Love these guys. They've been in the same spot for 25 years and they've seen Hollywood change over time. I always bring my dry cleaning here but what also sets them apart is their fast quality tailoring-- quick hems and alterations, and the lady who does the sewing is GOOD. I always bring my jeans here for custom length and they even shortened a trench coat I had, to give it an updated look-- lining, zipper and all. . The two stars are because I think Paco means well. There's a 60% chance that my clothes are properly cleaned. That is to say, for every 10 pieces I drop off, there are 4 items that need to be cleaned again, due to stains not being removed. If I can see them upon picking the clothes up, one would assume that they're inspected prior to being given to the customer. This is not the case. On my last trip, having to leave a pair of pants to be cleaned again, I asked Paco does he employ any sort of quality control, as the re-cleaning is time consuming for them and myself. Speaking of time consuming, dropping off or picking up your order can be time consuming if the other gentleman is there in Paco's absence. Again, I'm sure that he means well, but it shouldn't take in excess of 10 minutes to drop off or pick up items in an empty store. I've learned not to drop off or pick up items if I'm in a rush. If this place weren't a block away from my apartment, I'd find another cleaners. That said, they're always cordial. read more

Nice friendly people they do a great job on tithe dry cleaning for a good price. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is getting anything patched from them. I'm glad it was a cheap work pants. But when they patched a hole the sewing was pretty bad. So I'll just stick with the dry cleaning. read more

VIP cleaners is really really awesome. For about $6-$9 a trip (depending on how many items I take in) I can get my work uniforms cleaned, pressed, and sparkling new for the next week of work. Best of all they have a great one-day service. Paco is incredibly nice and friendly. The only downside is they are not open Sundays, but hey - it's the lords day - everyone needs a break. Having short legs and a big bottom makes it hard to buy and wear jeans off the rack. Not a problem anymore. I can get my new jeans tailored very well and quickly (most I've waited was two days) for $10 which isn't too bad. What makes it worth it is that the lady who runs the place is SUPER nice and her cash register will say "Nice to see you again. It's been a while" when she types in your phone number (a little Hal from 2001, but still...) The same day dry cleaning has saved my arse on more than one occasion. read more

Okay, dry cleaning is hard to review. Most of the time places will get your dry cleaning done, and that's it. Some of alterations as well. But unless a place ruins a garment or leaves clothing dirty, it's hard to put a rating on a dry cleaner. Unless, of course, the owner is one of the friendliest men around. And Paco definitely fits that bill. I've always been happy with VIP Cleaners. They always have my clothing ready when promised, and if I need something quickly, they're very flexible (they also have same day service, for a bit more cash, which is worth it if you're in a pinch). The hours of VIP cleaners are great since they don't close until around 7 PM, so I can pick up my clothes after work if I need to. VIP Cleaners has great prices and a convenient location in the heart of Hollywood. They provide alterations if you need them as well. If any dry cleaner deserves five stars, its VIP Cleaners. read more

The owner is very nice however, the alterations service is very poor... I gave them my $150 Reformation jeans to alter the waist & they did a horrible job, it looks so funny & sloppy. Same visit, I also gave them my dress pants & they altered it from the back as opposed to the sides. I ended up with pant's pockets very close to each other, sloppy & not straight, dumped into trash. I am very frustrated & nothing can be done to reverse that damage. read more

I should have read the reviews before coming here. Here is my experience at this crap-hole of a cleaners. Visit 1: Drop my suit off at the cleaners on Saturday before I went Downtown. Told them I needed it back by Monday so I could work on Tuesday. They said it would be done by 5PM on Monday. Visit 2: Get to the cleaners to pick up my suit that should be done. Shirt and jacket are done, but not the pants. They tell me that it should be done in a half an hour. Cool. I'll wait the 30 minutes. Visit 3: It is now 3:30 and I don't have my suit. I go back and tell them to give me my stuff so that I can get it finished somewhere else. I would pay for the jacket and shirt. They said the pants are not at the location and the woman said she was going to go there to check the status in 10 minutes. "The machine is broke and they're fixing it," she says. I leave without my things, and I have to be suited up for work by 7! Visit 3: No word on my pants so I tell them to give me what they do have ready and I will just buy a new pair of pants. I ask them approximately how long before my pants are actually ready. They said "For sure, maybe tomorrow." FOR SURE, MAYBE TOMORROW? Are you serious?! I had to BUY a pair of pants just to work tonight!!! Now I understand why they have so many 1-star reviews. Not a good way to deal with a first time customer. read more

I hate talking bad about a business unless I really had a BAD experience. I initially went to VIP cleaners because it was close to where I live.. The cleaners seems to be ok.. but the woman who tailors is a 'BIATCH". I've been there three times for alterations.. The first time it wasn't done on the day as promised.. in fact it wasn't ready until two days later. Thank god I didn't need the items right away. So I waived it off. The second time it was done on time. So I decided to go back. I brought in 2 designer dresses for hemming on a Saturday. The manager said to call on Monday to find out when it would be ready. I waited and called on Thursday am instead since I got busy with work. He said it would be ready for pick up in the afternoon. So I went back. The seamstress said it wasn't done. A helper at the store pulled out my two dresses from under a basketfull of what looked like dirty laundry.. I was pissed!! I didn't ask them to be cleaned but to be tailored. She just smiled and said it won't be ready until the following week! She had this smirk on her face. No apology or anything. I got even more livid. I took the dresses and left . I couldn't believe how arrogant she was. I will bring it back to my cleaners ( Holloway in West Hollywood) at least they have good customer service and do great work even though they are a bit on the pricey side. Will forego the convenience for some sort of customer ervice. VIP has NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. They don't believe in finishing their customers' clothing on time. VIP is not worthy of it's name! I brought in a dress with a small hole. They asked me when I needed the dress. I said rush order. But they still said it would be ready Friday. I dropped the dress off on Tuesday. When I showed up on Friday the dress was not ready. The clerk told me that the tailor was out of town until Monday. I asked them why didn't they call and tell me that. The clerk just looked confused. This is the second time their tailor has not delivered. But poor management and communication make me not want to go back. How can you promise your customers something then not deliver? I'm very upset and will search for a new dry cleaner. I wasted four days because I trusted these people. read more

I brought them my laundry, they washed and dried it in 2hours (!!), folded everything perfectly (even paired the socks and put them together!!) and only charged me 18$ where another place wanted 60,80$ (!!!) for the same 15pounds. Well, out of ten pieces returned, 10 were not even cleaned. They were hot pressed dirty, so they are basically ruined now. Two BCBG sweaters came back with holes in them and one BCBG tshirt came back with crinkle burns. Obviously caught in the press. So, I paid $150 to have about $1500 in clothing ruined. Now I have nothing to wear for my business trip and I couldn't be more unhappy. DO NOT GO HERE. Just had to come back and add to my review. Well, it gets even worse. My clothes have been worn by another person and then hot pressed and put on hangers. I am finding the worst kid of stains on my BCGG and All Saints Dresses. Like some young woman took them out and partied in them and did some not so savory things in them. I thought they just didn't clean them. Now I think somebody at VIP wore my clothes.
