I am so glad I did. They have such a personal touch and true care and compassion for animals. You can see it from the front desk girls to the assistance to the veterinarians. I have had different pet sitters in the past, and as of last year I've had a dear friend who has kindly watched them. And she will continue to do so for very short trips when she's available to help out. But for longer trips and also to have a permanent go-to sitter, I will often be relying on The Comforted Kitty. Here's how it works: - they send you the link to their system - you have a LOT of paperwork online to fill out, be forewarned. Mine took a few hours as I have many cats due to an unforeseen and unplanned situation (you have to fill out info for each cat and it's a LOT, but I was able to cut and paste for much of it). PLAN TIME for this, you cannot knock this part out in a few minutes. However it's very complete info and it's basically the equivalent of you being there in person and them writing every single thing you say down. This helps with matching you to the correct sitter, but also gives them all food, medicine, doctor, emergencies etc info. And it's one and done. You don't fill this out each time. It is a lot of work upfront but then you're done and it's on file for any of them to see. So in case your sitter due to something unforeseen cannot make it, another sitter can easily pop in and replace because she or he will have access to everything on your cats' profile(s). It makes for a seamless transition if needed. - they have a free meet and greet of 30 minutes with your potential sitter they have chosen for you (I believe you can also choose someone directly but I may be mistaken on this) - you can go in on the app or the website (both worked well) and choose the dates needed and the times needed. You can have specific shift times like between noon and 5pm amongst others, or you can select "any time." - if you need to cancel or add days, it's very simple to do there as well - they charge your credit card on the day you get back not before you leave which I really appreciated - you can leave a tip for your sitter in case at your home or arrange with the sitter after to send a tip (I left a small amount in case since this was a new service and I didn't know how well the sitter would do - when I got back I sent her more via Zelle, she earned it!) - unlike any previous sitting service I have used, this one is very business-like. You'll get a notification both in app and email that your daily report is waiting. And it's very detailed: the time entering and leaving, how much the cat(s) went to the bathroom, ate, drank, and updates on play time and activities including pictures. You can reply to the sitter in the portal but it also comes through as a text so it was easy to communicate. I was on my first ever trip to Europe for a choral tour and I had no glitches at all in communication. Shannon here in Dallas, Texas was the young woman that was selected for me based on my cats and time slot availability. I want to give a shoutout to her for helping me with a very unexpected event that happened while I was gone! It was 330am where I was and I ended up needing to call her because of it. I know I was very out of it and she was very patient with me and my half-awakeness. She handled the situation perfectly and I was able to relax knowing things at home were ok. This is exactly why you pay a pet sitter well - they're not just watching your pet, they're also watching your house. They have limits legally on what they can do, and understandably, but it was a relief knowing my situation was taken care of (it dealt both with one of my cats and the house - too long a story!). This place is absolutely heaven sent. We had gone to another vet in mckinney and they just never…read moregave us the right answers or even seemed to lead us in the right direction with what was wrong with our Sweet Penny. After we decided it was time to put her down we decided that we were going to do it at Metro Paws and I don't regret a single thing. The genuine care for her was absolutely amazing. There was peanut butter and other treats in the room when it was time, the lights were dim and even though they closed 12 that day they did not by any means rush this devastating time. Along with her urn box we received a little bunch of her fur in a jar, a certificate of cremation, and a cement paw print. 2 weeks following they sent a card signed by all of the employees and it also included 5 pictures of her paw and nose prints I can't even express how happy I am with this vet.

My 5 month old kitten broke his leg and I was so scared about what to do. I was able to make an…read moreappointment the following day and their ortho was available to get a good look at his X-rays. They determined it was a clean enough break to cast him and let it heal on its own. My kitten was so crafty he escaped his cast several times but the staff was kind enough to let me bring him back in to rewrap it. After a week of that, they xray again and determined it was healed enough to let him go without it but to keep him calm in a room without stuff to climb and jump on. Walter is lucky he's a kitten and healed quickly! The staff was so friendly and welcoming and answered every question I had about my kitten as well as the costs along the way. Everything was laid out before I signed for treatment. Overall great experience. Thank you!

My two puppies recently had dental cleanings, and even though it's a routine procedure, I was still nervous. Handing over your pets and waiting while they're under anesthesia is never easy. Dr. Farr and her team were incredible from start to finish. The communication, updates, and genuine care they showed made a stressful day feel so much easier. What stood out most was how personal the experience felt. I never felt like just another client or that my puppies were just another appointment. It was clear that Dr. Farr and her team truly cared about them and understood how much they mean to me. When I picked them up, I knew they had been well cared for, and the thoughtful follow-up afterward only reinforced that feeling. Great veterinary care is important, but finding a team that treats your pets like family is something special. Every business has had to adapt and adjust the way they interact with their customers, patients, or whatever. Going from normal to locked down there was no time to prepare and is a learning process for everyone. Even customers have had to adapt. We had never dropped Tate off by himself for an appointment at a Vet before. Always stayed while vet did examination/shots. I can only imagine how confusing all of the new covid protocols are for pets and owners. Metro has taken care of Tate and treated him and us (his overly protective dads) very kindly. And with compassion. The communication at metro was lacking a little at the beginning but they have more than made up for it. We lost (Zero) about 4 years ago after a friends, much larger, dog bit him dog on the head. Zero was only 5 when it happened. We got Tate shortly after he had to put Zero down. Unfortunately because of that we are a bit overly protective with him. We had gone to Metro a couple times in the past and never had an issue. The 2 previous visits, years ago, were great.

We went there in June 2024 to check what is wrong with Walter, since he was vocalizing at night rather often. Jennifer Hewitt prescribed him Methimazole. After treating our cat with that medication Walter felt really bad, started to hide like he is about to die. I cut the prescribed dose in half and gave him also not every day how that doctor said, but every other day, and still he felt bad. She prescribed him 2.5 mg twice a day. Then started to give him 2.5 once a day, the 2.5 mg every second day. But he felt worse and worse. Before that treatment Walter would run occasionally around a house, like all cats do. But not anymore after that deadly treatment. In March 2025 Walter passed away.

Last time I had a 4 day trip, they failed to send a sitter and were wholly unreachable via phone and email for the duration of the trip. A WEEK LATER they emailed apologizing and offering a future credit for these services. I will never use their services again. I am lucky enough to have a friend who could swoop in and save the day but this could've been a terrible situation. Do not trust them.
