Good ambiance, good food, and very good wine!!! It is my favorite and is well located at San Juan Mall. Few minutes from LMM airport.

Their hostess was patient and honestly awesome. After multiple changes to our reservations, we came as a family to remember our uncle who passed away 4 years ago. For the price point, we expected better service at the table. The truth is we had to constantly call for help. The restaurant was not in wish hour, so there was opportunity for proper service. We ordered alcapurrias for appetizers and they were good. The pana tostones were the best I've had in PR. Unfortunately, they ran our when we ordered an additional order. We asked for the bistec encebollado which was nicely presented, but the rice was more al dente than cooked so it was hard and very lukewarm. My uncle had a gazpacho that was in his opinion delicious. The best part of the meal was the bread pudding. It's worth every penny. If I do return, that's what I'll have. The ambiance is chic and cozy. So it's very enjoyable, but they need improvements in service and food. read more

Okay where can I go with this review. 1 Waiters needs to understand what Gluten Free is. Risotto has no flower so it's safe? He said it was pasta and could not eat it. 2 We had to tell him do not add bread to any dishes. 3 We ate some appetizer and we ask for fresh plates witch they brought but did not take the dirty dishes away. We had to ask them to take away the dishes away. 4 Why do they do not have a wine list. I visited Vinus on Saturday, June 28. Sadly, this was just another underwhelming visit -- and probably my last. I've been here a few times before, and while none of those experiences were great, this one really stood out (in the worst way). The service and atmosphere were fine, and the appetizers were decent. No complaints there. The real issue was the New York steak I ordered. It was cooked to the right doneness, but whoever was at the grill completely burned the outside when searing it. The steak had a strong burnt taste that ruined the whole dish. For a place that markets itself as a steakhouse, it's frustrating how inconsistent they are with their meat. After several chances, I think I've given Vinus more than enough opportunities to impress -- and unfortunately, they just haven't delivered. read more

Super expensive. So be forewarned it's a unique experience because you walk into a wine shop and sit down for a meal. You just get up pick your bottle bring it to the table. They have exquisite selection of wines. And a full bar. The food is fantastic! Wicked expensive, but worth it. We were on a girl day out, and I selected a red and a fabulous white, light French Chardonnay. Paired it with a chop salad and mushroom stuffed with chorizo. For the California Cabernet a 1/2 bottle, we enjoyed the Churrasco and cheese empanada, and some goat dumplings. Shareable dishes, delectable flavors. Great service! The food is amazing I highly recommend the salmon. The wine selection is good however as others have mentioned they do charge a ridiculous amount for the cheapest wine you can find at a grocery store that is the wine nobody gets. This is one of the places that has stayed spot on after the Pandemic. The food is exquisite and you can share the plate for 2-3 people! What we have always ordered was still delicious and it saves money we order the skirt steak with fried plantains (Churrasco con tostones) and Puerto Rican Chinese Rice (Arroz Chino Criollo). Stopped by for dinner with a group of friends last night and the dinning experience was quite disappointing. The food was average at best, however the service was really good. We ordered a couple of appetizers for the table. Started with the Spicy wonton asian nachos, the pork belly buns and the veal parmigian lollipops. The nachos were good maybe my favorite dish. The lollipops were ok, the marinara sauce was cold. Pork belly buns were good butv very salty. For entrees the linguini with clams, chorizo stuffed mushrooms and shrimp with mojo sauce. The linguini was disgusting, you can't tell from my photos but underneath the linguini was a ton of oil, I've never seen soo much oil in a dish in my life like I did last night. I requested some parmigiano cheese on the side and the dish came with congealed cheese on it. The flavor was nice but good god it was just soaked in oil. The shrimp was awful extremely oily it didn't have that garlic mojo flavor, bland and average. Mushrooms were alright. Overall the appetizers were better then the entrees. So on to the good... the service was great, our server was very attentive and took good care of us. The many bottles of wine we ordered were very very reasonably priced and also very good. It's such a beautiful restaurant I really wanted to like this place considering Vin'us has adopted the "Bottles" concept. I'm a huge fan of bottles but this place isn't even close to being the same. I am beyond happy we got to celebrate our 24th anniversary there. The location was perfect. The staff was beyond and sitting with reservation was immediate. Michael was our server and he was amazing. The food was delicious and we eat out good restaurants. One of the best steaks I have ever had. To end our night as a thank you and congratulations, w were giving some amazing Chivas Whiskey. Very poor service. It took two hours to get our main dinner. The food is ok, not the greatest. Good ambience but very very slow service.

