My mini schnauzer Stormi hates getting groomed but they have been able to handle her temperament, that no one has even give it a try.

I left my puppy yesterday for a haircut and she came back like a complete different dog. She is a 10 month golden doodle and not only they charge $10 more since she is a puppy and tell you that next time you come we won't have to pay since she's not small anymore. Every time i come back they keep charging me $10 after they said they wouldn't. Yesterday she went into a haircut we asked to be cut a little shorter than usual since it's summer but we never said we wanted her shaved. I clearly told the lady in the front to not shave her. We dropped her off at 1 and she was out at 7:30! She was left alone in a cage for hours since they were so busy. When i picked her up i wasn't happy about it and they told me since it's Saturday there is always complications, and i responded then why take the appointment and not schedule her for another day? When I see her come out she is completely shaved and called me irresponsible for not brushing her . The lady in the front goes and yells that we asked to shave her when clearly we said not to. She had a couple knots in her paws since she runs so much but the least they could have done is either 1 call us to tell us that they are very busy so my dog doesn't have to be in a cage for hours. or 2 call us to tell us they have to shave her. This business since we started coming here there has always been a problem with something. I do not recommend it at all. Golden doodles are supposed to have their hair it's part of them now my puppy is sad walking around the house. I went to pick up my 2 dogs on Wednesday. while waiting for someone to come to the counter, I could see that there were 2 people grooming a white dog. instead of using the loop on the dog, one woman was holding the dog's neck with both hands around it while the other was using the clippers. i will not go back to a place that treats the dogs like that!! read more

We had bringing our dog here for a year and for the most part they have really been great. I've bragged about them suggested others go see them and everything. However the last 2 experiences haven't been great. The time before last I picked her up it barely looked like they cut her coat at all and it didn't look as great as when I take her with shorter hair. Her hair was left still pretty long and uneven as if they washed with just a dusting type trim. This last time they called me saying she had too many knots which I know she had a few tangles under her belly and a few under her arms but she wasn't bad at all. In fact we had just been to the vet the day before her appointment and the vet examined her coat and complimented how great condition her coat was in and not many knots except the expected high traffic areas. Her body wasn't tangled badly maybe the high traffic areas which will happen no matter how many times I brush her because she is cocker and poodle mix with two different textures. I've dropped her off with her coat off in worse condition (once after getting over long Covid battle) and they then managed to take care of her with worse knots and all so I'm guessing now, they don't do well with longer haired dogs or if I drop her off for a later appointment, it's not enough time to fully groom her as the last 2 appointments she was one of the last appointments. I don't mind paying extra to handle the tangled areas but I don't think this groomer allows this as an option as the solution was to shave her down all over. I picked her up this last time and she was shaved down all around because of the knots in the belly and under arms and we weren't too pleased about it. In Atlanta we've had professional groomers who know how to groom longer haired poodles and the high traffic areas may be shaved but they usually leave the rest of the body that's in good condition so I'm just concluding longer haired dogs is something they handle differently which is fine as every client/groomer may not be a good fit. We may just have to find another groomer which is a bummer I had been enjoying using them very much up until the last 2 appointments. I must say the icing on the cake was I noticed later on the next day she has a cut under her arm that had been bleeding from when she was groomed and I wish they would've pointed this out when I picked her up. I get it these things can happen but communication is key. I'd rather know than find it later on as a surprise. Even though we aren't happy about it, her shave down looks good though and they usually do a good job and talented. Somehow we've just missed the mark these last two visits. read more

TL;DR - They didn't listen to me, did what they wanted instead, I hate how he looks, and I nonetheless paid too much for little work. I'm very disappointed with my experience here. I have a 4.5 month old goldendoodle, and brought him here for his first groom (a bath, a face/feet/fanny, and a nail trim). In the goldendoodle community, many pet parents are worried that groomers will "poodle their doodle" -- that is, enhance their longer snout during a groom instead of leaving it as a full face, nice and round. So what did I do? I spent hours researching how to communicate what I wanted. I contacted my breeder for instructions. I crowd-sourced two goldendoodle Facebook groups for instructions. I searched Instagram for what I wanted. I looked here at VIP Pet Salon's Yelp page to select images of what I didn't want. I then typed out half a page of instructions. I bought a color-ink cartridge and printed five full-page photos of what I wanted. One photo was a diagram with lines of where to cut, not to cut, where to blend, etc. One photo of what I didn't want. When I showed up for my 9AM appointment, the groomer wasn't in yet. So, having to get to a work meeting, I communicated what I wanted to the front desk woman/grooming assistant. I left the photos and instructions. When I picked my doodle back up 2.5 hours later, lo and behold, he looked like a poodle. It was painfully obvious that either groomer did not look at my instructions/photos, my wishes weren't communicated, or both. His face looked nothing like the photos I wanted but exactly like the photo of how I said I DIDNT want him (which was a photo of theirs on Yelp). For her part, though she appeared a bit annoyed, the groomer listened to my complaints and tried to fix it, but it was already too late. She took off way too much hair around the muzzle/snout, and cut way down into the eye well where it almost looked shaved, and touching nothing else. Mind you, I had a note that said not to remove hair from the eye well. You can't put back hair you've taken off, and you can't expect a 4.5 month old squirmy puppy to sit still any longer. She tried to give me the excuse that my puppy was too squirmy, which isn't untrue since he's a puppy, but then how do you explain her ability to cut off TOO much hair instead of less? And making him look exactly like all the other photos on the yelp page, but nothing like mine? And when she went back to fix it after I re-explained what I wanted by showing her the photos, it honestly appeared like she was looking at them for the first time. Unacceptable, and demoralizing after I spent more time and effort trying to put together what I wanted, than she did actually grooming my dog. Furthermore, I was charged $70, and begrudgingly gave a standard 18% tip on top of it, not wanting to be rude. But $70 for what? A bath, a nail trim, a sanitary shave, and taking way too much hair off his snout? That's really all they did -- the rest of his face was untouched. Of course, they threw in their standard anal glands expression and cleaning ears, but I didn't ask for that, and he's a puppy who doesn't need it, especially since I do that myself. Everyone in the family and neighbors have commented that he looks exactly the same, except his face looks worse. A painful waste of a hard-earned $83. For their part, the facility is nice, and he does smell good. That's about the only credit I can give. He didn't appear traumatized but he's a doodle so loves everyone, everything, and every experience. I won't be returning or recommending them to anyone. Under other circumstances, I'd give them another chance to get it right, but it was so obvious they didn't even bother to read what I left behind, but did whatever they wanted themselves, so why would I? read more

