Since VIOLET NAILS 2 does not have a Yelp account or Google; leaves me no choice but to leave an honest review to its joint co-owners account. In the beginning, Violet's 2 nails were great since the owner TAMMY AKA THY used to do my full set. However, due to the high demand for her work, I couldn't get an appointment with Tammy so she recommended her other male staff to do it. Yesterday may 27 2024 I decided to get a full set from this male staff, my experience was horrible. I tried to be respectful and honest with the work. I told him and explained my nails were not colored correctly and my nails were crooked. Long story short he never fixed it once home I called Tammy aka Thy and explained to Her about the situation and experience. She yelled and screamed that she was not responsible for Her staff's work And that she would only do me a favor by "fixing them". Once there to attempt to get them fixed she refused to do the job and raised her voice and became irate. Tammy the owner refused to acknowledge the poor service and the horrible job in his work. She explained it was not her duty to fix the issue and to go back to Her male staff to fix it. Long story short the male Staff became irate and started to get out of character and even curse out in his language. Tammy aka Thy is very much overworked and is the only one who can do nails got upset and out of line. She needs to be trained in better customer service if she wants to keep her business running. Service: Honestly, I have not had any pressing issues with them for me to leave a review. This is my first review actually, but the one problem I do have is being charged $120 for a style that wasn't worth that amount of money. Below is a reference for the nails that I wanted. I've been going to them since 2017, and their shop is clean. I stopped going to them this year in March because my mom passed and I started going back November 2024. I understand that is a lot of time, so maybe they forgot what I looked like, but I got my nails done by the Vietnamese guy named Lee at table 2. I usually get them done by T at the first table who handles the money and check out. Quality: Even though, Lee did my nails the way he wanted, they were kinda similar to the picture at the time, so I didn't make a big stink about it. He did them coffin instead of square but I'm still not sure why they charged me $120 for this style, because most of the designs/ flowers have fallen off and it's been 2 weeks. I would have also liked for him to put a top coat over the flowers so they won't fall off so easily, but that's okay. Cleanliness: They disinfect after every use and use gloves when doing your feet. There are bags that they change after every customer (they look like extra, extra large shower caps that hug the pedicure bowl) that protect against any fungi/ bacteria, etc. Further Comments: Other than that, I have no complaints. I like T and Tammy. There was another girl who used to sit at table 2, that knows how to do nails soooo good like the IG nail techs without charging you an arm and a leg, but she doesn't work there anymore. It's so sad to see people go, and I hope they get it together. They've been on a downward spiral since the pandemic and they haven't recovered yet. read more

As a service provider, this place can really use some better customer service skills. I came in for a manicure and pedicure, pedicure was perfect. Now when it was time for my nails I sat at table 3 I never asked for a fill in, I just assumed they would know to remove the old nails, She finally came to realization that she should remove my old acrylic nails once they realized they didnt have the same color acrylic on my nail. I made no big deal about it, still I sat patiently & explained it wasnt a problem. I actually only cared for the shaping of my nails. I asked for short nails & one stiletto on the pinky. I am a hairstylist & Use the stiletto nail for stitch braids . The lady cut up my nails tried to paint over it and didnt even give the shape i liked. Im so frustrated because I am so easy going & Now i see why people come into the nail salons being rude and bossy because when your too nice they do whatever they want. I explained i would like my nails sharp & I kept telling her it wasnt the same as the picture. Im just frustrated because I still tipped and just went about my business because the service was done. Please Pay better attention to clients & TALK TO THEM COMMUNICATE , ask questions because its so frustrating how a 16 year old AT HOME DOES nails better and pay way more attention. Unbelievably rude service. I came in today to get a nail repaired, and the gentleman at table 9 was extremely rough with my nails. He used a sharp clipper and started yanking at my nail, which caused my skin to bleed. Instead of acknowledging his mistake, he yelled at me and blamed me for pulling my hand away. I explained that I only pulled away because he was clipping my skin, but he continued to yell. At that point, I decided I couldn't tolerate the treatment anymore and left. I asked for simple white toes because i already went back and forth with shaping and explaining the French i wanted. Even the white gel polish would barely dry. I've been frequenting this salon for years now. There's one particular person there (Ally) that actually knows how to shape a nail and she's really the only reason that I have