I'm not a fan of the STK located in Washington, DC, however, the San Juan iteration is so dope, I came here two days in a row.. Lol! The interior couldn't be more swanky. It seems like they put a little more "pop" into this one! South Beach is the one that rivals it. The first day, I came solo because I flew in a day before she did. When I mean the hostess and bar staff treated me like I was a star, I left out thinking I was Denzel.. Lol!! All high end restaurant managers need to fly to this STK and get taught a crash course on how to make folks come back. Because isn't that the secret sauce to restaurant success?!! I think so! My main bartender they called the "Godfather", made my Manhattans to perfection! My blackened Ribeye was sooo good I wanted to order one to go! The next day wasn't planned, but when we had to do a forced pivot move, I suggested we come back for the seafood tower, because they told me it would be too much food for one person. They were right. It was delicious but we did have a little bit to eat first which made us unable to completely finish that seafood masterpiece! We had dinner at STK San Juan and overall the food was very good. The bread that comes out at the start was a nice way to kick things off. My wife ordered the 6oz filet, which was cooked well and very tender. I had the New York strip and it was flavorful and exactly what you want from a steakhouse. We shared the tater tots and the creamed spinach. Both sides tasted good, though they were not very hot when they arrived. The atmosphere is definitely more nightclub than traditional steakhouse. It is very dark inside and there was a live DJ, which made it extremely loud. If you are looking for a quiet dinner or easy conversation, this probably is not the place. That said, the energy clearly works for a lot of people and the restaurant was busy. Reservations are very much a good idea, especially during peak times. read more

We were told not to come here by a friend who ate here recently. Didn't listen. Half the reviews on here were good, half were bad. So I was not sure it was going to be a good meal. I wanted a good steak and ordered the fillet. Sent it back. It has such an odd tasted old, bitter, seasoning was heavy and not good. My guys mushrooms were cold as was the broccolini. The food is EXCELLENT, I mean everything is fantastic there is nothing that could possibly tell me otherwise. The food is always flavorful, hot, fresh, and on time. Asparagus was undercooked. The ladies of the night hanging there was definitely in poor taste. One gal was wearing a dress so short that we could see part of her buttocks. We made a reservation for Sunday 6:30pm a very dead time upon arriving a younger male host and security were outside checking in guest and asked us to stay outside to wait for our name to be call with every seat at the bar open but 3 chairs. You think the host would suggest a pair to have a drink while we wait ($ lost). Our serve made up for a lot of the night with his excellent attentiveness and attention to detail. The servers were great, however the service was kind of slow (it took an hour to get our food). Maybe it was the food prep, which is understandable, I guess. We weren't in a hurry but they do have a 90 minute dine policy, so 60 minutes of that were gone, right off the top. Now, the complimentary bread was delicious...soft and delightful. This place was very boujee with clubby music, dim lighting, and overall lively atmosphere. Our server was great and answered all of our questions. I ordered an espresso martini it was a little on the strong side but nonetheless delicious. I don't eat steak so I ordered the chicken and was able to swap brussel sprouts for mashed potatoes. The service here is excellent with our waiter being really nice and helpful. He walked us through different dishes, drinks, and wine pairings. The restaurant has a modern club feel. However, the music is played extremely loud so that one must shout to be heard. We ordered the ceviche and brussel sprout salad which were excellent. The Mac and cheese was heavy and not noteworthy. The lobster ravioli was over salted and over priced. $65 for three salty ravioli is absurd. The real issue was with the steak. A ribeye was ordered medium and when it came out it was well done, dry, and not a bit of pink in sight. When we sent it back to be redone our server was understanding. He then however came back to tell us they were now out of ribeye and could do a filet mignon. We figured that would be okay as it's generally on the juicy side for steak even when done just okay. After 30 minutes, by then everyone else was mostly done with their food, the replacement steak finally came out. The manager carried this one out and asked us to cut the steak to see if it was to our liking. It was depressingly dry and almost more cooked than the first one. When we said it wasn't pink she proceeded to point at the steak and insist there was pink. She was rude and then left immediately even though we were visibly upset and it wasn't right. The steak was left uneaten as it was dry and chewy. Our waiter comped the steak as well as two glasses of wine which was nice but for an expensive bill it was a terrible meal.
