Update: went to Irwin Chevrolet to have them figure out what was wrong considering they are a dealership. Ok here is / was the list of issues: 1- break pads installed incorrectly on passenger side. 2- loose piston caused by the break pads and now rubbing on the pads. 3- missing hardware / lock screw. 4- damaged / bad calipers Total repair cost was north of $2000.00 the electronic calipers being the majority of the cost. My bill from Irwin that day was $283.00. I drove to VIP right after to discuss this with them. Jeremy Gooden was very nice and understanding and assured me I would be paid for this work. He apologized again and hoped to gain my business back. On 1/24/25 I received a call letting me know the check was being sent. Today 1/31/25 I received the check. Drumroll please......$283.00 no other amount no explanation nothing. I have again reached out to VIP Gary MacCausland VP of operations as he was the one that sent me the check to ask for a reason. I also reached out to the initial response I received from VIP forgot the persons name asking for the same information. So the saga continues. I truly hope this helps people when it comes to making decisions on who works on your car and how they stand behind their work. This whole experience has cost me well over $2500.00 so far. Came in on the wrong time. Store didn't have wifi, not their fault. So I couldn't get my car serviced that day. But as I left the store, an associate made a racist remark regarding the chinese. Blamed the chinese for the internet being offline for them. I am asian and found it to be disrespectful. I don't feel safe bringing my vehicle in for service, I felt like the man would have done damage to my car. Would not recommend. read more

I looked at the VIP Tilton website to schedule a transmission flush. While I live about 30 minutes away, I decided to make the trip after VIP's online staff person assured me that I could come by any time and that the service would take around 90 minutes. After making the drive, the clerk who greeted me at the front desk (after waiting about 5 minutes because no one was there when I arrived) told me that I would need to leave my vehicle all day. Since my time was totally wasted by the incorrect information I was told on the phone, I will never visit a VIP store again. read more

I'm not one to bash a business. This is completely out of my nature but VIP in Tilton can pound sand!!! They put the wrong tire sensor that does not work for my highlander and purposely didn't shut the tire light off. After calling them out on this they said they can put the right sensor on but will charge for labor. Such horrible business and can't own up to their mistakes. Now I can understand the bad reviews on yelp. They charged us over 100 dollars for this unreliable sensor. And now we have to pay for another one that works for our car at our dealership. Do NOT come here unless you want to be up-charged an extra $200 from the previous amount that was agreed upon and then told to tip. They were supposed to put on snow tires then when I was about to leave, they told me they did not know if they put on all snow tires. How the **** do they not know if they put on all snow tires?? I had state inspection done and the mechanic found a leak in my exhaust pipe. He spliced on a small section and they charged me $110 for the repair. It took 15 minutes and a coupling that cost $10. The person behind the desk cannot give me an itemized cost and stated that it was the lowest they could go. I felt, I was overcharged and they knew that I would pay for it because they have my vehicle hostage and would not pass the state inspection if I don't get the work done. Another bad experience with VIP. They need to be more transparent and honest. Work done was good but the people working behind the desk does not care about the customers. read more

I went there twice in a week and will never be going back! 1st time I went to get a quote and told them I wanted 4 winter tires, the guy comes out to my car ( I don't know why I told him the size) and he said oh well you would need to put 2 on the back at least...i asked for four! The next time I called to make an appointment for a state inspection and say " I heard they are free this month" and they told me yes. I go in and get charged 35.00! I ask about it and they said Well do you have a coupon? I say no your sign in laconia advertised it and I called and wasn't told about a coupon. When I head to the waiting area I hear them talking about me! Very unprofessional. 2 days after my inspection I get an email from VIP about how I should make an appointment for the repairs they mentioned I needed? I wasn't told about anything wrong with my car after asking, all the said was it passed and everything looked good. I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK!!! read more

VIP Tilton is a very professional and cost effective way to maintain my vehicles. I purchased 2 sets (4 each) so far and the process were very competitive. This recent visit was for an oil change and tire rotation. I bought the tires there so the rotation was free. The counter people are excellent and don't pressure you into more maintenance. They print out what is due on the vehicle because of the mileage, including the cost but no high pressure sales pitch. Great job. I have 3 vehicles and normally take all 3 there. read more

Not a good experience. Very expensive. Didn't know how to use my car. Went in to put my snow tires on, I had 2 and had to buy 2. They couldn't remember if they put on all 4 tires or not. Took a crazy long time to put them on without even aligning them. Then proceeded to tell me they thought my push to start button was jammed/broken but it was completely fine before I dropped it off. Overall poor experience and highly do not recommend. read more

I've been coming to VIP for several years with three cars the last month we had two problems I had my wife's Subaru transmission fluid changed by VIP the transmission started slipping a week later we took it to a Subaru dealer the report we got was that it was the wrong transmission fluid in the transmission is damaged also they put in the wrong engine oil my my daughter had four new tires put on a week later she complained of a noise in the front end I took a look at it and 1 lug nut was gone and the other four were very loose she could have had a terrible accident when I approach the manager Dennis he denied any wrongdoing and called Subaru about the transmission and threaten them with lawyer on top of that Dennis the manager asked me at one point to write a negative review about a co-worker he was trying to get rid of very very bad place stay away read more

