I've been living in Miami for 2 years and I've FINALLY found my salon! --Do you know how difficult it is to bounce around places only to pay an arm and a leg for lackluster work? Vintage Rose 305 is the place you NEED to go to! I found this salon on Instagram and noticed it didn't have a huge following so naturally I wanted to take the chance and try it out. It's the Aries in me! I made an appointment for full highlights. Upon walking in I was immediately greeted by Tiffany. --Who was incredibly friendly and super welcoming. Already liked the vibe. Let me tell you about my stylist Giselle... we immediately clicked! I showed her a few pictures of what I was looking for (brighten up the front, full highlights with my roots still showing through). Literally, a few minutes into our conversation I knew I was in great hands. She told me exactly what she was going to do and that it would look great. Even while she was doing my hair, she seemed so authentic and genuine...I felt like I was talking to a gf from back home. While getting my hair done, a very nice, gorgeous woman approached me and asked if I wanted anything to drink. I'm telling you, everyone here is super social, and their energy/vibes are on another level. Come to find out it's the owner, Erika. A few minutes into speaking with her, I find out my girl is Puerto Rican (like myself) and from NJ (like myself)... I just knew this was the salon for me. The salon has this industrial, boutique-like, feminine yet sexy masculine feel. Confused by my words? Allow me to explain. Exposed brick, sexy leather chairs, high fashion printed canvases hung on the walls, metal tool chests that hold hair supplies, coffee/drink bar.. I instantly felt like I was in a salon in NY/NJ. I recently put my desperately-in-need-of-a-cut hair in Shakarie's capable and friendly hands. It had been years...yes years since I cut my hair. As someone who has donated to Locks of Love 4 times in her lifetime, I am used to having my hair long and flowing. It also means any hairstyle I add to it quickly gets old, because I'm not in the habit of upkeeping it. (Ponytails and buns are the only hairstyle I know how to deal with in humid Miami). I initially found Vintage305 on Groupon, but decided to wait it out as they were a new salon at the time. I followed them along on Instagram and Yelp until I felt confident in venturing to the salon because I was ready for a real style this year. 2020, amirite? I called for an appointment, and they were able to fit me in on a weekend with a male stylist. When I arrived early for my appointment time, the male stylist had just started to cut another customer's hair. The owner apologized and said that she would swap me for Shakarie, who was about 20 minutes from completing her current customer's cut and style. Being a Saturday in a pandemic, I had nowhere better to be, so I took a seat with a glass of water (bubbly was also an option) and fiddled around on my phone. After a photo shoot of the completed hairstyle, Shakarie sanitized her station and ushered me over. This girl is incredible - not only is she nonstop, but she's doing it in heels. After a brief discussion about the low-maintenance style I was hoping for, I agreed to have her chop off 8 inches of my hair. She shampooed, conditioned, and dried my hair with such care, I was in heaven. The cut and style itself took about an hour, and throughout it, Shakarie was friendly, talkative, and put me at ease. (Hey, it's hard to see your hair feather to the ground after years of watching it grow). Afterwards, she also had a little photoshoot outside with my new layers and dimensions - I felt so empowered with less weight on my head, and upon viewing the pictures, I realized she still managed to keep a decent amount of length (but in a healthier way). Prices are incredibly reasonable by Miami standards, and I walked back to my car with a rose in hand. Me time was made special by the wonderful ladies at Vintage Rose. I loved how my hair turned out, and as it's grown out, the little side-swept bangs she had styled are still working for me. I'm excited to be back, though I may go back to old habits and not stop in for another year or two. I had the pleasure of having Shakarie touching my hair. Now, I'm very PARTICULAR about who does my hair and I can say she is very knowledgeable. She made me feel very comfortable moresk that I decided to even dye my hair during the visit. I've gotten so many compliments since getting my hair done. I also don't feel like my hair is going to suffer because she took care of my actual hair as well as the extensions. I lover her energy and within minutes of meeting her. I can tell she takes her craft very seriously. She is super fun and outgoing. Also I love the decor of the salon! Very chic. Very open space concept. There's another hairstylist in there and she's upper nice. She offered me mimosas and water and I wasn't even her client. This brand new female owned and operated salon in wynwood is the bomb. The ambiance, energy and vibe is