    My husband and I have used this salon for 3 years with mixed reviews but because it is conveniently located and we can both go. We will not be returning after today. With his stylist on leave for a period my husband just had his first cut with someone new. See attached photos. The explanation given was an issue with the clippers used. As repeat customers I was very disappointed not only that this happened (OK clippers have issues), but by the lack of accountability or integrity in charging the full $50. He tipped from a sensitivity to covid working conditions, but as said before, we will not be returning.

    UPDATE: manager asked me to come in again. Colorist and stylist did a BEAUTIFUL job: I'll let the B&A pics do the talking. Odd that the manager who promised to check in with me at check in and check out never spoke to me though I saw her on the floor. END UPDATE Went in today for appointment. Lots of very beautiful hairstyles on lots of different women. Long consult with senior stylist. Expressed my concern about not wanting short hair, how I've been growing it out for 5 months. Left with a wet look like I used LA Style product from the 1980s and about 5" chopped off as opposed to the 1/2-1" we discussed. Also totally wrong haircut than the one requested. Came home my husband said oh it's short. Showed my mom and she said "not so bad". $92 for wet look and not too bad? The stylist was very nice so I'm not going to call her out but FFS, this is the most talked about place in town. I expected better than to be butchered.

    I have been coming here for 2 years and though there are a lot of good stylists here, not all the stylists have the same strengths or talents, and that could be said for any salon. I do like this salon and the stylists are very nice, but I just haven't found one who is consistent or the best fit for me. I like to wear my hair in a longer length bob, just above my shoulders. I don't like layers or texturizing at the ends. It's so important for a stylist to be both skilled at cutting, but also at listening! The best stylists I have ever had in the history of all my haircuts have been really good listeners and consistently respectful regarding final length. Having said that, the stylists and management at Anthony Garubo Salon genuinely care about the clients and want clients to leave happy, and return again. If you receive a haircut or service that you were unhappy with, they act swiftly to make it right. Whether it means pairing you with a different stylist who might be a better fit or providing a complimentary service. They really do try to make clients happy and I can't say that all salons offer that level of care or concern for their clients.

    Nick is amazing! I tried to get a lob haircut at a different salon and was so unhappy with it that I was hesitant to ever try & get another. However, Nick at Anthony Garubo did such an incredible job. Truly exceeded my expectations. I don't think there has ever been a time in my whole life that I got *exactly* what I envisioned for my hair--I didn't even have a picture to show him. He was so sweet and really put in a lot of effort to make sure I was happy with my haircut. Also have to give a huge shoutout to the entire Anthony Garubo Salon that had the absolute best safety protocols under COVID. I've been super vigilant about staying in, but after hearing how many serious protocols they were taking, I felt comfortable enough to go. They do an immediate temperature check & provide you hand sanitizer as soon as you walk in (and the stylist sanitizes their own hands too!), everyone who was in the salon was required to wear masks at all times. I was really lucky that only one other client was in the salon who was at least 10 ft away--they are making sure to limit capacity. Also everything I touched was sanitized right before and after I made contact. They even sanitized my debit card when I got it back! I'm so happy with my cut and the entire experience.

    Salon is nice, clean, fairly large, average priced, diverse .. I have short pixie style hair & Sara does a great job!! Def recommended!

When I arrived, I was greeted warmly and after I used the restroom, I was escorted right to my room. They already scored points for me in this area! Appointments should start on time!!! Nina and Linda did my service today and they were very sweet! The service was unlike anything I've experienced. During the entirety of my service, some part of me was getting massaged. If it wasn't my neck and shoulders, it was my face or my arms and hands. I was not expecting all of that and was very happy and relaxed. Multiple tools were used on my scalp throughout the appointment, such as their fingers, gua shas and other tools to help the circulation in my scalp. There was at least 30-40 minutes of massaging before my hair even got washed. My only downside is that they use the same products for all hair types. I have very curly hair and with that comes dryness - it's the dryers hair type. They just kept telling me "your hair is dry" and it didn't seem like they had good product for my hair. After my appointment, I was headed to work so I called previously to ask if the hair is styled after the service and I was told yes "blow dried". My naive self thought that that ment a blow out. Guess not so naive, because I know there are places in the city that do finish off your service with a blow out. Really, what they meant was a light blow dry and the rest with air dry. This does not work for curly hair, sadly. My hair was a frizzy mess and was not their fault - that's just how curly hair is. You have to add product to it. So I had to run to the pharmacy to get product since I went directly to work after this. That is truly my only complaint, but to be honest, I would still book again and just know to bring my own styling products to apply after the massage and wash. The therapist didn't speak any English so with this language barrier, she did whatever she wanted and I just had to make the best of it. The massage tables were uncomfortable and the sheets and towels were old rough on my bare skin. The amount advertised for the 90 min or 120 min treatment is totally different from what you will be charged on your way out. I find it distasteful and rude to demand a tip greater than 18%. At one point I felt uneasy and disrespected after paying for the treatment in full and leaving a tip greater than 18%. I wasn't aware that it was mandatory to have to pay an additional amount on top of the fee and Tip that was already paid. I wasn't sure I was allowed to leave if I did not leave atleast 30% tip to satisfy the cashiers demand. Not sure if this is a regular practice, however I won't subject myself to this embarrassment and uneasy feeling of disrespect. 06-04-2026 - @approx. 1pm est I received a call from someone named Sophia, saying they are "the manager" . The first red flag was I was text thru an automated system from the business then I was called from someone calling from a Pakistan phone number +92 99 239080. Conversation started pleasant and immediately went left once I began to explain my issue with the service & treatment I received while patronizing this establishment. It almost seemed like a rehearsed script used for all complaints and issues. First I was told that "maybe there was a language barrier , that was misunderstood. 2nd she immediately informed me that she saw my review and began contesting "my experience at this spa". 3rd she then told me that she "reviewed camera footage" , and this is what didn't sit well with me. This wasn't a call to resolve or fix a situation with a customer, this was more confrontational. She also said I was free to leave at anytime due to the fact that I stated , I wasn't sure if I would be allowed to leave without increasing the tip. I wasn't sure also accused of leaving a false review of my experience and at that point I asked if it was possible to get an email contact for the owner. The last thing this "manager" said before I ended the call was "this is what I mean, I am trying to work with you" as if she was doing me a favor. No thank you. Have a pleasant day.

Firstly, walking in - my olfactory sense was attacked by a sewer-like smell. It was hard to manage and I asked the staff if they smelled the same - which they denied smelling such. Meanwhile, my friend was experiencing the same as I was. The staff barely moved an inch and showed zero energy upon our entering the store. Not one other single customer was in the store. I was immediately disappointed and even had to ask for help. Truly ZERO offer to assist!!!! I asked the one young lady (looking quite unkempt) to help select a great day face cream with SPF and an overnight facial moisturizer. She recommended a very random brand without understanding my specific needs. When I asked questions she googled for answers. Yikes!!! You don't even know the products or what you're dealing with. So clearly there is no proper training to guide or sell to a savvy customer ready to spend significant money. Needless to say, I purchased a familiar brand and it will be the last few hundred dollars they'll ever see from me. Their service is a complete failure, the store smelled worse than a public restroom in the hot summer, and zero knowledge demonstrated by the staff. Please provide these folks with proper training and how to present themselves appropriately. If they don't have an interest in the beauty and skincare business- please go work somewhere else where you can find passion and energy.
