VIP nail is conveniently located in Meridian Crossing plaza. Starbucks is right next door so if you enjoy a bev with your pedi, it's super convenient. Upon entering you will notice the open floor plan and tasteful decor. I am always warmly greeted by someone although there is a kiosk near the reception desk for self check in. You should also know ahead of time that the prices quoted are if you're paying in cash. There is a service fee for paying with card. I always enjoy my time with my nail tech, she is always friendly and professional. Everything is organized and well cared for. I have no complaints about the pedicures/manicures/waxing services, as those are my regular selections.

Got dip from here and it's some of the worst dip I have ever gotten. Super chunky, not smooth, and pieces of dirty stuck in the top coat. I saw the reviews were good but I would not recommend this place. Booked an appointment online with someone who had promising reviews and they paired me with a random person who I did not choose. I really tried to like this place given I live up here now but there are no good nail salons in east Lansing, gonna have to drive home anytime I wanna get my nails done from now on.

Nail growing back in and where it filed away

I walked in for a basic manicure. It was the WORST one I've ever had. The man that did my manicure did not cut the dry skin or hang nails around my nails but yank them out. Also instead of pushing my cuticles back he used a sanding tool to remove them along with a significant layer of my nails. It was a rush job to get me in and out with as a little effort as possible. Save your money and find a better quality nail salon than this one. It shouldn't be hard to find one. The bar was set very low. Attached is a picture of my nail growing out and the ridge of where it was filed down.

I just want to say that the customer service at this salon is impeccable. After my last visit (which really wasn't that bad), the owner and another employee reached out to me personally to rectify my previous experience and even followed up with me months later. I was and still am impressed at their dedication to making their customers happy, and for that reason alone, I will continue to recommend this shop to others. They are still going above and beyond with COVID precautions- wiping chairs down after customers, changing gloves after cleaning, shields at each station, etc. I feel very safe coming here. Amy did my nails this time. She was a joy to have and did amazing on my nails I also got a gel pedi for the first time that also came out well. I think this may be one of the few times in which I had my nails done correctly. I had an appointment for a dip manicure. The nail tech took her time and did so many things that I had to question all previous experiences. It is quiet and social distancing is maintained. The environment is very serene. Staff are patient as you choose your colors and their is none of the shaming that I have experienced in other places. I will be patronizing them as long as the service continues to be this way

I've been coming here ever since they opened last year, the place is always clean and follows the Covid protocol. All of their nail techs are experienced and does a great job. Amy is my primary technician and she never let me down, her work is superb and I always get a good compliment. Today, is beyond amazing, my holiday themed nail art is simply the best!!! I am in LOVE with this place. 1. I made my appointment online same day! 2. This place is GORGEOUS and clean and not your typical nail salon 3. My nail look fabulous and Mai took her time and paid so much attention to detail (which is the most important part) My best friend got a pedicure from Amy and said she loved it. Their pedicures are customized in house and are all natural. We've been looking for "our salon" and have tried almost all of them in Lansing and surrounding area but never found one that we were pleased with. We ironically went to another salon earlier that day for a full set for my friend and a pedicure for myself and they didn't have time for my full set and her pedicure so we tried this place as well. We're so sad we didn't just do all our services here but we will next time! Mai even fixed my friends nails that were crooked. A++ this place is amazing and a new hidden gem. Also pricing is pretty spot on with other places. So for the quality of service it's a great deal and price. :)

Covid aside everything was terrible. Worst nail experience I have ever had. This was my second time coming in and the nail technician only gave 2 options. 1. Acrylic 2. Dip After only telling me about getting a full set (the most expensive option), I indicated that I was new to the experience and wasn't sure of all the options she made no point to get to explain the nail process or the difference between the options. There is NO place in the store telling what their prices or services are. During the service I told the nail tech (Amy) that I thought the nails looked thick and chunky and she told me that it was the way it supposed to look that way and later when I gave feedback on the service she told me I had consented to the service while it was happening. Overall Amy is a terrible nail tech without any consideration for explaining or fixing the mistakes she makes. If you want to waste money then this is your place. To top it off I was asked if I was born in America!

I typically see Amy and she does an amazing job! I'm very picky on the shape of my nails and she does it perfectly. Photos speaks for itself! I recommend.

I have never written a review before, but I am so dissatisfied that I have decided to change that. I went here for the first time right before a vacation because my usual place was booked and VIP had pretty good reviews. I had an appointment for a mani/pedi and when I got there I asked for shellac for the mani, but polish for the toes. I was told no because I had not worn sandals and that I "needed" shellac since I was going on vacation. I chose not to argue because I didn't feel like this was a huge deal, just irritating. Next, the woman painting my toes brought over several other shades of the color I had picked. I also found this irritating as she tried to make me choose a much different color than the one I had picked and seemed disappointed when I opted for my original choice. She then proceeded with my pedicure without issue. However, the man who was doing my manicure at the same time asked whether I wanted rounded or square shaped nails (my nails), I said rounded and he responded with "I am doing square" and was already shaping my first nail. I left unhappy and already had decided that I would not be returning, but two days later while on vacation my first nail chipped. By the time I returned home exactly a week after my appointment I had two nails with no polish as it had all chipped off, two badly chipped nails, and one slightly chipped nail. I called and explained what happened and was told that I could come back and they would be sure to fix it, the woman on the phone apologized but when I went in the to the man, who originally did my nails, fixed them and rather than apologizing for not doing a good job the first time he tried to blame for me how I held my hand under the blue light. He redid the nails that were badly chipped and put another coat on the other nails. Two days later I have another chip. Mind you, I do not do anything physical enough to chip my nails this quickly and in the several years that I have been getting shellac manicures I have NEVER had this problem. read more

