Our go-to for men's cuts and pampering. Stan and staff are craftsmen with their scissors and clippers. Fades and cuts are well done. It feels like a man's shop yet still comfy for the ladies. FYI there's a nail shop next door if that suits you better while waiting. The wait is rarely very long if at all. We usually come on Sundays. My son has funky swirls that require certain care and are always well cut here. Not all barbers are able to take care of my men like 12st Barbers. He'll ask you what you want and stop before it's too late to make sure things are going the way you want them to go. Best time to get a haircut is late morning or around 4pm Monday- Thursday. I am a huge fan. I get my hair cut here every 3-4 weeks. I get the full shave treatment plus a haircut. It is nice, clean, TV's are always on stations I like, not alot of kids go in there to socialize and in general a really nice barbershop. I love getting the actual straight razor treatment. Not expensive at all and the longest I have ever waited was 15 minutes. They guys are friendly to chat with and no pressure. This is the only barber I go to and I live about 5 miles away. Do not bring your kids here! Butcher! Their website advertises that they "do it all"... haircuts and ear piercings, I should have known better. Nonetheless, I figured I'd give our local barber a try for my 4 year old son's haircut. After all, how hard is it to cut a 4 year old's hair? The shop is a decent looking barber shop. When we walk in there is a war movie on the tv. I ask if they mind if I change the channel, or better yet turn the tv off. Barber looks confused but says ok. My son has medium-long hair and the barber asks what we want to do with it. I respond to "take a little off and clean it up". He points to a generic barber shop poster and says "like picture number 8"? All 15 of the "options" that this shop apparently can do are very short. I said "no, can you just take a little off and straighten it out"? The barber says "like 1/2 inch", to which I responded was great. My son sat absolutely still and quiet (both firsts for him). Meanwhile, the guy tugged at his hair. The guy then proceeded to take about 1.5" inch off, and left the back jagged and the bangs at a diagonal angle. He asked me to look and see what I thought. As I circled to the other side of my son, I was horrified as I noticed about a 1 cm gash. I asked the guy if he cut him and he said "oh my, I must have". So now my kid has butchered hair and a scar to show for our visit to 12th Street Barbers. Hey, at least they gave him a lollipop. I suggest you avoid this place, particularly if you have kids. I have never posted a negative review on Yelp! This was horrendous and because my child was injured, I wanted to warn others. read more

After moving back to Phoenix over 2 years ago, and after having four failed attempts to find a regular barber shop I found 12th Street Barbers and have been coming here since. Stan does such a good job at such a great price, I can't give less than 5 stars. I'm getting better customer service and saving money. This beats the terrible haircuts and services I've gotten at other shops in the valley. They also have a great atmosphere as well. The shaving and hair products are all great, top of the line type stuff. They truly understand what customer service is all about, they definitely make you feel welcome, the shop is clean, and the guys are fun to shoot the shit with. Ok!!! I've been in AZ, awhile. I've been in plenty of Barber Shops, but this one takes the # 1 on my list. Some barber shops don't want to cut female hair, so it's hard to keep trying to find a good Barber, that actually knows about customer service, which other places lack of. Stan, wow he's amazing, he had a great sense of how to make a new customer feel welcome. In addition to be courteous, he can cut hair... And good. Went in here after searching for good ratings on nearby barbers. I saw a buddy gave this place a good review so I decided "why not?" I am very glad I did. I went in on a Saturday before I had to get engagement photos done. I walked in and was greeted immediately and warmly. I was seated right away and I was asked what was to be done. I have a spin on a common hair style, so I explained it. The older gentleman with glasses listened and made sure he understood correctly. He quickly went to work and asked as we went to make sure I was ok with the progress (such as where to begin the fade). Once he finished up, I got the classic straight razor and warm towel treatment. The decor was warm and inviting to me. The only thing I found could be an issue is he took his time for my cut. to me, 20-30 minutes for a GOOD hair cut is totally acceptable but nowadays a lot of people want it done super fast. It may have been just me but it took some time but nothing I found terribly long. Can't rush quality! I am definitely going back in a week or two when it is time for my trim and touch up! Next time I may even get their warm shave that they also offer! read more

Either I went to the wrong guy or something. All I asked for was a fade and to leave the top and he confirmed that he heard me and started to cut all the hair off the side. Not only that it was a horrible line up that I had to fix when I got home. The best part is when I told him to fix something he seem to get irritated. I had a better cut at super cuts.
