    I love this place

This place is awesome! I love the variety of graphic novels they carry as well as their punk and metal selections. Ilana is super friendly and knowledgable of just about everything there! It's such a cute place and I only wish I had known about it sooner because I definitely would've purchased my Andre the Giant biography from here as opposed to amazon. Lesson learned. PS this place is dog friendly! HOLLA. I will definitely be back and I HIGHLY recommend it to all my fellow nerds out there.

Upon walking in, I was greeted by a super chill and friendly store clerk named Ilana.

Funky cool little shop to browse the shelves and purchase comics, graphic novels, independent…read morepublications, and a selection adult underground comics. Very diverse inventory, including foreign comics, and something for most everyone's taste if you're into this genre. It's a perfect fit for Brooklyn as a small biz and good to see its still around.

There was nothing calm about you in that interaction and you can see by other low responses on here that my experience is consistent with many others. You didn't say one word to me before you told me about pictures (which is why your attached response is especially dangerous in how you portray yourself). You were so set on being angry that you didn't even take a moment to realize you were wrong. I understand the rules, I wasn't breaking them. It's unforunate that you've decided to create mistruths to protect yourself. He is grossly mistepping boundaries as a store owner. A quick scroll will show reviews from almost a decade ago documenting similar patterns of inappropriate behavior. Yet in his response he says he came up to me calmly and quietly lol You know that didn't happen. I would have respected a bit of honesty. I've screenshotted the owners response to my previous review below. Hopefully this provides more context and will protect other customers from similar uncomfortable experiences.

Bookoff is such a gem! They have such a wide variety of books, manga, cds, vinyl, anime figurines,…read morevideo games, and more! It has multiple floors and deals tucked in every corner. There's so much to see, so the space can be a little overwhelming, but it's definitely something every bookworm or nerd should check out in the city.

Buying and Selling at Book Off What a cool store. So much to…read moresee. Unfortunately, it is lousy to sell at and expensive to buy at. First, Selling. I brought in three statue items unopened in the original packaging. I checked on ebay for what the items sold for (not asking price but sold price) and it added up to about $600, I lugged the items over there and had to leave them there because they wouldn't get to them right away. The people/kids working there were very nice. I went to have lunch and got the text to return, and they are offering $150. So I picked up the items and turned down the offer. Again, they were very nice, it's just I wasn't willing to accept 25% of the value. I figured at worst it would be 50%. But I am better off getting closer to the actual price on ebay. Now, Buying. Lots of very expensive and exiting things to get, and I didn't have time to price check things so much, but my son is into the Nintendo switch and i spotted a used Marvel VS Capcom game he might like. It was $34.95. But just in case, I pulled up Amazon and looked the game up. A brand new one costs $21.79. So it would have been a terrible idea for me to buy it there. I guess if you are leaving work and need a quick gift, you might stop in and pay too much for an item. If you are in real trouble and don't have time to wait for an Ebay sale, you might consider selling your collectables for 25% the value, this place might come in handy.
