Yesterday I called VIP Taxi to reserve a cab for 6:15am today. I called at 5:15am to confirm and was told that everything was good. At 6:25am no one showed up so I called their dispatch. They said that the driver had a flat tire, but was now on his way and would be there in 10 minutes. At 6:35am I called again and was told that he was pulling up. He didn't arive until 6:45am, 30 minutes after my reserved time. The driver was very nice. I asked him if he had mechanical problems and he said no. I told him that the dispatch said that he had a flat tire and he said that he didn't and actually wasn't dispatched to our address until 6:20am. I decided to make my reservation with VIP Taxi ahead of time since I wasn't sure if there were going to be any Uber or Lyft drivers in our area that early in the morning. As it turns out there were several. This was my first time using VIP and will be my last. Being a little late is excusable, but lying about why isn't. Next time it's Uber or Lyft. read more

I really appreciate the service I received. Once the call was made, I had a link sent via text, which allowed me to track the location and estimated response time for the taxi. The taxi was prompt, clean, and the passenger front seat was moved up for maximum leg room in the back seat. Paying was easy with the card reader on the head rest. The driver was friendly, easy to understand, and was great at listening to my destination request. All things considered, I have nothing bad to say about this company. read more

I had no car in Tucson, so for places where I couldn't walk to, I relied heavily on VIP Taxi. Before booking my in-town transportation with VIP Taxi, I did my research and found that, well, most people drive in Tucson as there were not many reviews for me to make an educated decision. In the end I think I based my decision on the fact that there were no murder reviews for VIP Taxi and that you could book online. I took three rides when I was in Tucson, each time booking the night before online. Each time my cab was on time if not early, and before each ride, I got a text message confirming that my taxi has been dispatched and then also a call from the dispatcher to confirm the location. The cabs weren't the newest or cleanest, but the drivers were nice enough and got me to my destinations safely. I grabbed a coupon for VIP Taxi at the Arizona Shuttle drop-off location and was able to use the same coupon on each of my rides, taking $2 off any ride over $10 or $5 off any ride over $20. read more

Tried VIP for the first time this summer. Have used them about 15 times since, in all different areas of town. After using discount and yellow cab for a couple years, I didn't even know you could get a cab in Tucson in under an hour. VIP taxi is AMAZINGLY and consistently fast and reliable. I've never waited longer than 20 minutes and have even had cabs show up in 5 minutes, no joke! Drivers have all been great, friendly and know their way around town. Love the dispatch guy, friendly, funny, always calls me by name when he answers and asks how I'm doing. This is the only company I'll be using from here on out. Great job, VIP! read more

I reserved taxi a day before. For 5am. They showed up at 516am. late to my appointment. I had to ask them to get one going to airport and when he showed up he told me I was at the airport and told me to pick you up. read more

I Booked online the night before. Then I had to call to change the time by an hour- even though I'd received confirmation when I booked and a follow up email, the Dispatch had a really hard time finding my reservation. . . But I think she did find it. She either got the time changed or made a new rez; my driver showed up +10minutes early, very pleasant. The cab was dated but clean and in good shape. My husband and I have been using VIP often for a couple years now and have had many great experiences with many wonderful drivers. Of course we've had a couple less than stellar experiences over that much time but when we've called management about the issue they've been amazingly receptive and helpful to resolving the matter immediately. The only critique I could give is that I'd like to see more cars equipped with car seats (thank you to those that do carry them) and maybe a few more vans or cars other than the traditional cars since they leave you with putting your groceries on a spare tire. All around though, a great company with very trustworthy drivers. The Curb app they use is also really easy and worth putting on your phone. As a non-driver in this city, I don't know how I'd do it without them. read more

Based on my experience, the worst. Ordered a special size car, to handle golf bags, the night before for 5:15 AM to Tucson Airport for 7:25 flight. Outside hotel by 5:05. When car did not arrive, called VIP. Turns out car arrived early and took another fare rather than wait until agreed upon time. VIP could not say how long it would be before replacement car arrived, but at least 30 minutes. Contacted Lyft who saved the day. read more

We used VIP Taxi for New Years Eve and they were great. Both pick ups to and from the party they were super quick (took only 5 minutes after we called to arrive) and both drivers were really friendly and fun to talk to. Definately would use them again and recommend them! read more

I got a ride from Joe, 520-310-0714 from the Marriott to the Airport. He claimed the credit card did not go through and I needed to get cash from a machine inside the airport to pay him. I told him I would mail him the cash in the mail if he left his address. I sent him $40.00 cash and then I see a charge to my credit card. I called him and he agreed he got my cash and the credit card went trough and said he would send me back the $400. I have called 3 times and he lied and will not send the money. He stole my money and I will do all I can to prosecute, The company should fire him for lying and stealing. 5/9/15 read more

