Amazing barber shop I have ever been too! When you first walk into the door you are greeted and feel welcomed. The red carpet they have out makes it feel as if you're in the big screen about to go into the Grammy's. All the barbers are talented but my favorite barber would have to be Sammy! When you go in and ask what you want he works with you! He also gives you recommendations if you are unaware of what type of style you want to have based on your type of hair (if you have light hair, dark hair, etc.). I have been coming here now for 5 months and I would not go anywhere else! These are the people I would trust with my hair cut every time and would definitely recommend them to anybody trying to get an outstanding haircut! VIP Barber Shop is a great place to get your hair cut. A energized group of Barbers who all seem to really know what there doing. This last cut was done by Boris, he gave me the "Executive Contour " cut. This name seems appropriate as now I feel I can run any company that might come my way. This cut will allow me to take charge and become the Executive I was born to be. I have had other Barbers at this location cut my hair as well and did a equally outstanding job. Got my hair cut by the owner, Arthur. Went in with somewhat of an idea of what I wanted and Arthur adapted it to fit my hair and what he thought would look best. The end result was hands down the best haircut I've got in Phoenix. I've been to quite a few shops lately and haven't felt as great coming out of them as I did today. LOVE getting my haircut here!!! FIVE STARS My hair is a little complicated and by complicated I mean coarse and 'nappy'. I usually go searching for the nearest black barbershop but VIP is the exception. They handle my ethnic hair like pros. I drive all the way from Gilbert and would drive even further for the awesome quality cuts I get here. It doesn't matter who's chair I'm sitting in, I can expect a sharp, clean cut and a steamy, cleansing towel afterwards. They put a lot of effort in to my hair and while cuts may take awhile I'm always satisfied with their attention to detail. This shop is ran by Russians but everyone feels welcome behind their doors. It's not a luxury spa-like experience but rather a cozy, refreshing escape for about 35 minutes. Their banter is always edgy and fun. If I'm trying to customize my style they're incredibly intuitive. It's a small place but very clean and accommodating with cold drinks at the front door and a variety of different pomades scattered evenly throughout. I was in a hurry and stopped in VIP Barber Shop while my wife shopped at the nearby Sprouts store. I was happy to have a short wait. I noticed the pricing was posted on the wall, starting with $20 for a cut. I was a little shocked upon walking in and seeing seated in the chair nearest the door a very hairy man with no shirt and no smock, getting his hair cut. I have never seen this before... At least not at a commercial barber shop. I looked around quickly, wondering if I had mistakenly stumbled into some other type of business, but noticed everyone else was appropriately dressed. I sat down in an available seat and began getting my haircut. The barber did listen and actually gave a pretty good haircut, including a neck shave. At the counter, he charged me $25 rather than the posted $20 (maybe I automatically received an upgrade service without my knowledge)? I was still a bit shocked as the shirtless man was now behind me and was in a rush to meet up with my wife as she had finished shopping that I simply paid the bill along with tip rather than discussing the price. Upon arriving home I noticed my face, ears, and neck were still covered in freshly and finely cut hair. Even the inexpensive strip mall chain barber shops do a better job at removing the unwanted hair timings from around my head. A few suggestions to the business... Maybe all customers should keep their shirts on, charge what is posted unless otherwise discussed, and invest in a brush to sweep away the cut and unwanted hair from the customers face, neck, collar, and ears. Maybe my expectations may seem high, but for $25 I expect a little effort in cleaning me up. read more

Went there to get a haircut before I go back to base and sat down with the lady. She asked what I wanted and I asked for a medium razor fade.