This pet salon is the best. When my daughter and her husband travel I always watch their dog. We let him out to run around several times a day and so after a couple of days he starts to get a little stinky. He use to hate getting groomed, that is until we found this place. Writing this review is a little hard for me, as I totally looooove my 6 month olds cut, but the 1 star is for what I'll be explaining next. I have a Malshi. He's only 6 months. I work part time, so I spend ALOT of time with him. I know his character! That being said, Monday 10/24/16 I took my puppy to get a full cut. Now, when I came in, I asked the lady" if the dog has bad anxiety what will you guys do?" Only because when I bathe him at home he doesn't like it, but because he's my dog, I know how to tame him by playing with him and talking to him. Rushingly , I would finish take my time and dry him off. She responded, we play with them while someone else is working on him. The answer was exactly what I wanted to hear, not know it's what they would actually do. When I picked him up 2hrs later, his cut was amazing like I said before but his energy was off. Character was off. FOR THE WHOLE DAY! He went straight to his bed and slept all day! Now this only happens when he's been taken to the vet for shots. So I can surely say 1 of 2 things happened, 1. Something was given to him to sedate him? 2. They hit him and he was in total shock. It has now been 2 days, my puppy hasn't eaten his favorite foods, he's very angry and aggressive! Ripping his pads and his toys! Completely unlike him. Mind you this was not his first groom, but first with this company. I now have a sad puppy, most likely completely traumatized! I will share pictures of before and after, and you can see the happiness and sadness in his eyes! NEVER AGAIN!! read more

So Rude!!! They insisted our appt was for 1:00 and we clearly have the text message with confirmation for 12:00.. it usually takes 3 hours because we have a large Aussiedddle. It took them over 5 hours and I'm sure our poor baby had to wait for their lack of proper planning. We made this appointment over a week ago and if Saturday is too busy for a large dog, they should have kindly told us and we would have made it for another day. Not even an apology for the delay...All they kept saying to us is " He's big!" Really??? You know that and you shouldn't service dogs you can't handle. Not happy at all with their services. They gave me a price for grooming my puppy then at time of pick up they said they added another $10 for an assistant they needed during the grooming. They charged me a lot of money and literally did nothing to my puppy. Then the tip options begin at 15% and higher. I feel completely scammed. I will never return. read more

NEVER EVER WILL I GO BACK!!! I'am so livid! I wish i could give these people a zero star. We have a toy poodle puppy, she's very playful and loving. I explained to them that it's her first time going to the groomers, that i only want a trim ,nothing to short,they said fine ok. I asked how long will it take? About two hours, we will call you ( i dropped Cookie off at 11am) one clock went by,two o'clock went by,I NEVER GOT A CALL,so i decide to go and see what's going on. But what made me soooo upset ,i mean UPSET that i even CRIED! Was when i got my puppy, they cut almost whole hair! I asked her,Why did you do cut so much off? The lady said" she had to many knots" Ok,well you should have called me? She just kept saying the same,she had too many knots. For the past two times that I have taken my 5 month old puppy, they have had some sort of complain. First, they said that she was a brat and that she kept biting. Then, today I pick her up and they said that she was a bad girl and was peeing everywhere. Ok, whatever I let it go. But, I started to notice that since I got home my puppy kept licking her right front paw. After, while I was already infuriated I read another review about a lady that took her dog to this pet salon and realized her dog had a big bruise on his chest. I thought ok maybe she is licking her paw because she got hurt too. I check her and on the bottom of her paw the black on her paw is raw skin. Also, the groomer didn't even do a good job cleaning her. Since she is shih tzu when she cries her white fur turns into a red/brown color. I look at her and she is still dirty around that area. I will for sure NEVER bring my puppy here again. I am so angry and I feel so sorry for my dog. I basically paid someone to hurt my baby and on top of that the staff was extremely rude. My husband called for an appointment and dropped off our soft coated wheaten terrier for a full grooming Thursday 3/17/16. He dropped her off and waited all day before he was called to pick her up. We have used VIP in the past with different owners and had good results. We decided to try the new owners as they are close to our home. What a mistake! Both my dog and I got clipped! Rosie weighs 41# or 42# (a little heavy for a wheaten but not obese). She has always been considered a medium dog breed. According to their pricing, the grooming should not have been more than $65. This is the highest we have paid in the past and was acceptable. However, when my husband arrived to pick her up, they charged him $95! This is the max amount for a large dog! They also shaved her very close to her body ( which my husband asked them NOT to do) and scraped her raw in her private areas. 3 days later she has scabbing down there because of the "scraping" they did down there. My dog is anxious, disturbed and has a hard time getting comfortable. Any time she has to pee outside, she immediately has to stop and lick herself because it hurts her down there. I looked on there Instagram account and it looks like they only have 1 cut - short! I could never find my dogs picture on there like they said it was - too many of the same dogs kept coming up!
