I attended a Valentines dance at the Vintage house and it was my first time ever being here. The dance floor is tiles so you do have to be careful that you don't catch your heels on the edges of the tile. They had a food option for people, but I don't like to eat and dance so I skipped the food. Everyone else that got the food seemed to enjoy it. It basically looked like the mass produced food you get at these types of events. Chicken, pasta, canned vegetables, rolls, and salad. The venue had a spacious area for dancing, which is always a big concern when you have like 200+ people dancing. I would come here again for a dance event. read more

What a cool way to do Thanksgiving... We discovered that the vintage house does a Thanksgiving meal buffet. We have been there for banquets and weddings and the was good so we figured why not try them for Thanksgiving. The halls has nice decor and is well maintained. The food was really good with a large variety. The service was outstanding. It cost about $50.00 per person but to show up eat and leave it was worth it - no prep or clean-up. read more

We hosted my mother's repast here and the atmosphere, customer service and food were great! The waitress and waiter who assisted us doing our event were wonderful. Our family has been celebrating Thanksgiving with this establishment fort the past 4 years The food has been great ! The waitstaff has been very welcoming during our visits. The chef's have been very accommodating to our 3 grandsons. The kids ALWAYS want the turkey drumsticks a lot of holiday buffets won't be so willing to share this cut of meat with 3 boys ages 10, 15. &19 Very year the guys clean up to the bone. So holiday that you don't or are unable to prepare that great holiday dinner. Make reservations here They even have holiday dinners you can preorder and bring home .This year there was just my husband and myself. Everyone else had other families/friends to celebrate with.. When my spouse made our reservations they asked how many and of course he said just the two of us-- When we were seated our table was set as "a table for 2 and even a small fresh bouquet on or table and we weren't hid in the back, we were seated very close to the front . We went to the Easter Buffet. The chicken was raw. We were going to let it go but then went for dessert and the ants were crawling all over the table and cakes. My grandson was eating an eclair when we seen the ants. We spoke to the manager. The wait staff took the cakes and were moving them to the other side onto another table. The manager verified with the chef that the chicken was raw and seen the ants he discount the bill stating I owed $115. There was a $50 deposit that was supposed to be held if we didn't show up. They charged me that also so the $115 discounted bill ended up $165. In my opinion this is disgusting! I am thinking about calling the Health Department. Not even a sorry and Damien the waiter waited for me to give him a tip even though 18% gratuity was included on the bill. Would not recommend! read more

They just put out desserts and people had to cut the pies, etc. Most places plate the desserts, cuts down on lines and children making a big mess. I am so Happy we decided to go to Vintage House after looking over the options for Mother's Day. The staff were courteous, the room was clean and the FOOD was so great and plentiful that I went back for seconds. They had a beef carving station and the beef was done exactly as it should be and delicious. All the food was really delicious. I don't want to push for Thanksgiving, but we will definitely be going. We ordered Easter dinner from here and some things were good and some things could have been improved. We ordered two apple pies and they even verified we wanted two apple pies and we ended up with one apple and one cherry pie. The mashed potatoes were really good. Several of the dishes needed more salt including the vegetables and potato salad. The pasta was dry and needed more sauce. I was told the roast beef and sausage was good although I didn't personally try it. read more

I came here for a Wedding reception for my friend. The place had a nice layout for functions. I noticed that there were various rooms and the signage for each were well laid out.There was plenty of room for tables, A bar, Dance Floor, DJ and buffet area. The staff were nice and friendly. The food was great. Especially the Parmesan chicken. Everyone agreed that the food was well prepared although I am not sure that the facilities did this as I am sure it was catered. We went to the Vintage House for a Friday fish fry. The service was good and the venue is nice, but that's as far as I'd go. The food is not cheap for the quantity or quality, and none of it was good. I got the perch, and I'm not sure what it was, but it wasn't perch that I'm used to (maybe Ocean perch?). It is advertised as "fresh yellow lake perch." It also wasn't hot. I got the gumbo, and it was not good and not worth the $5 I paid for it. My wife got shrimp, against my advice, and it was GFS or from a box, and "popcorn" shrimp on top of that. My kids got mac and cheese, and it was normal mac and cheese with shredded cheese on top of it that *wasn't even melted*, which should tell you how hot it was. On top of that, it was $7 and didn't come with anything! I wasn't going to send anything back to get microwaved. The whole dinner was really expensive, and not remotely worth it. On top of that, it took a long time to get our food and we had to ask for bread, it wasn't brought in advance (and making the request even seemed like we were asking for something extra). So my kids had to sit there not eating anything until a we asked a busser for bread. The service was OK, friendly if not really responsive. That's why they're getting 2 stars. The food is a zero. They advertise in the penny saver as "voted the best on the East Side" or something like that. Unless they're talking about the best on the east side of Utica Rd. and Masonic, I'm not sure who would vote them for that. I'm just glad we tried this out before we took the whole family for Easter Brunch. read more

