They're are truly busy during the weekends because they do a great job. I called and whoever answered lied to me and said that Amy had time to do my nails. Nails turned out sloppy and crooked, and then when I went up to pay they charged me an additional $15 on top of the already overpriced $50 just because i wanted a color on top. This is my local go-to nail salon. I've tried many, many others over the years and most of them are fine. Kind of hit or miss with the result (mostly good). Last year, a friend gave me a gift certificate to VIP nails and I've been going there ever since! I am happy with their color selection and the staff is nice. I never get too fancy so I'm not sure how they are at that kind of thing. I would have rated 5 stars... but, today I went with a friend who had never been there. We just wanted basic pedicures ($30). The girl who prepared our stations pulled out the pedicure list and on the top it said "basic spa pedicure". I said "just the basic" and my friend said "the same for me". It was very apparent that the girl didn't understand much English. It took me several minutes into our pedicures to realize we weren't getting the basic pedicure. We were getting the Basic SPA Pedicure ($50). I'm not saying that what we had isn't worth $50. I'm saying we didn't order that but either she didn't understand us or is trained to give the more expensive service when someone says "basic" without specifying "the $30 one". It's my opinion that this is bad business and deceptive. I have definitely learned a lesson today and it won't happen to me again, but anyone reading this should beware! I'll still go there but I doubt my friend will return. I'm a little embarrassed because I recommended it. She had a couple other issues with her tech that I didn't experience (we're guessing she's very very new) that I'll leave for her to post in a review if she wants. read more

I spent $75 for UV Gel nail full set plus tip. I wanted pink and white coffin.. I got them on Friday and they are off today! She spent more time talking to her Co- workers and texting than doing my nails the right way. I was rushed, and they were thick and uneven. They weren't even filed down after being under the light. Not even brushed off or washed before top coat was applied. So there were little specs of nail dust under top coat. They do a half ass job, and my sister and mom both went in with fuller eyebrows and came out with almost no eyebrows, honestly no one does their eyebrows thin anymore. My sis specifically said not thin, after they asked if she wanted them thin, the woman did them super thin. Why bother asking how you want them if they're going to do them their way anyways. My acrylics were just as bad. She did them so quick which should've been a sign. Very uneven underneath the nail and the acrylic is laid out flat and looks very unnaturally. read more

I got a gift card to here awhile ago, so I figured I'd go try them out. I walked in without an appointment and was pulled back pretty quickly. I got a pedicure and a gel manicure. The pedicure was fine. But my manicure. I have never been so disappointed. The nail tech didn't say anything to me in the hour I was with him. Just kinda tapped me to move my leg or arm. He messed up my finger twice and each time got mad, he would try to put a clear coat on before they were dry. He finally just left it, smudged at the bottom and everything. When I was done, there were spots with almost no polish. I had polish all around my nails. I have never been so disappointed. I got in my car and made an appointment for another nail salon and drove right there. I will not be back. read more