NO STARS whatsoever for this company! I never write reviews but wanted to make sure that others never have to experience what I did with VIP taxi. I booked a reservation 6 days in advance for a pickup of 7:00 am on December 26, 2019 for a ride to the Tucson Airport. At 6:55 am that morning, I received a call from VIP dispatch saying that they were having a very busy morning and would try to get a car to me as soon as they could. I explained that I had a flight to catch and that it was imperative that a car be on time. I was told someone would call me back in just a couple of minutes to confirm the exact pick up time. After 11 minutes and no call back, I called VIP Taxi and was told that my car was just dropping off another passenger, but didn't know where so they couldn't give me an exact time of pick up. I expressed my concerns that I had a flight to catch and had booked a reservation 6 days in advance and asked to speak with a supervisor. After being on hold for another 5 minutes, I finally spoke with someone else who gave me yet a 3rd excuse that the car had mechanical issues and they would try to get another car to pick me up as soon as possible but couldn't guarantee a pick up time. I expressed that I had a flight to catch and would most likely miss it if a car couldn't pick me up right away. I was told I would receive a text shortly where I could monitor the location of the car that would be en route to my location. Once I received the text, it showed that the car would be at my location 35 minutes late which meant that I would no doubt miss my flight. Unacceptable! I frantically had to make last minute arrangements by waking up a family member with two very children to get me to the airport with the babies in tow. NEVER, and I repeat NEVER again will I use VIP Taxi services. There are many other companies out there to use and I would highly suggest anyone looking for a taxi company to use one of those and NOT VIP Taxi. read more

We had a taxi ride this evening (no 279) and we have never been so scared in our lives. The driver was either stoned or extremely drunk. Either way he should NOT have been behind the wheel of a car. As soon as we got home we phoned VIP and they said that they dealt with the situation. Regardless, we were so scared that we will never use this service again. read more

There are a number of cab companies in town who contract with insurance companies to transport ill patients to their doctor appointments or dialysis. Sadly, this company is one that is (at least for now) so contracted. They arrive abysmally early (if at all) to pre-set dialysis because it is convenient for the COMPANY -- not the passenger. Then, after five or six hours at a dialysis center, they fail to show up, or need to be begged to dispatch a car. They have been warned to be more responsible, but they simply do not care. Tonight, again, they forgot to dispatch a car, then lied about it to the insurance company and to us. Arriving 34 minutes late, the cab driver told the passenger that he was late because his prior appointment was late. The supervisor had the audacity (while passenger was in the car) to say that the cab had a flat tire. Lying with impugnity - but cruel and inhuman at the same time. You should be ashamed of yourselves! read more

Caution, if you have a group of 5 or more with luggage, going to the airport heed this warning. Originally booked online a mini van on their website to the airport at a specific time. Then called back and spoke to a representative to re confirm as we had international connections at LAX we couldn't miss. After arriving 20 min late the driver arrived in a small sedan. He was very apologetic, and said they did not have a mini van available, which understandably was not his fault, but the fault of dispatch. So he called them several times to rectify, they would not answer. I called them, and they said they could not give me an estimated time. My wife and kids went with him, as only they and their baggage would fit in the small sedan, and my mother and I waited for the second car which they said would be a priority. I called back after 10 minutes, and still no estimated time frame. So I ended up driving us to the airport in our own car, and paid for parking for the ten days. Whilst been driven to the airport, the driver told my wife that dispatch wanted him to drop her off and drive back to pick us up, which is an hour round trip! So glad we didn't wait for our priority pick up! When arriving to the airport, I saw several VIP taxis curbside just idley waiting. And low and behold a mini van! Never again will they have my business. read more

Horrific experience using VIP taxi through the Curb App (formerly Taxi Magic) service which is similar to Uber and Lyft. Uber and Lyft use a simple, functional payment system on their app on your mobile phone and use your credit card on file to pay for the ride 30 minutes to an hour after the ride completes. This VIP taxi arrived 20 minutes prior to the time I requested. After the somewhat pleasant ride, I tipped my driver, Steve Sainz, $5 cash on a $45 ride. I asked if he knew how Curb worked, and how I was supposed to pay with the app on my phone and he said he had no idea what I was talking about... well when I got to my final destination, the driver harassed me to no end. My driver refused to leave and asked for a credit card or cash. He threatened to call the police on me and report an intentioal criminal act, and report a felony because I told him that when I tried to pay on my mobile phone Curb app, I got the message that they could not accept the payment because is was "too early or too late" to pay for the ride and there was no other information or option. I have the screen shot from the phone when I tried to pay for the ride immediately and for 25 - 30 minutes following the harassment by Mr. Sainz. Mr. Sainz told me that the meter would keep running until the bill was paid, even I attempted to show the driver the response I received on my telephone the message I received over and over again each time I tried to pay. The driver finally asked if I had any cash and I had to go inside and ask my husband to pay for the ride, though I understand Curb is supposed to take payment via the mobile app. Rudely, the driver accepted the cash payment of $45 and THEN had the audacity to ask me for an additional two dollars after he left the meter running outside my house while I was trying to pay on the mobile app and eventually had to get the money from my husband. This is very upsetting and I have never been threatened in any way like this in my life. I am humiliated and upset and would like some sort of comp or reimbursement or I will sue. No one should be treated like I was as a first time customer this has left a very bad impression. read more