continued to go there ...until last August. I went in for a tips and a pedi on my birthday and had to wait since they don't take appointments. One of the owners said that she was going to service me the next thing I know she has her purse in her hand and she's walking out the back door saying nothing. So I'm sitting and eventually speak up otherwise I would have just been sitting there . Another lady takes me then I'm eventually given to Don for acrylic tips. I was irritated because I've been passed around and wasting time on my birthday sitting in the salon but I heard that he did great work so expected great results. My nails came out looking like trash. I wish i still had the photo. That was the last time i went there . Fast forward to last Monday....I'm desperate for mani pedi post covid so i go back (mistake) I figured I'm just getting a quick Mani and pedi you can't screw that up. They somehow managed to do that. Initially I was told they were only doing gel manicures and I said fine then when I finally got it for the appointment I was told they're only doing gel manicures and pedicures at this point I've already invested hours between signing in and waiting, going home and coming back so I say that's fine. The girl that did my nails cute me some new cuticles . I mean she was just cutting my skin( the lady before her told me to make sure she cleaned the clippers bc she had made her bleed) . Today makes one week since I've had the gel mani and it started peeling two days ago. THEN I flash back to a time i got a gel pedi there and both big toes peeled off a few days later. I got oval shape French tip with gel, the base color was a standard light pink acrylic, but I think I'd go for a pink gel color instead as a base next time. My nails were done by Tee for the first time, I felt very secure and comfortable at first and didn't feel the need to constantly check on my nails but when it came to buffing and smoothing out my nails, it was done swiftly but not considerably because the tool cut my skin multiple times around the cuticles on three different fingers, ouch. Violet nails get 4 stars because it's my fave place to get my nails done in Union Twp. If I had to rate all of the places in Union that I've been to from my favorite to my least it would be 1. Violet Nails 2. Lovely Nails 3. Illusion Nails 4. Princess Nails 5. Star Nails (According to my experience and preference; although 3-5 are a close call) I like violet the most because the pedicures are so relaxing and they don't go too rough on you. I usually get gel pedicures and manicures and they always turn out so clean and perfect. Most of the times I'd also get a full set with acrylics/crystal. For the price I pay for a new set with crystal and gel the total comes out to around $50/$55 w/coffin shape. (I can't remember the exact prices but I believe it's around that much) For a fill with gel it's $30/$35 with coffin (about). Don't quote me on the prices, but they price about the same as any other salon in Union. There's this one man, Denny, that did my nails soooo well. I loved it so much. I attached a picture of it. It's just plain white Nails in a coffin shape, even so, it turned out really nice. The other picture I attached is also crystal/acrylics but an ombred effect. This was my first time getting that style as well as a the square shape. I loved it so much too! Although I'd recommend getting it in coffin too if you prefer coffin. They charge an extra $5 for coffin shape. I also got French Gel nails for $25 by him it was gorgeous. I changed my review from 4 to 5 stars solely bc Denny does my nails amazingly, I'll wait 2 hours to get my nails done if it meant I could get it done by him. read more

When you give people an appointment you try to get to them as close as possible - 5, 10, 15 or even 20 minutes, but you do not have them sitting there for an hour and then take people who obviously have come in minutes before - why even bother giving out appointments. Do not come here if you value the quality and care of your nails. I spent about 5 minutes in this salon before I had to get up and leave. I had acrylic nails on, and I had asked to get them removed. The nail technician started to use a nail clipper to cut through the acrylics and my real nails so recklessly. I asked him why he was cutting through my real nails and told him it was hurting. He responded with "don't be scared." He proceeded to say that soaking the acrylics off (the correct method) would take too long. They definitely prioritize getting customers in and out over handling their customers with care. After about 3 nails, I made him stop because it was too painful. Not him nor the manager acknowledged the fact that they destroyed my natural nails. It was very obvious that this nail salon lacked the experience and expertise to deal with very simple tasks that any certified, professional nail technician should be acquainted with. read more