VIP nail and spa feels different depending if you are staring at the wall behind the pedicure chairs or the wall behind the manicure stations. The wall behind the pedicure chairs feel very contemporary, white textured walls and bright light. The wall behind the manicure stations are bland. No pictures or any decoration. There are two TVs, but due to the narrow layout of the nail salon how close the station is to the wall and how high the TV is mounted, your neck gets pretty tired staring up at it. I went for a manicure. The nail tech was nice and she did an adequate job. I chose and OPI nail polish like I always do. I have a feeling they've altered the formula in the bottle. The nail lacquer was very runny and the quality of the paint job was meh. It's been less than a week and my nail polish has chipped and cracked. Bummer. In addition, when she was cleaning my cuticles, she kept jamming the cuticle pusher into my thumb's skin. I've had bleeding from the cuticle several times since my nails were painted and it looks very irritated. I'm hoping it doesn't get infected. The massage at the nail station was forgettable and I didn't get a massage at the drying station I saw mentioned in previous reviews. I asked for the price for a gel manicure the lady herself could not speak English right I was failed to understand what she was saying so he had to repeat. She made a face and said ughh Indians. I used to be a loyal customer iff VIP nail spa. I have sent them couple of loyal customers also. All until while ago that I had two separate incidence of awful manicure (gel chipped off the same day)and the last one: staph infection of my finger! I decided to find another place, which was not so hard! Nevertheless, being close to my house, I used to go there to wax my eyebrows time to time. Last time, the young lady that she sits close to door, which always did my eyebrows, was not in the mood or she was too busy talking on her headset. She literally waxed half of my right eyebrow! When I looked into the mirror I was so shocked and she has the audacity to ask me, I thought you want your eyebrows like this! Don't worry! it will grow in two weeks! Do you want me to wax your other eyebrow? Unfortunately, I am not a person that can answer in the moment, probably I would have said, who in right mind will want half of her eyebrow waxed? She was still talking on her head phone even when she MADE me pay 8$ for the wax! She gave me 3$ gift card for the next time I return back! And the worse part is that I did not get a sincere apology from her! 3 weeks later my eyebrow shows no signs of growing hair! (Had a job interview meanwhile) In case that place is the last spa in the world that you HAVE to go to, make sure she is paying attention to you(as customer) and she is not on her phone! Terrible experience. I made an appointment with Amy and when I went in for my appointment they told me it was her day off. I ignored that and this other woman started doing my nails. I showed her a picture and she did a terrible job so I asked her to redo them. I changed my mind about the picture (which was a simple french manicure) and picked another color. I have been a loyal customer of VIP nails for years...since they opened. They do a very nice job...BUT My daughter made an appointment for us to get pedicures. She made the appointment for 6:15 and was told "be here on time!" We arrived at the nail spa at 6:05 pm and were told it would be another 10-15 minutes, which was fine with us. We went to the Gap, came back and still continued to wait. While we were waiting a whole crew of young girls came in for manicures. They decided to wait and we continued to wait. Finally, at 6:30 we were told to get sit in the pedicure chairs. We sat there for 15 minutes (it's now 6:45) without even water in the basins to soak our feet. They began to tell the girls where to sit to get their manicures. We assumed we were next, because we had appointments and it was WELL past 6:15 by now. When it was obvious that we were not going to be taken care of, my daughter reminded them that we had appointments, it was now more than 45 minutes PAST our appointment time, and it was only fair that SOMEONE take care of us BEFORE they started the girls' manicures. The woman told us to "Sit down...we will be with you soon!" At that point, we had had enough, and left the spa. We ended up at Walmart (where they were nice to us, and a pedicure is half the price!) I will never go back to this place. They are rude and, really, with nail salons on every corner, there's no need. They need to understand that customer service is everything! read more

HORRIBLE!!!! My daughter went there for a gel manicure she had gel on her own natural nails, and the owner herself filed it off with a ELECTRIC BUFFER!!!! The owner buffed off my daughter's real nails!!! Needless to say, her nails began to split and crack below the white part the next day. The gel AND the nails PEELED completely off in the MOST PAINFUL way! When I went back with her the gentleman did not even understand my English. I explained again, with no luck, had a hard time understanding her, then she argued was very agitated, yelling at me, not professional at all. My experience is based on their SNS nails. After two days my SNS nails began to chip. These nails should not be chipping, y'all. It is a little ridiculous to pay $35 plus tip then have your nails begin chipping and two days later. I asked a friend who has SNS done regularly and she insists that the salon is not doing it properly and after watching videos on YouTube, I agree. My nail tech applied the powder on plain clear nail polish (it was in an OPI top coat bottle) and not using the SNS product line. read more

This nail salon is pure trash. Staff are incredibly rude, and display racial animus towards whites. Little does the staff know- I used to have working proficiency in mandarin and I still know a little bit. One of my acrylics fell off, and they have fallen off every time I came here. I am a Binghamton University student, and as some other people mentioned- they do not even mention here that the gel costs extra. They just paint your nails and could not care less. Also, they paint your hands. The salon is dirty, and this place belongs out of business. Just like I visit burger king after substandard family dinners, I have to always go to other salons to fix the job that this salon does. They treat me like an idiot at this salon. Nevertheless, going to the salon is hard enough for me as I have extreme anxiety. Heavy woman doing my nails was noticeably frustrated when I didn't know which hand to put in the acrylic machine and when, and she kept non verbally tapping me which was a tad awk ngl. My nails look trashy to say the least. I will never be coming back here. My acrylic basic ugly yellow set costed 64 dollars. Eyebrows here forget- they will remove your entire face and you will certainly need a face transplant. Going to the salon is supposed to be a fun treat, as opposed to a chaotic nightmare. Workers take advantage of the fact that I was a student coming here to help relieve stress amidst this horrible pandemic.