second to none. My stylist Shakarie is super talented in both color and cut. She was so down to earth and we joked as if we were friends for years. I originally wanted to do a grey ombré type style but, we both agreed that a bold rich violet plum color with dimension was the way to go. They also offered snacks and drinks and sent me home with some goodies too. Finding a great salon that uses quality products has been challenging for me since moving back here from New York. Sunday is my off day so I appreciated that they were open when I could make it there. Happy to say I found my new spot. First I checked their Instagram page, the salon looked cute. Check. Then I stalked Giselle's work - my soon to be stylist. Loved everything I saw. Double check. When I reached out to Erika, the owner, she quickly got back to me, and managed to book me within 2 days time. Check check check. I had such an amazing experience from beginning to end! WOW!!! So, I came in with a huge incident and as soon as I walked in I was treated like their own family literally they gave so much love, so much attention, and Shakerie is out of this world. I love this place so, so much. I came in not even knowing what exactly I wanted, just "curtain bangs" and a trim.... And wow. Shakarie never ever disappoints. Shakarie kept in mind my curly hair and even brightened up my hair with some purple conditioner. When that chair turned around. Oh my GOD. I knew Shakarie would do a good job but I had no idea my hair could even look so darn cool! We both literally started screaming and jumping because of just how awesome it looked---Shakarie is a LEGEND. I've gotten so many compliments and I feel so confident! This salon is always so clean, the music is wonderful, Shakarie and the rest of the staff (Kayla was there yesterday, she is so sweet!) are so welcoming. This is so worth the drive (and there is ample parking behind the salon). I recommend this salon to absolutely everyone. When I first walked in to Vintage Rose 305 I was welcomed by their sweet staff, but I was offered coffee, Champagne & snacks. Their customer service is incomparable! Shakarie is not only a master cutter and colorist, but a true artist. For my initial appointment, she took the time to get to know me and my long lifeless hair. She quickly came up with suggestions and we agreed to take a few inches off, add a few well placed layers and color my hair a rich and shiny brunette brown. My hair feels so healthy, has volume and style that lasts for days. What I love most about Vintage Rose 305 is that all the stylists are educators. I learn something new with each visit. I now know how to properly apply product to my hair, use the flat iron and how to extend the life of my style for days. Many thanks to Shakarie for bringing out the best in my hair and making me feel beautiful! At the end of the appointment I was even given a rose ! I was taxed after payment without consent or knowledge by the owner Erika, luckily I check my bank account often after large transactions. I'm disgusted by the behavior that I witnessed, I don't know what happened to my hair stylist but now I see why he no longer works there. So I initially found them on Groupon, but being a business owner (IG: @nashiico) and running several businesses in the past I know Groupon takes a lot of commission so I went directly on their Instagram @vintagerose305 and loved what I saw! Likeminded business women striving to provide great service and beautiful hair in Wynwood. They recently opened a couple months ago and have already made a name for themselves. I recently moved from Kendall to Downtown Miami and was looking for a hair place that is close and budget friendly. Now I am PICKY. I don't let anyone touch my hair. My hair is long but it is so thin and delicate-- so I researched and watched them for about 2 weeks before making an appointment, shouldn't be so serious for a haircut I know. They honored my Groupon price which was amazing, and they were having a cute event with champagne and a DJ. I loved the vibe and had a great time. Being busy and impatient, I normally hate waiting for things, but time flew by as the owner Erica and her friends came and introduced themselves and made me feel like family. Tiffany was so willingly ready to help and answer any questions I had, such a great attitude and smile! My hairstylist SHAKARIE HAS GIFTED HANDS. Not only did she scrub my scalp and massage it which usually stylists are in a hurry to get you out the door but she educated me on different ways of cutting hair and which one was best for me so I knew for the future. I'm usually the quiet girl when I get in an uber but she had me opening up and talking as she shared her skills and experience, I didn't wanna leave! My hair was down to my hips, I have dry hair and scalp and I'm always working out and on the go so my hair is usually up and grows fast. I'll I tell you most hairstylists get scissor happy but Shakarie cut off just enough dead ends to restore bounce and life back into my hair.