Best shellac in the area! I have tried several salons over the years and this place blows everywhere else out of the water. The atmosphere is clean, bright and relaxing, and the service is impeccable. I walked in and was pleasantly surprised...not your average run-of-the-mill nail salon. The nail technician was very detail oriented and did not rush at all. There is nothing worse than getting a rushed manicure and leaving with uneven and "clumpy" polish ! I especially loved the different hand scrubs available when you wash your hands at the sink. All of the employees were incredibly friendly and welcoming. At the end of my manicure, the nail tech offered me a coffee in a to-go cup! I visited the salon over a month ago and my manicure lasted 4 weeks without any chips. That is a record! Sometimes shellac peels or cracks after 10 days. I will definitely be back again soon. read more

Tried going here in between classes because they said walk in welcomes, although was turned away without an explanation. After trying to make it easier on them they still said no. I am upset because they have the best reviews in the area, however, despite their advertisement walk ins are NOT welcome. read more

The place is beautiful and the staff is very friendly. I had a powder dip on my nails and she did an ok job, but lacked attention to the "clean-up" once she finished (there was some residual "polish adhesive" or whatever the clear stuff is called that the powder sticks to) and the sides and tips of my nails were stuck to my skin. They really need to get very thin nail files to use. Would probably try another salon before going back to this one even though the place was so nice. read more

I went here two weeks ago for a gel manicure and the technician told me about the dip option and how it was healthier for your nails and it lasts longer than the standard gel shellac. Hearing this I went with that option, and unfortunately less than two weeks after getting them done I've found cracks in the dip and a piece has cracked off. Overall the experience was great, but i don't know if I would get dip again. Update: 6/7/21 I went back today to get the cracks in the dip fixed. Amy and everyone were great and she told them that I'll need two base layers for the dip with my nail type. We went with that and she redid my nails and they look amazing now. I was very happy with the service and I will definitely be coming back. read more

There is no better place around to get your nails done than VIP Nail Bar. I have been receiving services from this location for over a year by Amy and have NEVER been disappointed! She listens and ALWAYS does top notch work. On the occasions that Amy has been off or unavailable, Maile and Lily have taken amazing care of me as well. If you walk put of here disappointed and not feeling like family, you may need to look in the mirror and ask yourself why! My girlfriend and I made appointments for pedicures. We received excellent service and enjoyed our time there! We then proceeded to dinner reservations right around the corner. During our meal I noticed I didn't have my phone and just assumed I left it in the car. As soon as we finished and went to the car I saw my phone wasn't there. We rushed back to the salon, only it was now closed. I went there in the morning when they opened and they said, "Oh yes, your phone, we tried to catch you." I've been going to VIP for a year now and this is hands down the BEST nail salon in the area!! All of the nail techs are wonderful and the shop is beautiful and super clean! It is a calming and relaxed environment and my nails always look amazing after a visit! Maile is my dipping powder queen and is always willing to help me decide shades (because there's so many cute ones it's hard to pick!) and will suggest cute designs too! I have been going to VIP Nail since they first opened. I have had services from different nail techs at the salon and they are all very skilled and I would highly recommend all of them. My personal favorite is Amy T. I get dip and the color stays on forever. I usually have to go back only because my nails are getting too long. I also love to get pedicures from Thai. I have been coming to VIP Nail Bar since it opened and I can honestly say it's my favorite nail salon. Every technician is friendly, knowledgeable, and skilled. Throughout COVID-19, they have kept their salon exceptionally clean and observe all hygiene and cdc recommendations, making me feel safe. I love VIP Nail Bar! I have been going to Amy for quite sometime to get a dipping powder manicure. She is fantastic and always does an excellent job. I always get so many compliment on my nails. I visited Nails VIP 3 weeks ago for a set of eyelash extensions and I'm absolutely thrilled with the results! The staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and made sure I was comfortable and understood the process before we started. The application process was very smooth and painless, and the finished product looks absolutely amazing - my eyes look brighter and more defined. I'm from the greater New York area and I have tried many different nail salons before. I recently moved and have been trying out places. However... this place is not it. I got dip powder nails and I had asked them to make it a bit thinner but she rolled her eyes and did not accommodate to my needs. I went home right after and filed my nails because I was so unhappy with the results. Will not be returning. Only giving 2 stars because it's clean inside. read more

I have been coming to VIP Nail Bar pretty much from the time they opened. I absolutely LOVE this place. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Maile is the BEST for dipping powder. Other techs have done my pedicures and I have absolutely no complaints with any of them. Very professional and kind. I am also really impressed with how they have handled the pandemic. such a great nail salon. lily, my nail tech, was very sweet and did a wonderful job. The salon is big, clean, and gorgeous. I didn't have an appt and I stopped in 40 minutes before they closed (I didn't realize!). And they still got me in for a pedicure. the pricing was very reasonable, especially compared to other nail salons nearby. new favorite in the okemos/lansing area! read more

I have been coming to see Maile for my lashes and I couldn't be happier! She is so sweet and my lashes always look beautiful! I'm able to go two and a half weeks between fills and still have plenty of lashes to work with. i love it here and would highly recommend everyone to go see Maile for their eyelash extension! read more

I came in to get my nails and my eyelashes done. My nail tech did EXACTLY what I asked her to & she did it phenomenally. My eyelash appointment was amazing too. Took less than an hour where normal places take almost two hours for a full set. Definitely coming here again. read more