Bottom line: incredibly disappointing experience service wise for what is supposed to be fine dining (or at least priced as such). Food is average, wine at least is priced well. Will not return. Gluten line: not only met with ignorance, but then with resistance (chef apparently could not be bothered to modify anything). Side note: we were a table of 4 physicians...and all speak spanish. Avoid unless coming only for wine and a steak. Long line: what was supposed to be an upscale dinner with friends turned into an outright struggle. When asked about gluten free options, the server was definitely caught of guard. He stated only the portobello main dish was gluten free, which made us think maybe he thought it was the same as vegetarian. We explained to him we just needed to make sure the food didn't come into contact with anything wheat, barley, malt, flour, etc. He almost had to be convinced to go ask the chef (who we expected to come describe what he could prepare, specially for a $$$$ restaurant, yet never came). He returned stating they could do the salmon, and that the stuffed mushroom appetizer could be done as well. Within 10 minutes, the manager finally shows and informs us that indeed the stuffed mushrooms are riddled with gluten, from the chorizo to the cheese. We inquire about having the truffle fries pan fried in fresh oil as we've had in other restaurants instead, only to be made to feel as if we've just requested their first born. They go back again to "see if the chef is willing" (lol) and tell they'll do it. Meanwhile, 3 of us share a 40z steak ($125), which was delicious. The carpaccio was nothing terribly special. The fries (when they finally came) were very truffly and crunchy. Overall, we spent a solid 45 minutes just trying to eat. We've had an easier time at smaller, cheaper, more tucked away restaurants all over Puerto Rico. We implored the manager to please educate his waiters about allergies and the upper ups to request having the menu at least appropriately labeled. We will for sure not return and I would recommend coming here for the quality of service and food for the prices. read more

The customer service I experienced was very good. They were willing to explain and help the customers regarding menu items. The waiters were very friendly and approachable. We sat close to the kitchen and it seemed fairly clean. However, they didn't seem to be wearing netted hair gowns, and the chefs did have rather fantastic hair styles. I can say they had gloves on. Moving on to the food, it was above average. I highly recommend the bao buns, as the duck filling was really good. Also, the fries are amazing here. Absolutely amazing experience. I am so glad I trusted my gut versus some of the reviews. My husband and I were in Puerto Rico for our wedding anniversary and to visit family, so we picked Vin'us for our anniversary dinner. Soon as we walked in the hostesses were super sweet with their greetings, COVID precautions were visible and there was literally no wait time as we were seated immediately (we had a reservation). Our server was Michael and I cannot say enough about this amazing young man! He made us feel so welcomed and truly went above and beyond to share in our anniversary celebration. He walked us through the process of selecting a wine from their vast collections, which was so much fun. You get to walk around and there are so many amazing ones to choose from that we ended up with two bottles! I highly recommend that you try Laurent-Perrier Cuvee Rose Champagne. Also, Michael made sure our glasses were never empty! Dinner was outstanding and our food was delicious. I had one of the best seasoned and well cooked steaks I have ever had in my life. Went with a group of friends (6) as required by law and was disappointed when I walked in (my friends were seated already) hostess had her mask down and only placed correctly to greet me. They accommodated a group of about 18 to 20 people in 2 tables next each other (including some children). This breaks protocol and exposes all of us and staff. They even made us move our table several feet to accommodate... we will never get out of this mess if people don't follow rules. read more

As a side we went for the Risotto de Gandures. Everything was amazing. The servers are well-trained as it relates to the food and very service oriented. If you are in San Juan, try this place. We had this one waiter who looked like he never slept in his life and he would come to the table every 20 minutes if we were lucky. He would otherwise disappear. There were many empty tables and they had said they were full, and there were so many waiters and waitresses doing nothing, just chatting and having fun. They forget about their clients. All the chefs are also just playing around and socializing only. Everyone seems around the same age, early and late 20s. Again the food is good, but the service terrible. I don't NOT recommend the place, but visit at your own risk, you were warned. (I came at about 5, so maybe at another time with other shifts it is different). When me and the wife heard that American Cut at Mall of San Juan was closing, we were disappointed. Yet after todays visit to Vin'us , which replaced it, we are happy for the change. We would always go to American Cuts hoping to enjoy some good meat plates, unfortunately they never delivered. Vin'us delivered, and then some. The food was delicious and plentiful.
