I have been inside this shop a number of times and always find what I am looking for and more. The owner is helpful, engaging and will help you search for what you are looking for. Prices are fair and the atmosphere is low key. But when you have a chill location like this, understand you have to be flexible. I have been by a few times when they were closed during hours they were supposed to open and have looked for tho ha I was sure they had, but did not. But if you are a true comic book fan, this is an amazing shop to visit.

They have a really lovely children's book selection with all different kinds of themes. My toddler couldn't stop looking through them! I usually just get our books from the library but we found some really nice ones for myself and our 2yo daughter. The woman who helped us in the store and at the register was really sweet too. Cliff specializes in horror, sci-fi, mystery, comics, but carries at least something from just about any other genre you can think of. Some of the older more rare books are kept in a thin plastic protectors to preserve them, and are neatly organized onto shelves. Cliff also sells a variety of collectable glassware and toys. It's best to let Cliff know what you are looking for so he can direct you to the right location. I asked him where he keeps music books and he took me right to the spot then informed me that the entire bottom shelf was full of them, but I would need to dig a little since there was three more stacks of music-related books in front of the shelf; I was in heaven, lol! There was a lot to sift through and I didn't even see it all because my wife was pulling me out before I get deep in it. Regardless, I decided on purchasing three music books: Hits of the 90's for $6; Casio Piano sound Music Library Piano Scores for $8; and Guns N' Roses Anthology for Guitar for $15. When I went to check out, I asked Cliff if he could sell me all three for $25 and he said no problem. Then he got distracted with another customer for a minute and came back to me and asked "what was I charging you again," and I replied $25 and started to pull out cash and he said "Lets just make it an even $20," wow, what an awesome guy! Thank you, Cliff! Cliff also hosts big comic events in the DeLand area, so if your interested in those types events I recommend checking out his Instagram or Facebook page since the main website is a bit outdated with all of his happenings. All-in-all, a great book store and I recommend Cliff's if you are a book lover and are in the area shopping. I will be back!

We also noticed a neat speakeasy out back that we definitely want to check out next time. Overall, this is a great spot for any nerd, collector, or cosplayer. Comic Shop organized a Pre Release event for the One Piece Paramount War card game. The organizers…read moretold players that booster box purchases would have priority to players who participated in the event. On the day of the event, players who signed up were written on a short list to be able to purchase a box during the middle of the event. Mid-way through the event, the staff informed players that only the top half of the short list would receive a box. At the end of the event, the staff told the players who were on the top half, that the list was rewritten, their placement was changed, and there was no longer a box available to them. As a player who was among the top half of the original list, I felt very hurt, frustrated, with a broken trust with the comic shop at that point. I also had a friend who arrived earlier, was number 2 on the list, but had his name scratched out and told he couldn't get a box. It was very shady and borderline false advertisement. My recommendation to the comic book shop is to be truthful and upfront to prevent these kinds of things from happening. They lost returning customers.
