was shot. The price was reasonable and they were just lovely people to work with. I could not recommend them more strongly when you have high quality piece that needs to be brought back to like new condition by true craftsman. read more

Seller shipped a damaged sofa bed -- the fold out mechanism was non-functioning and jammed, preventing the sofa from properly converting to a flat bed. When confronted (including providing a video showing the problem), the seller tried to deny responsibility and was quite rude on the phone. This is on top of a cushion for the side chair that was not shipped with the rest of the order. First the seller denied any wrong doing but then had to admit that they had lost the cushion in the warehouse; it was shipped several weeks later. Mistakes happen and I tried to work through the problem with the seller, but they refused to provide any compensation for the damaged sofa and tried to deflect responsibility. I have issued a formal complaint to 1st Dibs where I purchased it. I've purchased a lot of vintage furniture across multiple sites and this was one of the worst experiences I've had. I strongly encourage you to avoid this seller. read more

I was sent a badly upholstered couch for over 3k. I left a bad review on Etsy. They proceeded to try and guilt me about it. I said I would take it down if they would make things right. They then called me a scammer and claimed I was blackmailing them. Completely unhinged and the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I stopped fighting the case with Etsy just so this person could no longer sending me crazy messages. It's worth losing all that money just to warn other people about their business. read more

They get 2 starts for creative visual merchandising. That said, the pricing is comical. They're trying to sell used lighting for twice what it would be new from the vendor. And we're not talking an original Flos Arco, we're talking copies. We're talking fixtures that were released in the last few years from brands like Global Views, but for more than new. Like twice the price of new. It's weird. But like I said, great visual merchandising. read more

This business is a scammer which sells through Chairish. I bought a coffee table online which was fraudulently and deceptively misrepresented. It arrived with 2 major cracks across one end that had braces beneath the table to keep the table in one piece. Something had been applied over the finish to hide the cracks, melted during shipping and adhered to the shipping materials. When the shipping materials were removed, pieces of the finish were pulled off. This business and Chairish will NOT give you your money back. read more

What an amazing treasure trove of beautifully restored vintage furniture and accessories. I'm usually not an impulse buyer, but a pair of Adrian Pearsall mid-century modern chairs---beautifully restored with new springs and high-end fabric---caught my eye and I had to have them. Anastasia and her crew were able to have them delivered the very same day. They are gorgeous. Anastasia and her husband clearly have an amazing eye for terrific finds. I love antique shopping, I love furniture and home furnishings and do this more often than I should. That being said, I've been to many of this kind of stores, from very basic thrift like shops to upscale architectural artifacts kind. None of them, absolutely none of them excites me more than this business. The owners are fantastic, friendly, knowledgeable and Joe has an amazing eye for good quality period furniture. In short, assortment is amazing, the quality is great and the prices are fair and far better than many of the above mentioned stores of the similar kind. I love to walk around vintage shops and I came to Vintage Grind House because my friend said, "you have to check them out!!" So I did. I didn't intend on buying an entire new living room set but with their reasonably priced Items, I could not leave empty handed knowing it could be gone. It was a Knoll sofa and a matching love seat for my living room. The set was reupholstered with high end leather, hyde and velvet. I never have seen this kind of a combo and Joe has very unique ideas and a lot of his pieces he creates are just amazing. Joe and Anastasia were a pleasure to work with. Super easy going. You can tell they love what they do and the experience was so pleasant that I can't wait to go back and buy a new dining room set. I have been looking around for dining room furniture for quite some time. I hoped to find pieces that would be interesting and one-of-a-kind. I did my research and stumbled upon the Vintage Grind House. When I entered the store, I truly couldn't believe my eyes, they have the most beautiful and unique merchandise that I have seen in a long time. The furniture is set up in little vignettes and the selection was mind-blowing. The owner Joey was so helpful and it was wonderful to work with a talented person. I bought a Milo Baughman Dining room set; all the chairs had been upholstered with high-end Edelman leather. I got an amazing deal and can't wait to return to work with Joey on future purchases! read more
