Finally there's a place in town to buy vinyl!! I've been scouting out the Oasis since before they opened for business. The owners were nice but I was a bit concerned about inventory in such a small space. Then they opened and BAM!!!! They made great use of every inch of the store and everything was laid out beautifully. There's a very diverse amount of inventory. Gently used LPs, 45's, $1.99 bin of overly used LPs, cassettes, CDs, rock T shirts, sound systems of all kinds and colognes. I'm not too sure the colognes be here but if it sells then good for them. Prices are fair except for the main stock of LPs. They vinyl is in a good condition but for the price the covers were not taken care of. They could go a couple dollars less but all in all it's a great shop and something our city needs since there's a resurgence.

Hear Again has both new and used records, as well as a killer cassette selection that includes a lot of recently released music, which is hard to find. Everything is priced extremely reasonably. When I first started my record collection, I asked my music-loving co-worker where to go and he immediately recommended Hear Again! Located in downtown Gainesville only a few cobblestoned steps from the legendary Hippodrome Theater, Hear Again has a fantastic location in the heart of the city. You'll usually know when the shop is open based on the standing sign that is propped up during business hours! Upon entrance into the store, you're surrounded by some of the greatest tunes to ever be pressed on their various mediums with more genres that you could even count. Hear Again is so wonderfully organized and arranged, there never seems to be a a CD or vinyl out of alphabetical or genre order - talk about arrangement! The wonderful store owner also keeps a running list online of available vinyls, also available on their Instagram page which is updated weekly with new arrivals or sales. My favorite portion of the store? The used records! I've scored vinyls in prime condition for $5 or even less! One of my favorite details about Hear Again? Their COVID practices! Upon entry, you get your temp checked, hands sprayed with alcohol/sanitizer and you are then provided with gloves. I love it!! So if you're planning to show some love to your music collection soon, Hear Again has all the greats your record player could want!

So while we were waiting I remembered there was a comic-book/collectibles shop in town, I knew this from all the times I have been to the Downtown Leesburg area and wanting to go inside the shop but never had enough time to go inside. First thing that I loved about the shop was the pretty lit name Not Just Cardboard which I thought was a really clever name for the type of shop it was. So once I entered the establishment I was transported to a Magical Land of throwback collectibles, yesteryear toys, toys from my childhood, throwback sport jersey, and an amazing collection of old and new comic books. I saw some toys inside there that I haven't see since I was a little kid, like the Mighty Morphin Power Ranger Morphing Action figures from the original toy line of the show which I believe are really hard to find if your a collector. The store is owned and operated by these three guys Mike, Mark, and Dave I was able to chat it up with both Mark and Mike both were really nice guys who had great customer service. They both really knew their stuff about the things they were selling in their shop very knowledgeable. They wanted me to let anyone who was making their way to the shop that they were in the middle of a remodel and that that's why it might look a little disorganized in the shop right now but that they are still open and that once the remodel is over its going to be a even more of a Magical Place for everyone who visit the shop. This kinda a shops are the shops that I love because you never know what you might find you could find something new or something that's is old but you will always find something magical that brings joy to your life and reminds you of how life should be lived because life is short and should be lived to the fullest. So in closing if you ever find yourself in the Downtown Leesburg, FL area and your looking for a little Magic that will bring you back to better days check out Not Just Cardboard.

I didn't really have a goal in mind for what I wanted, so just going through the stacks and browsing to see if anything caught my eye was the basic plan. Lots of people lined up, but I got through the line pretty quickly. Inside, the books are arranged in a reasonable order, and the different sections are easy to identify, so finding areas that interested me was not a problem. Coming across the cooking section, I found that there were a number of smaller cookbooks that I like to term as "Wive's Club Cookbooks" which can be some of the best/most entertaining cookbooks you can come across due to the nature of the recipes that are contained in them. You never know what you are going to find in them, though recipes from the 1960's are prevalent and gelatin comes into heavy play. Good stuff there, and I stocked up on them. Overall, the Friends of the Library book sale is always a good thing to go to!

Although I was familiar with the Market at Marion, I'd never taken the time to explore it. When I finally discovered Vinyl Explosion last year, I was both thrilled--and a bit irritated--that I hadn't visited sooner. Since that first trip, I've returned more than ten times, and without fail, I always walk out with something special. The owner, Kurt, is highly knowledgeable about music and greets every customer with genuine enthusiasm. He gives a helpful overview of the layout, points out new arrivals, and is always available to assist with whatever you need. The store is packed with an exceptional variety of vinyl, along with a large selection of CDs, cassettes, posters, and other music-related finds. Best of all, the pricing is refreshingly fair. While many shops have inflated their prices, Kurt maintains honest, reasonable pricing across the board. The vinyl ranges from very good to mint condition, with the covers in great shape. There's also an enormous $1 section where you can find some old gems. Vinyl Explosion has quickly become my favorite record store in Florida. Whether you're a casual collector, a seasoned audiophile, or simply someone who appreciates a friendly, well-organized shop filled with great music, this place is absolutely worth the trip.
