Obviously by the rating and the reviews, I'm not the only one upset with this woman's customer service. My friend bought an expensive dress for a party at this shop and when she got it home, she tried it on again and I noticed there was a hole in it so she went back and asked them to fix the hole because she loves the dress, the woman working there (not the owner) took the dress back and then the owner fired that woman later for doing so. Violet said the following comments to my friend; How do I know you bought the dress here? It smells like perfume anyway so I know you wore it already. You must have ripped it because I have three different people who check all of my merchandise. She obviously isn't great with customer service and we will never be giving her our business again, and I recommend you don't either. For a high end boutique to have someone who treats their patrons with such disrespect is absolutely ridiculous and plain rude. read more

My husband took my twin sister and me shopping here for our birthday! I found and bought a beautiful outfit for myself, and my sister also found one, although she wanted a different color jacket. Our sales girl was Karli and she was so sweet and helpful. She assured us that with the help of her manager and store owner, Violet, that she thought they could find it! We just got a call today and they have located the perfect jacket...All of the women who helped us including Karli, Cynthia and Violet, went above and beyond to fulfill our wishes...The store itself has beautiful, unique merchandise that is excellent quality yet affordable! brought a girlfriend in to find a dress for Cabo Wedding she spent over 350 dollars i bought a silk outfit and when i brought home in different lighting color was to bright i am a local and walked back to store a few days later and asked if i could exchange for a more neutral color same price same outfit different color the sales girls said they would have to ask owner Violet they promised to get back to me and never did i went back to store and Violet was standing next to register and saw me enter, sales lady went up to her and i heard her say is this about the pink outfit? No she can not exchange and proceeded to walk in back room i said i wanted to discuss with her and was told she just stepped out Waited and then told she was not coming back. Violet actually just walked out on me. i again asked if i could make an appointment with her. my answer was email her. i was a manager for Nordstroms and buyer for Macy 's New York and NEVER experienced such a horrible degradation in my life as a client or retail executive. i filed a dispute with my bank and hope she is forced to look at herself She is no business woman and to treat a local resident in a small town with many referrals opportunities to behave in this matter. I always include a visit to this shop when I visit Laguna Beach, but after my recent experience it may be the last time. They carry a line of silk, backed with t-shirt material, tops which are also available in a few other stores I shop at. I chose a silk top and 2 pairs of jeans, only the jeans had price tags but I expected the top to be around the same price I've seen it at the other stores. After I got home I was aghast to see Violet charged $39 more for the exact same top, with the exact same label, at another store - $118, to $79 elsewhere! I called Violet to ask if this was a mistake, telling her of the $39 price difference. She didn't budge on her price, offering only a store credit if I wanted to buy it elsewhere - a useless offer since I'd be even more out of pocket! Lesson learned, Violet lost a good customer and my local store gained! read more

I came here during a trip to Laguna Beach for the weekend. My parents, a family friend and I were walking downtown and window shopping. We came across this store and went in because the store looked interesting. I ended up buying a cute shirt (actually affordable) and my mom bought a ring or some small accessory. The sales staff was super friendly and chatty with us and made the experience enjoyable. They have clothes, accessories, and jewerly to choose from and the store itself is roomy and lots of natural light coming in which makes for an enjoyable shopping trip! read more

I was shopping in Violet Boutique and Violet(the owner) was helping me with shoes. She was very nice and made some good suggestions. I found a pair I liked that she was also wearing, but she only had a size 8. I felt they were a little large but she said "better too large than too tight". She did not have my correct size. She convinced me these could be tightened and would be great. I went home that evening and tried them on with socks and they were still too large. I took the unworn shoes and receipt back to the shop the next day to return. The sales person said that she is not authorized to accept returns. She called the owner and the owner said "all sales are final", but I pointed out that there are no signs stating the return policy nor did she tell me that all sales were final before she charged me. California requires that ALL retailers post their return policy unless they accept all returns for full refund up to 7 days after the return. I have photos of the cash register and cash wrap area as well as the entrance of the store, and no signs are posted. BEWARE of this shop's "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" policy that is not posted or communicated. read more

My bad...I fell in love with a cute pair of sandles, tried them on and bought immediately. When the owner was wrapping them for me, I noticed the soles looked a little dirty. I mentioned it and she just said something to the effect that it was from trying them on. I was also reminded that shoes are a final sale. I was in a hurry, so took my bag and drove home (35 minutes). The next day I was so excited to wear them and on closer examination, noticed the soles were rather worn. My husband agreed. Since the sale was final and I don't live close, just decided to "suck it up." Thus, "buyer beware." read more

Exceptional customer service! The sales associate was not pushy at all, but very helpful and knowledgeable of merchandise. They carry Baik Baik Honolulu clothing company apparel and the 'Laura Pant' - I purchased a pair and love them. I also had my 70 year old mother with me, visiting from the East Coast, and she purchased a lovely and unique skirt that she gets compliments on all the time. I came in here one evening with no intention of buying anything and ended up finding so much stuff!! Not only are the clothes very interesting & different,( In a good way), but the young lady, Genevieve Diem, who was working the night I had went in was such a doll!! The second I had walked through the door I was instantly greeted with a bright smile and a lovely Hello! :-) She even went around the store and pulled everything that she thought I would fit in, and everything she pulled I ended up buying!! I made sure to get her Business Card so I could remember her name and so I can definitely shop from her again. I would definitely recommend everyone to shop here, they have clothes for all ages, shapes, sizes, and styles. Its almost guaranteed you will find something. Cute clothes but had a bad experience with a return - sheer tunic ripped at the seam the first time I wore it and owner said "we take no liability". Would not allow me to return the shirt or give me store credit for something else in the store. Sad since hubby had gotten some cute things there for Mothers Day but we won't be going back since her tone and demeanor was almost hostile in front of all of the customers in the store. Absolutely horrible experience. I was stalked and harassed the entire time I was in the store, even had the owner walk into the dressing room while I was unclothed and trying on items several times. She acted like this was normal human behavior and like she was being helpful. No privacy, and complete rudeness. The stuff really isn't that great, and I could name 100 more unique and worthwhile boutiques within 100 miles. The experience with the staff, though... I can't get over it. Horrendous.