Rude and dishonest. Supposed to do 'multi-point' inspection and alignment check. Did nothing more than a cursory look. When I asked for the multi-point check sheet I was told "You want me to write it on the back of your receipt?" They didn't have a check sheet, because they didn't DO a check. Also, claimed I needed an alignment but when I asked to see THAT report, they admitted they hadn't done a check but that I would need one. Rude. Rude. Rude. (Which is too bad, because they have plenty of other staff who are exemplary, but one bad apple can spoil a whole bunch.) read more

My wife had a blowout over the weekend so I called sunday and made an appointment at VIP in Tilton to get two new tires. The appointment had to be set for three days away because they had to order the tires. Today I showed up (a few minutes early, even) at the appointment expecting to be there for 20 minutes. Instead I waited around for two hours in their grimy waiting room. THAT's when they finally came out and told me they didn't have the tires. They offered to give me what they described as "a really bad tire" and send me on the road and then have me come back again two days later to get the tires that I ordered in the first place. I wouldn't have taken the time to write a rotten review of them if this was the first time that they messed stuff up. Should have accepted the longer wait and more $$ to have My local mechanic do it right the first time. read more

These guys are great. They chat with you while ur car is in the shop. Tom is a great guy, and he is great with customers. He gives an honest feedback. The other taller guy (sorry I don't remember his name) is also great to talk too. They are considerate of customers that work different shifts ( I work third shift ) when I needed my tires re-torqued I arrived about 30 minutes before they opened expecting to wait until open. I pulled in and the guys were just getting there and standing by their vehicles. Tom (assume the manager?) Came up and asked if "I just needed a re-torque" I said, "yes" he directed me to the first bay and asked one of the guys to do it. I was out of there in less then 5 minutes and all before they were officially open. It's important to me to get home as I work 12 hour shifts and have to drive 30 minutes. The little waiting room always has refreshments and the TV on to pass time. The tire smell is to be desired but, hey it's a tire/auto repair place. The prices are ehhh. The little stuff like oil changes, tire rotations etc. are ok. The bigger repairs well, at $105 an hour I think I will stick to my ASE mechanic that charges by the job not the hour or just do it myself if I can. Got a quote for over $450 to do inner and outer tie rod on one side of my GMC, then a needed alignment. I just bought Moog tie rods (both inner and outer for both sides) for under $100. Then my ASE mechanic is installing them for $120 then the alignment $50-$60. If my math is correct that is $270-$280. 450-280=$170+ savings. Overall though it's a good shop with good customer service for the little things or if you need a quick service/tires. read more

Every time I got to VIP for service they are always very helpful. Thanks last time I had a flat tire that needed to be fixed as soon as possible. Every tech was straight out and not able to help me out. They called the VIP in Laconia and Steve me up for immediate service there. In one hour the tire was repaired. read more

Above and Beyond. I pulled into VIP/O'Reilly's with my plow truck in "limp mode" (5mph) and bought a fuel filter which I attempted to change in the parking lot in the middle of a blizzard - the guy at the front desk of VIP offered to let me use an empty bay - long story short, the fuel filter wasn't the (entire) problem and Trevor, the only tech on duty that day, took the time to help me diagnose the issue (which meant he had to push the primer on the fuel filter about 1000 times - talk about tiring!) and although it couldn't be fixed (oddball part needed, only the dealership had one, and everyone was closed due to the storm) at least I knew the problem and had exhausted every option to try to get it running. Tilton lost power in the middle of this diagnosis and Trevor kept on working with me - until they closed the shop for the storm - and then Trevor was kind enough to give me a lift home! The employees that I dealt with where very shady and offered to "give a great deal because my boss isn't here." 1) if your boss is not here and you are trying to "give" a bargain that would not otherwise be OK you are not a respectable or responsible employee and should be fired. 2) trying to talk me into spending $400+ with you because my tires "only have 25 more miles left on them" is ridiculous. New to the area, in April 2015 we brought our Tacoma to this shop to changeover from snow tires. The price was $65.84 (with no discounts). We just brought the Tacoma back to have the snow tires put on and the price was $90.14 (after a veteran's discount). That's an outrageous price increase -- almost 40%! When I called to ask why the bill was so much, I was told that there was a price increase and that he (Mark) was just doing what the computer told him to do. I told him to remove us from the database since we would not be coming back. Best advice -- shop around. I wish we had!!! There are plenty of tire places to chose from. read more

I had a few good experiences at the VIP in Laconia with tires and my car needed exhaust work and they were closed, so I decided to go to the one in Tilton. My car was rejected during inspection and I wanted them to take a look at the exhaust and tell me what they could do, the car was loud and it had a hole in exhaust. After looking at the car they called to tell me that it would need a whole new exhaust system, and it would be $1,400! and that they didn't have the parts that day, they would have to order them. I took the car instead to Lou's in Meredith and he put a new flex pipe for $200 and did it quickly, the sound was gone and the problem was fixed and it passed the inspection. I don't know if they are incompetent at this VIP or they were trying to rip me off, my husband says its because they didn't have a welder so they found a solution that did not require a welder that would be in their favor. Either way I would not get my car fixed here or ever return again. read more

Took over 3 hours to do brake pads and rotors on the rear of my car. They weren't that busy and they had the parts in stock. Really? Over 3 hours? They left my car sitting there after it had been there 2 hours to go work on another car that just pulled in. It's only when I asked "How much longer" that the mechanic went back to work on mine. read more