We used Vintage House to cater a company BBQ. The food was fantastic. We had ribs, burgers, chicken and assorted salads and sides... Everybody ate until they were happy and stuffed and there was still a lot left over. The set up was not great. They showed up and proceeded to set up filthy chairs; as I was wiping them down, the young lady sent to help set up told me if I had more wipes she would help me wipe the chairs down... That bothered me because I shouldn't have to clean something we rented and I shouldn't be supplying the supplies to clean it. The young man setting up wore his blue gloves the whole time he was there....including while he ran his fingers through his hair, scratched himself and wiped things down. I don't understand the point of the gloves - unless they were to keep his hands clean. He also helped himself to a plate of food without it being offered. We found that odd and unprofessional. Overall it turned out well. The meal itself was wonderful - but the behind the scenes really need some work. read more

My family came here for Thanksgiving 2018. I have to start by saying I've never eaten out for Thanksgiving so the concept is weird to me. $25 per person plus any alcoholic drinks but also no cooking and no clean up. No leftovers. The waitstaff was absolutely great! The food was typical american Thanksgiving items set up as a buffet. Everything was hot and actually very tasty. The downside is that it was oddly impersonal for a family holiday. We reserved 4 tables, so 40 people. The round tables were set up like a wedding would be. I felt like I was at a wedding where we didn't know anyone. Eating was like a race and when things ran out that's it. Then we were rushed out the door without time to visit with eachother because the room was being cleared for the next group of buffet-ers. Very good service, food was good, but it was rushed. I'd go back if that's when the rest of my family wanted but not necessarily my first choice. read more

My husband a I attended the New Year Eve Party (table 36). I was promised vegan food options for myself. Over cooked flavorless white rice with bland broccoli / baby carrots (THAT'S IT). I paid $85.00 just like everyone else and that's what you served me!! Terrible just pathetic. All the people sitting at our table disliked all the food served for the main course ( over cooked beef , cold mashed potatoes, just ok chicken) THE BREAD ROLLS "BIG HIT". OUR MAIN SEVER WAS AMAZING and tryed to make us happy. The desserts (not vegan) were brought out and I had to ask for a plate of fruit. Don't offer vegan options and not have appetizers / main dish & desserts to offer as well. A few years ago a friend from college held her wedding reception at The Vintage House in Fraser because it was one of the lowest priced options around. The food was not memorable, nor was the facility or it's décor. The one thing I remember vividly that comes to mind every single time I drive by Vintage House is how embarrassed I was for my friend, the bride, because the table and food setup/prep was not complete before guests began arriving. As all of us guests filtered into the reception room, employees were scurrying around, setting up tables and bringing out tall, industrial size, rolling racks with trays (like the ones I remember used for dirty trays and dishes in the college cafeteria) filled with desserts to setup the dessert table. So much for all the money wasted on décor and pretty flowers as the tall rolling racks scattered about the room were what made the first impression and set the mood of the reception. I can't recall if the staff was still setting up tables and displays when the wedding party finally arrived after photos, but I do remember that people were still standing in the entrance to the room because there were more people than tables and no one from the staff seemed to notice that (or care enough to correct the situation). Right after the bride and groom arrived and made their grand entrance into the room, they noticed the lack of seating and counted the tables. The bride said that the facility had not setup the number of tables she requested so she spent the first 10 minutes approaching staff members to request more tables to be set-up. Every time I drive by The Vintage House, I remember the behind schedule setup, the industrial rolling racks, and the seating fiasco as clearly as if it happened yesterday, and I am still embarrassed for my friend. The lessen here is, if you book The Vintage House, tell them that guests will be arriving at least 30 minutes before you think your first guest will actually arrive to ensure all setup is complete and call them a day or two before your event to ensure the number of tables you need is reiterated and acknowledged. read more

