Luckily we could, so we were given our room keys & parking pass. My boyfriend acccidently put the card near his magnet wallet & desensitized one of the keys. The kind gentleman at the front was very nice about redoing it for us mentioning that it happens often. Our room was on the first floor, so it was very convenient being able to park right by it. The room was a bit dated , but was very clean & came with a fridge & microwave which was a plus. Breakfast is served every morning which included some pastries, cereal, yogurt, & really yummy potato casserole. There was apple juice & the cider, coffee, & tea in the lobby area. This place had a very homey feel. I thought it was really cute that the casserole was being made right there by the woman working there. It is a perfect walking distance to the village. On the wedding date, they worked so seamlessly with the venue staff and our day-of-coordinator my involvement was no more than a hello and thank you. Seriously, why aren't all hotel pools & jacuzzis 24 hours? This needs to become the standard in the hospitality industry! The hotel is smoke-free, of course, but it didn't always used to be...or so it smells. There is a faint hint of it throughout the building, but not enough to be detrimental. Just noticeable, at times. Staff were helpful and friendly throughout our stay, particularly when we had to send some friends to retrieve a couple items from the Lost and Found that we'd accidentally left behind. Would definitely stay here again the next time we have a reason to stay in Wenatchee!

They seemed ecstatic to learn of such a dog friendly hotel and one without dog weight limits, as their dog was large like our German Shepherd. I also showed them a pic of the dog friendly package left on our bed, which included a dog blanket (for your pet to lay on your bed), a paw cleaning towel and dog treats. The front desk also had a dog treat & poop bags display. I've never seen such a dog friendly hotel and where each and every available room was also dog friendly! We stayed in the Superior King with Patio, which includes a private entry and gas fire pit. This particular accommodation is extremely convenient for potty breaks, rather than those rooms inside the Inn or on the 2nd floor, especially for those late night potty breaks. Plus, since the patio is fenced in, it allows your pup an area to roam off leash. It's also nice for those that might have loud pups, when left alone, while you're out eating or enjoying the pool, jacuzzi or sauna. The patio rooms are close to your parked vehicle, so that's another plus, if that option is necessary. The wonderful breakfast, which is included, was also a very welcomed hit each morning. This is not a Continental Breakfast, it's a full on breakfast, which rotated daily. I've never stayed at a place that was so dog friendly and will definitely stay at the Blue Elk Inn again on our next visit to Leavenworth!

We stayed a second time because they made my birthday so special and it was a lovely place to stay. This time: So far - very disappointed I called to see if we could check in early. This was at about 2:15 PM. The gal who answered clearly didn't want to be there and was very terse and unfriendly. She said she'd text if it was ready early. She never did. She clearly has no business being in hospitality. Soooo I checked in at 3:51 pm Room Ready. Very unfriendly. Gave me explanations to the key, a code to door and a dog towel. She never did text to tell me when it was ready. She never went over the details of the hotel, breakfast, other than that the hot tub was broken. I had to use chat GBT to find out when breakfast was. Icings on the cake? Last time we were here it was also my Birthday. They left a lovely bottle of bubbles. This time a happy birthday card some chocolate and a brand new wine opener with NO WINE. Last but not least, Roku tv loaded, opened live TV clicked on every channel and the screen turned black. I tried everything trying to get on turning it off making sure it was updated. It was not a user error. I can assure you. Said front desk lady was unhelpful. I tried what she suggested. No luck. She should've offered us a different room. The keurig was nice but no water. The self phone charging pads built in to the lamps seemed helpful to use but both sides did not work. Needless to say our stay has been grossly disappointing. Why did I pay $200 + when you have so many opportunities for lovely hotels elsewhere. Looking forward To speaking to management about our stay and how my complaints will be addressed.

Arrived right at check-in time which is 4pm. I had not received any access codes. Had to call and waited on hold, just trying to get in. Management said I had booked after they went home on Tuesday after they went home. Okay, but I arrived a full workday later. Bad excuse. Thursday, I hiked for hours. Feet and legs hurt, just wanted a hot shower. None of the doors worked even though I was using the same code. Had to call again and wait some more. I was told all the door keypads had "de-synced" or "gone offline". Had to wait for all the keypads to be rebooted remotely before I could get in again. Location is good. Central to downtown. Parking is well-designated. However, I never had so many access issues at a hotel or Air BnB before. Sadly won't be returning unless there's a screaming deal.

Working with Tim Putnam of Smokeblossom Catering turned out to be a completely and utterly…read morenightmare experience. Last winter (Dec 2017) we signed a contract with Tim to cater our wedding in the Methow (late summer 2018). We then promptly sent him a deposit check for $1,500. After not hearing anything for a week, we discovered that the deposit check had been stolen out of our mailbox at our home in Seattle. After this discovery, we immediately reached out to Tim to both send him a new check, as well as get his help by confirming with our bank that he had never received the stolen check. Tim had absolutely no empathy or understanding of the situation. He immediately backed out from the catering agreement which left us scrambling. In order for us to recover the stolen funds, our bank needed Tim to sign a document stating that he had not cashed the check and hadn't received payment. Tim absolutely refused to do this. He repeatedly accused myself, my fiance, and my sister (who was assisting with planning) of stealing the check ourselves, trying to steal his identity and personal information, and lying to him. Multiple times he hung up on us while telephoning and behaved completely irrational. We worked incredibly hard to make the process smooth for him. We spent hours on the phone with his bank and our bank, as well as the Seattle Police Department, trying to recover the $1,500 funds. We sent Tim written confirmation and documentation of our engagement and impending wedding, but he only threatened us and continued to accuse us of fraud and attempting to steal his personal information. In total, we spent over 50 hours trying to sort out this mess. We were absolutely stunned and heartbroken throughout the whole process, having not only lost a large portion of our wedding budget, but also being treated so poorly during what should have been a happy time. Our initial impression of Tim was positive, which is why we initially signed a contract to do our catering with him. However, as we worked to recover the funds (which we were never able to recover the $1,500 due to Tim's staunch refusal to confirm to the bank that he never received payment), it became extremely clear that we could never, ever recommend Tim and Smokeblossom Catering to anyone. I cannot speak to Tim's culinary abilities, but I would advise anyone interested in Tim Putnam and his catering company to steer clear of this irrational man and his business and his poor and distasteful business and communication skills. Thankfully, we found another fantastic and local catering company to work with, and the food at our wedding was lovely and enjoyed by all.

I did not try everything but it all looked good. The shrimp with a smokey aioli (?) was delicious: the fried chicken on a biscuit, the mushroom cups and the individual mac and cheese--fun! The desserts looked great too. They catered this event last year too and they are consistently wonderful.
