Saw this and took my niece their for her birthday present. Wasn't sure exactly what kind of bracelet you would be making but there are 2. Bead or charm and she picked the charm. They have a wide selection so you pick the ones you want and write down the prices on a sheet of paper. She picked 6 and then selected her chain. The 2 already cut weren't quite long enough so the girl cut her a new one fitting her wrist. She showed is how to add the charms and then my niece worked on her bracelet. I came here with my friends in May 2024 to get permanent bracelets, and it was such a fun experience. They offer a variety of styles and colors at reasonable prices. The permanent jewelry is plated in gold to help it last longer. I wear mine on the same wrist as my watch, and even though the charm gets caught on things, it still looks brand new--no scratches, rust, or damage. That being said , it is important to come early so that you aren't struggling to find a spot on the weekend! The shop itself is so cutesy! There are so many options to make or buy jewelry. So you cans make a charm bracelet or necklace , or even a beaded one . The charm selection is insane! There are so many options . Which is what my best friend and I went for. We had a lovely time looking at the options and curating the best charm bracelets. After we made our selections we sat down as an employee explained to us how to properly clasp our charms to the chain. As for the price , it depends on the charms and chain you use. Mine was about 70 dollars , which to me was worth it. Everyone who worked there was so kind and helpful! We even got to meet the owner who was so sweet. The girl who checked me out Alicia was rude I came in with my friend she was like let's go to the bead shop real quickly since we had just got done hanging on the beach I had no idea I was supposed to get a paper and write down every single bead I grab and the prices of each bead, and the girl was clearly annoyed which made me feel like shit. I was like oh I'm sorry I didn't know and she was like yeah I didn't tell you like...... you could have told me when I walked in or once you saw me grab a couple different bead types. This is hardly a bead shop. If you're looking for quality beads, this isn't the place. If you want to make something for yourself in a store and you are under 15 or have the spirit of a young person, you might like it. I was looking for supplies, and my asking questions about purchasing items like cording were not well received. Also the beads were like Amazon bulk bead quality so operate accordingly. Definitely not a BAD store, but the name is wildly misleading. They don't really want to sell beads or findings - they want you to build a piece in store and honestly for kids that seems like it could be fun. If you have the $$. I think a name change might make sense. Because for a bead store in Laguna so close to 2 very nice crystal stores that also offer actually nice beaded jewelry options, it seems like not the move to be so limited, but I'm a regular person who appreciates quality and kindness. read more

We stopped here for my sister's bachelorette party. It's a very cute shop with a lot of super cute charms and choices. We really enjoyed making our charm bracelets. It was decently priced. They have something for all ages. The only thing I would say is the staff is good but not great. We had one girl that was really awesome and was full of information. She was very helpful and made it easy. The other two staff members at the time were polite and kind but not super knowledgeable or helpful. The gentlemen that wrapped up my purchase forgot to put a loop at the end of my necklace making it kind of difficult to take on and off. It's nice to have a local bead shop. The problem I have experienced is high prices and poor selection from this shop. Additionally, if you have questions and need help, I have found it impossible on two separate occasions to have my phone calls returned. I not only spoke once to the customer service representative directly, but had left several messages. Maybe a comment here on Yelp will be enough incentive for the business to realize that a customer calling multiple times with questions about products or services expects a return reply to continue a successful business relationship. These guys were awesome. I had broke two of my bracelets, that same day I walked in, and they were able to restring them right away, when other bead shops would take two weeks to fix them. Also while they were repairing them, they let me pick every bead I wanted from their string of beads. It meant a lot to me that they were so nice and accommodating. my mom and i went here in may to get permanent bracelets and they have lasted really well, we both are rough on them but with the way they wrap it it's very secure and doesn't catch on anything. my sister had gotten a permanent bracelet somewhere else and hers came off already because it was welded together and not wrapped. service was amazing and everyone was so nice and the store is so cute. it was $75 for a sterling silver pearl bracelet and after all that time no tarnishing or damage to the pearls (at the time was the most expensive chain they offered but prices varied from $45-75 i believe) definitely worth it truly 10/10 experience read more

I have something to get off my chest, and that is I'm a drop out. Not a high school or college drop out, but a boy scout drop out. Since I was only a scout for a few months I never got the chance to make my own clothes, learn to sew, or do any arts and crafts. My girlfriend was an only child and was raised primarily by her dad. She also never got the chance to make her own jewelery or do any other girlie things. Well this past weekend my GF and I were walking around Laguna Beach and we came across The Bead Shop. The inside of this shop is so colorful, every wall is covered with different types of necklace's, anklets, bracelets, and any other type of jewelery you can make with beads. The middle of this shop consists of many tables that have thousands of different beads, gems, rocks, and stones on them in little cups so you can create your own piece of jewelry. My GF and I thought it would be fun if we each made a bracelet to remind us of our trip to Laguna. Since we really have no experience at this (because I'm a drop out and my GF is kind of a tom boy) it took us about an hour to make a small bracelet. In all honesty the hour we spent in this shop might have been the best hour of our whole trip to Laguna. We laughed at each others creations, we gave each other suggestions, and we even talked with some of the locals who were coming in and out of the shop. We really had a blast. Some beads cost more then others, they can range from ten cents a bead to four dollars a bead. For both of our hand made bracelet's we paid eighteen dollars. I know that sounds like a lot but for the amount of fun we had together in that shop it was totally worth it. It is defiantly not something I would do every week but I know I would like to come back one day when we have kids and let them make their own stuff. This shop is small and full of single beads. My boyfriend and I were looking to buy something fun to remember our adventures of the day. However, upon looking through the store, the older woman sitting behind the counter enjoyed glaring at us as we looked through the assorted bead baskets. We were trying to choose two beads, one for each of us. After my boyfriend picked up the bead he wanted and we went to decide on mine, the woman came out from behind the counter, took the bead from him without a word, and then dropped it right back into the basket from which it came. He asked what she was doing and she promptly and rudely accused him of attempting to steal the bead. In addition to this we had asked the woman about the demographic that the store caters to, solely out of curiosity. The response consisted of bragging about the expensive beads that they had in stock and explaining that the only customers that were of value to the store were some the many that came in and "bought thousands of dollars of beads" at one time. In response to the question "what type of beads do people like to buy the most" she answered "it depends on how much money they have." This bead store is not about art and fun and community, it is not about friendliness. I have never been so disrespected in a store and recommend avoiding The Bead Shop. read more

I CANNOT TELL YOU HOW DIFFICULT IT IS TO FIND POINTED BACK RHINESTONES IN ORANGE COUNTY. I searched high and low all over Orange County. Even the craft stores like Michael's & Joanne's does not carry these. If there's someone out there who does know, I would love to know! I own a ton of clothes that are blinged out. Especially Sky Brand. I never knew how hard it was to locate these particular type of rhinestones until I actually went on a search to replace missing pieces. Yeah, they're readily available online but unless you know your rhinestone sizes, good friggin luck. I was getting extremely frustrated until I gave The Bead Shop a call. They said they did carry some and since they were 1 of 2 stores to say they did, off I went. Boy, was I glad I did! Their pointed back rhinestone selection isn't massive or even small. It's tiny! But luckily, they carried the most basic, popular size and colors that I was mostly able to get what I needed. Big thanks to the nice lady helping me out to find the right sizes. This is one super organized store and really cute inside. Parking for the store is underneath the building they're in (understand this means the store, not all day parking for you to run around Laguna). 3 spots but personally I find the 3rd spot more a motorcycle spot than a full size car space. Minimum $10 to charge on a card so if you're not needing or buying many beads, bring cash. What else is awesome?