A friend of mine had her wedding at the Vintage House... The food was okay. I've been to a few weddings around the Detroit Area, and I would rank Vintage House's food as average. The chicken was good, but the person carving the roast beef didn't seem to know what she was doing; I got two chunks of overcooked beef instead of a couple juicy slices. Veggies were average, but the herb potatoes were really really great. The room setup was nice. The dance floor looked a little old and in need of a good wash or wax... but I haven't been back since they remodeled a bit, so they may have replaced the dance floor by now. The staff were really pleasant, even the bartenders (ohhh I have some horror stories of some weddings downriver and the crappy mean bartenders and their catering halls!). Either they water down their drinks, or they put something in the drinks that makes a person able to drink 10X what they normally can. I didn't stay at my friend's wedding the whole night, but I slammed back almost 20 drinks! Maybe they're small glasses... My friend did say VH cut her a deal on the place, and that was the cheapest she could find in Macomb county without going REALLY low -grade (as in renting a VFW and having the food catered.) I wouldn't have guessed it was THE cheapest place she could find by the way the place looked - it was clean and classy enough. The only thing I would say is, check out the dishes you'd get for your wedding or party before you get them, just in case that particular dish is like the beef - overcooked and cut into chunks. read more

Yesterday, 11/25,2921, Thanksgiving Day, I arrived for my 3:00 p.m. pick-up time at 2:57 p.m. I could not make a left turn off Utica road to enter the Vintage House parking lot since there was a back-up of cars from under the canopy (two lines) all the way to the south end of the parking lot where it became one line back to the entryway to the parking lot. It took 2 hrs. before I had the Thanksgiving dinner placed into my car. I believe that their system of having to load the items ordered, individually, as opposed to having each order boxed and ready to go was the cause of this tremendous breakdown. The food itself was pretty good. Inviting your family for a 3:30 dinner, and not being able to serve it until somewhere between 5:30 and 6:00 IS NOT how I wanted to treat my guests. I think that a large percentage of the people who had to be unwilling participants in this disaster will choose to bypass the Vintage House for any future business. read more

I can't comment on their catering, their event planning, or anything like that. I went there on a random Wednesday night because a friend called me and said "They have trivia here, and I need your brain. Get here immediately." The bar I was already at was a little boring, so sure, why not? Outdoor patio area is nice, drinks were more than reasonably priced, the trivia competition was run by the same person who later ran the karaoke night, and she was nice enough to chat with along the way as well. If you're roaming around in the middle of the week (the outdoor patio gets booked on weekends for events, apparently) and don't feel like sitting inside a bar, this is a perfectly viable option for you. read more

My wife and I had our wedding reception dinner at the Vintage House almost 31 years ago. When we found out that they had a fish fry dinner on Friday nights during Lent, we decided we had to try it. Went for the drive thru fish fry during the shutdown. Bought 2 orders of "sautéed " perch and one order of Calamari. The calamari was really good. The "sautéed " perch was anything but. You could have used it as a spear on a dart board. Totally dry and hard. Crunchier than the fries. Menu is misleading. I also posted a similar comment on their Facebook page and they removed it. Not a way to do business. I would have expected them to reach out and apologize but nope, not a way to do business. Won't be back. The food was good but they need more staff. My wedding was ruined because the sound system on the patio was not working and we couldnt find a staff member for at least 20 minutes when we found someone they didnt know how to work the sound system. i had to call my reception DJ and ask him to let us use his sound system for the ceremony, that delayed the wedding over 35 minutes. There were two other receptions going on during my wedding and their music was so loud that we could barely hear our officiant during our ceremony. One of my guests cars was broken into during my reception and the venue wasn't sympathetic about it at all. I wouldn't recommend this venue to anyone that's having a wedding. Anthony and his team have been phenomenal. My Fiancé and I were set to get married on May 24th and due to Covid-19 unfortunately we were not able to make that date work. The staff was super responsive and quick to let us know all the future available dates that we can change our special date to with no problem. We decided to move it to August 7th in hopes this all relaxes a bit to allow us to have our day! On another note we also had our wedding shower two weeks before the shutdown, and OH MY GOODNESS it was spectacular. We originally had buffet style for the shower and were worried about everyone making contact with the serving utensils and so forth. Without us requesting Vintage House provided us with a full staff to dish out all foods while wearing the proper PPE, and supplied us with additional sanitization products throughout the venue! I would recommend Vintage House to anyone for all occasion. Our guest were blown away with the food especially the Dinner Rolls!!!!!! We cannot wait for our wedding day and feel confident and happy that we chose such a personable and professional venue! read more

We experienced the patio. Which is a great spot to relax, have a drink, appetizer or dinner. We will definitely frequent this place often. My wife and I shared the fish tacos. While I am a little biased as we moved from CA, these were ok. The fish was good, just there was too much of it. I suggest they cut back on the fish - add some more cabbage slaw and it would be a great taco. The sauce is perfectly spicy. They could also use a corn tortilla vs the flour but I'd be ok with a flour if they lessened the amount of fish. Again, we enjoyed it. read more

The food was well seasoned and everyone enjoyed the entree's and the entire spread. The lead for our event, Tracey, provided a seamless, professional and all around excellent service.
