The ambiance is comfortable and well-decorated (though not overdone), with an emphasis on the owner's past work. Gorgeous silhouettes of past clients' completed styles line the walls in tasteful, artsy frames. The owner and stylist at the salon is experienced, creative, and up-to-date. Most importantly, she LISTENS. My hair ended up looking amazing, and it was exactly what I asked for. Too often do stylists take too much creative license with my hair. Sharon was able to masterfully blend the benefits of her expertise and craft within the parameters I requested. That kind of service is difficult to find regardless of what you're willing to spend. My Daughter Marisa found Artistic hair on the Internet as a place to get our hair done for her wedding. We had never went there before and had never met Sharon. My daughter is of mixed racial heritage and I am Italian. We were not prepared for the most wonderful experience we had. First of all Sharon is wonderful. She is warm and friendly and made us feel like old friends. Her shop is spotless and nicely decorated. Most of all she is great hairdresser. She was able to handle both our hair types with ease. She understood what we wanted, gave great input and more than delivered on the day of the wedding. She has an eyebrow expert named Marjorie that is amazing. What an incredible experience! During the four years I have lived in NJ, I have never visited a salon more than once. I tried several out, but was never pleased enough to return. Until now! Sharon is my new hair guru. I knew I wanted 4-6 inches cut and layers that worked with my natural hair texture, but that's about all I knew. Sharon worked with my face shape, hair, part (including the pesky cowlicks!), and preferences for upkeep and gave me a beautiful cut that can be worn in a variety of styles. I moved from London to Hoboken this year and was worried sick about whether I would find a good hairdresser as good as the one I left behind in the UK. I have been going to Sharon for at least five years now and I would be lost without her. Originally located in Hoboken, I followed her to Jersey City because she's THAT good. Over the years I've had several different hairstylists, some better than others. They all had something in common: they burned my scalp when they relaxed it, they took three plus hours to relax and style my hair or they burned me AND took long! I had gone through this so much of my life that I thought it was normal. Sharon does a beautiful job, without the pain and in two hours or less (for a relax and style). Sharon and her staff are absolutely wonderful. She has been my stylist for 4 years and I will never have my hair cut by anyone else. Sharon is a true artist who has done amazing things with my hair. I have never had as many compliments on my hair as when I've been here.
