We tried to reach him via phone, text, and email for several months. To this day our backyard is a mud pit. At this point, we just want a refund of the significant deposit we paid him. Robert only recently responded about a month ago when I said I was writing an honest review of our horrendous experience. He offered no explanation for his disappearance only excuses. And no, we still have not received a refund as of January 26, 2026. We are out a big chunk of money. It's been a complete nightmare. This has been the most disappointing and disheartening experience we have ever had. Avoid doing any type of business with Robert Heltzel at Total Turf and Greens.

First, we had a nice backyard, but we had a yard that sloped to the house that never grew grass very well and always suffered with some drainage issues. Phil recommended and put in a paver potio that included great looking stones, firepit and pergola to give it character and style. I cannot say how much we love this patio. We cook down there with our grills/smokers, we have weekend fires in the fire pit for s'mores and cooking, and we love to just sit and relax as we hear the birds and watch the kids play on this transformed area. Second, we bought the house for the yard in the past for the trees and adventure, but our kids wanted grass to run/play. This is where Phil recommended putting in a retaining wall and leveling or backyard (with appropriate grade for drainage) to put a beautiful grass filled yard. This involved lots of prep, grading, tree removal and planning but the results are amazing. Phil not only put in zoysia grass and planned plants, replants, and beds all around my house, but had the new sprinkler systems put in to help water the investment. Phil also put grass all around the house and even put in yard lights (which I have always wanted) to shine on the house and tree canopy's which makes things look so great at night. Phil even helped me put in a tree swing between two trees since we had to take out a dying tree that we previously had a swing on. Third, and most importantly, Phil is great to work with... I am an engineer so I am detailed and I want to discuss things regularly. Phil ALWAYS had the time to talk, plan, and make sure that we were lock step in what we were doing with the yard and what the expectations were from both parties. Lastly, when the job is completed, Phil doesn't go away. He still welcomes calls to check on things, come look at the job and make sure things look right, and give advice on anything that his team has helped put in. When you invest in something that matters you want to give it to a person who is going to care about your investment as well and that is what Phil does. I have a high standard of how I want things to look when they are done at my house. Many times I do these things on my own because I can do it well. I have also learned to hire people who are qualified to do excellent work because I know I won't regret it for the years to come when I look at that investment over the years. Investing with Sarros Landscaping was a no brainer. We love our house, our yard, our new way of living, and I can't wait for the years to comes being out there and enjoying the outdoors.

Legacy Outdoor Living was contracted to do two phases of our backyard renovation. The initial phase…read morewas completed according to expectation. However, the second phase was not. We grossly overpaid and Nelson seemed to only care about being compensated for the subpar work he had completed. The sprinkler system that was installed did not work properly, the trees that were planted were the not the size he contracted or promised and one fell over when it rained, the mulch in our beds are too thin, he did not cover the entire beds with landscaping fabric, his 'team' killed 1500 worth of trees on our property and he told us there was no proof (despite their being) and he gave us rocks instead of boulders and wanted to charge to swap them out. Whenever an issue was presented, he stated that the project was completed according to the contract and scope. If you desire anything different, he will try to charge even more. We can grossly dispute things he did not do, or corners he cut, based on HIS contract and scope. We took the time to reach out to Nelson directly to make notice of our dissatisfaction and he failed to respond. Based on his lack of care and regard, we are left with considering taking legal action based on the easily proven contract/scope discrepancies. We should have been on heightened alert and RAN the second time when he stated that his friends failed to contract him for work they had recently done. Landscaping projects can be quite costly, my advice to anyone would be to work with someone that you can trust and does work that they are able to stand behind with confidence!!! *two stars is only because the first experience was not as horrid*
