I do believe they should include that information or just use regular ginger beer. The bartender was wonderful. The place was packed and she did a wonderful job getting drinks out to everyone. Everyone there is friendly. They have a few outdoor tables with ashtrays for smokers. In another area they have it set up for a band where you can bring chairs and food. The farm house is accessible by a gently sloping ramp flanked by living grape vines. The tasting room is small, clean and cozy. Seating extends to a covered wrap around porch and welcoming lawn seating. Handicapped parking is staged near farm house entrance. Parking is free. The grounds are beautifully planted and cared for. The selection of wine ranges from dry reds, dry whites, roses, semi sweets, and sweets. At this time, there is a non-alcoholic Pinot Grigio available. Some snacks, prepackaged sandwiches, and cheese boards are available for purchase. Cheese boards are somewhat expensive because the meats are locally sourced from Smoking Goose and cheeses are more premium. Customers are welcome to bring their own picnics and snacks. No outside alcohol is permitted. On summer weekends, live music is often scheduled. Sitting in pleasant surroundings with a nice picnic and cold bottle of wine is a great way to unwind. Food trucks are often on site offering a varying selection on those weekends. The farm store is on the property. It's currently strawberry season in Indiana. Spencer's lets you pick your own or purchase pre picked berries as available. Baked goods, ice cream, fudge, and cold drinks are among items available.

I guess Platinum Liquors doesn't mind that it's located a stone's throw from a Big Red, and a one-minute drive in all directions from either a liquor store or a grocery store that sells beer, wine and liquor. Maybe this is like when there are two Starbucks in the same shopping center -- more is more, and more is better for everyone's bottom line. In any case, I visited Platinum Liquors a day before its official grand opening. (It officially opens 4/15.) I've been curious as to what it looks like inside, so I popped my head in the door and asked if they were open. They were! I looked around a bit. This store is tidy and organized, and although it is small, it has an OK wine section. I saw a couple of bottles I wanted to try, but they didn't have prices on them yet, so who the heck knew if I was looking at a $10 bottle or a $80 bottle. Instead, I got a canned pineapple wine cocktail job from the refrigerated section, as a show of solidarity and goodwill. It was good but a little too sweet, like those canned drinks usually are. They have lots of cold drinks here, but I didn't see too many snacks or other nibbly things. Platinum Liquors is located right off of a big roundabout on Rangeline and 116th Street. It seems a little confusing to get to at first, but there are two entrances from the roundabout, so if you miss one, you can enter from the other side. You'll figure it out.

All the wine was discounted 20% so I ended up paying less than 90 bucks for 10 bottles of nice wine. The best part of my experience was when the cashier (who I assume was the owner) carried all my wine out to my car for me! He could tell it would be a lot for me o carry, so he picked up the case and walked out with me. All in all, great selection and even better customer service. I will be back!