So Cecy and Amy I love you both, but I won't be coming back. Why? Because the services I received were great. The atmosphere was absolutely horrible. The woman next to me was on her phone my entire pedicure. I was trying to get my self love, relax your mind, vibe going. Cecy is exfoliating my heels, rubbing plantar fasciitis pain out of my soles, messaging individual toes, but, I was unable to decompress. The noise pollution completely killed my vibe. I find this behavior to be so incredibly inconsiderate. When I choose to pamper myself, my choice does not include loud, nonsensical, phone conversations. i was debating if i should write a review or not, but i figured i should because it could save people a lot of time and money. violet nails was my go-to salon for about 5+ years. i started going there when i was in high school, and i'm now a college grad. the reason i kept going was because they were affordable (at first) and it's close to my house. the sign inside says what the price is for each service, but i would get the same thing done every time (gel fill in), and they would constantly charge me a different price. when you ask why the price is different, they refuse to explain. they have a few good technicians, but also a few bad ones. their customer service isn't great, they're friendly to their "regulars" but rude to everyone else. sometimes you'll be waiting more than 2 hours just to get a fill in, and they'll take people who came in after you first just because they like/know them. also, they all talk about you while you're getting your services done. many of the technicians are related (the two owners are married, there's a cousin, and a sister) and they really make you feel embarrassed because it's obvious they're talking about you. last month i had my final straw and stopped going there. i usually just get a plain color with no designs because i have seen some people leave with poorly done designs. however, i was going to a party and wanted a simple design done. it was supposed to be blue nails with one different colored daisy on each nail. i had a picture for reference. when the technician (the owner, her name is T) started doing the designs, i noticed that the flowers did not look good. each one looked different and they looked messy. it literally looked like a child did it. once i put them in the light, the colors combined and my nails looked absolutely awful. i wish i took a picture to prove how horrible they looked. nicely, i told the technician that i didn't like them. she looked mad and kept saying "what do you mean? how could you not like them?!" and i politely said that i didn't like how the flowers looked, and asked for her to simply paint them over with the same blue polish. she proceeded to speak super loudly at me (almost yelling) and everyone in the salon was staring at me. i was so embarrassed. she even took a picture of them on her phone, showed it to me and said "you don't like that?!" as if looking at it through a screen would make it any better. while she finished painting them blue, she kept saying "i don't understand how you don't like it", "people have asked me for designs like that and loved them". and she continued to sigh loudly and angrily pick things up / put things down. she even nastily said she should "charge me extra for wasting her time and nail polish." when in actuality, it took her maybe 5-10 minutes to do the awful design. she wasted barely any time and maybe $1 worth of nail polish. and when i went to pay, she STILL charged me extra. the reason i was so upset is because every worker at the salon knows me. i've never complained before and within the past decade, i've spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars there. they should have treated me WAY better. even if i was a first time customer, i shouldn't have been yelled at or treated disrespectfully. it's been more than a month and i'm still shocked how poorly they acted. i'm bad with confrontation, so i didn't complain when i was there, but i wish i did. PLEASE SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY AND DON'T GO HERE. i would always be nervous going in because i would sometimes leave there with nice nails, and sometimes they'd be horrible. on occasions my nails would be different lengths and shapes, and the polish job wasn't great. since then, i've started going to a new place with extremely professional, talented, and kind technicians, and i wish i would have stopped going to violet nails sooner. also, another side story to explain how rude and strange the atmosphere is. there was a technician there i really liked (pretty sure his name was jack) and one day while i was there, he got up and packed his stuff and walked out. i never saw him again. he now works at another salon in union, so he obviously quit and none of the other employees tried to talk to him. several of my family members used to go to violet nails and stopped after having "bad experiences". now i know why, and i would never recommend this place ever again. read more

My first time there today and had a great experience . Jack , was great ! He literally did mine and my mother nails ( acrylics and gel polish ) in less than 1 hour . He was very polite , and knew what he was doing . He also asked " is this okay ? " plenty of times . I also got a pedicure today , which ended up being nice BUT I only experienced a few cons . The lady that was doing my pedicure would randomly get up and attend someone else . I also noticed that they use the same nail file for everyone , along with the foot scrubber . They do put alcohol on the tools , but still . They charge 20$ for a solid color , and charged my little girl 10$ for pedicure and manicure ( no water , just polish. ) overall , I wouldn't mind going to jack again , but I would definitely reconsider the pedicures .
