I returned to this salon this morning, after going to another salon for a few years. Yesterday, I went to my now "old" salon and got a terrible dye job. Thank goodness for Letty & Gladis of VIP who saved me today. They managed to take jet black hair into beautiful brown hair. The results are spectacular! I'm so, so thrilled with my hair now. They are more than reasonably priced Felix is my go-to guy for cuts and I'm not an easy client, this hair needs careful consideration and a strategy. He gets it, and gets it right. Every single time. Staff barely speak English and behave absolutely unprofessionally when in the wrong. On two separate occasions my haircut appointment was ignored. The first time it occurred I was left to wait in excess of 40 minutes. No apology or even acknowledgement of this was given. On the second occurrence after waiting 10 minutes I questioned the barber Javier. His response was "yeah but I working" knowing I was scheduled for that time slot. Called and made an appointment to guarantee that I will be seen on a Friday night. Walked in there no receptionist to welcome you. The staff barely speaks English luckily I know the spanish language so I was able to communicate. To my surprise I wasn't given an appointment. One of the male stylist agreed to blow out my hair, but had a major attitude. Didn't even speak to me or say hello to my husband. Worst place I've ever been. It's better to take 20 minutes walk to go another place. This place is totally DISASTER! Worker whose name is Javier is a time consuming person ever. Already two times I waited him to have a short man haircut, he said I needed to wait 25 minutes. First time I've waited 2,5 hours. And today I waited for 45 minutes. As they say I need to get an appointment. After I showed the door and the sign says "Sundays appointment only", they said I need to make an appointment for every day. I'm honestly really disappointed that I have to write a negative review but I have to warn my other curly haired girls. Long story short I did the big chop and have been letting my hair grow out for 2 years and with 1 haircut from this salon all that has gone to waste. I didn't give it 1 star bc they at least bleached it evenly but not even the color was the color I wanted. It was supposed to be platinum blonde with darker/light brown roots. The only thing that was semi decent was the blow out. Now that I've washed my hair my fro is in a terrible shape. Thank god the integrity of my curls is still there. I'm just super disappointed because I specifically asked on the phone if the hairstylist knew how to cut curly hair but I knew it was a lie once he straightened and then asked to cut it. Overall I take responsibility bc I should've known a salon that describes itself as being European probably wouldn't know how to cut my type of curl pattern. On 12/22/21 I went to this salon for my color and highlights. They changed receptionists. The old one was courteous and helpful. The new one, Amanda, is rude and unprofessional. I came in at 9:50 AM for my 10AM appointment. I sat there for 35 minutes waiting for my stylist, Mr. F. I tried to call him on my cell phone but there was no reception. I asked Amanda for help and she told me she didn't know the password. However, the owner, Gladys, told me to ask Amanda. Amanda has been abrupt with me before but this goes beyond rude! At 10:30AM I asked Amanda again and she told me that Mr. F would be delayed. SHE SHOULD HAVE TOLD ME THIS WHEN I WALKED IN. I also blame Mr. F. He called my Long Island number at 9:30AM where I was staying with a friend. How could I be in the salon at 10 AM if I waited for his call there? He should've confirmed the night before. When I told him what Amanda did, he said that he didn't want to have problems at the end of the year. I am the client. My hair color cost A LOT of money. He should've been concerned with my needs. In addition, I had to pay by check because the shop, which always took credit cards, would only take cash. Good thing I had a check because I don't carry tons of cash in my wallet. MOST harmful of all to my hair was Mr. F's lack of concern for same. Three months ago when I had color on my hair, he said it needed deep conditioning but DIDN'T tell me what to buy. Yesterday, when I asked him what to get, he said I should buy it in the drug store as the shop was very expensive. BUYER BEWARE: Do not go to this salon. To conclude, Mr. F never apologized for being late. Amanda should be fired. She not only is rude but I had to ask Gladys if it was okay to pay by check as Amanda wouldn't answer me. Worst experience ever. I showed the picture of the color I wanna get to Iri and I told her multiple times that I wanna be blonde, but naturally blonde. Iri doesn't speak English, so she asked the administrator to help us with the translation. Then she asked if I wanna keep my roots darker, and I said "yes". Just like on the picture. So what she did - she gave me highlights and to the curls in between she put very dark grey. I noticed that even on the wet hair, and I told her - that it is too dark. Iri kept saying "No, no, no, it will be very beautiful." When she washed my hair I was completely stunned and destroyed. How the hell person, who studied colouristics doesn't know that white and dark grey equal grey in combination? It's completely not professional. For all these experiences they charged me $250, which is absolutely insane. This is Manhattan price and what do I pay for? That somebody damaged my hair and gave me 50 shades of grey??? I must say that they suggested to fix my hair next time when I come for free, otherwise they will return my money. So I came the next day, on Sunday. This time administrator shampoo my hair and put instead of grey - beige, but it doesn't work. In addition to that my hair turned to complete dry and I am so desperate right now. This was my fourth trip to the salon my hairdresser was Catalina. I say was because they will not see me there again. They have the worst costumer service I have ever experienced . The first two trips were fine I made an appointment went there I was serviced after a few minutes wait. My third trip I made the appointment for 10 am I get there the hairdresser was no where to be found, they made a few phone calls then she showed up after 45 minutes with a,million excuses,. I figured I give them another chance anyone can make a mistake right? Ok, I came to this salon visiting from Boca Raton, Florida. I have to say I was impressed with the salon. Visually it is appealing and looks very much like what a true hair salon should look like. For a Guttenberg location, it was aesthetically appealing compared to the other run down salons in the area. A woman named Iris did my hair. I could tell she was very seasoned and an experienced hair dresser, she did a single process color, cut and blowout for me. She did a lovely job. The color came out looking very rich and even, however I found it pricey. I was charged $160. Living in Boca Raton in an area that's very affluent and pricey, I get charged $120 in a high end salón for the same service.. I came here because my girl back home is away on a maternity leave and I was in town visiting my sister. Overall, the service here was great but for Guttenberg, I found the pricing to be rather high. I don't think I'll return here for that reason. But if you want a good colorist go see Iris.. she's really good read more

I've been doing my hair with the owner, Gladys, since I was 16 years old. Never disappointments and her prices are very fair compared to other salons. She does get booked, but I always book my appointments way in advance. Certain jobs take longer than others and when I go, I set my Day aside because I know I will be there for a while.
