From the moment we arrived to the port we were greeted with such abundant hospitality that carried out throughout the entire trip. The whole experience was beyond expectations. Check-in was simple, quick, and flawless. The greeter as we began boarding was full of so much positive energy, we immediately knew we were embarking onto something special. The ship's staff was so kind, uniquely attentive, and exuded world class hospitality. My partner and I are still talking about how wonderful they made us feel, and will most likely do so for a long time to come. The food hall took the place of a buffet and had many wonderful choices. Very well curated restaurant concepts with excellent service. Entertainment and nightlife was perfectly executed. There was something to do for everyone. Our spa day was icing on the cake. We were invited guests for Richard's Birthday Bash, so it was a rarified event experience second to none. I'll take this time to address the crew members first. The Crew Member support personnel are from all over the world. They are ALL well-trained, eager to please and they do a fantastic job. Our housekeeping cabin mate on deck 11 Zulu side was KOMANG from Bali. He anticipated our needs and seemed to be ever-present when we stepped outside the room to get something. Please authorize a pay-raise for this guy. In the 'Pink Agave' restaurant, our server was DIANA. She was the ideal host when it came to service, orders, responsiveness and follow-up, etc. Apparently, she was a newly qualified trainee, but she moved as efficiently as if she had had many years of experience. In their bar was JAKOB who surprised us when he offered to run to another bar on the ship to get the after-dinner Amaro we wanted, since each restaurant has a separate theme for the drinks they carry. He cheerfully came back within minutes with the perfect bottle. In the 'Extra Virgin' restaurant, our server team was ILHAM and TAI. As loud and boisterous as our crowd at the table was, ILHAM assessed and navigated our every need cheerfully and efficiently without interrupting the festivities. This is a remarkable talent. TAI tactfully cleaned up as needed and as busy as she was, took the time to take fantastic photos of our table mates. These are just five names I wrote down of the hundreds of remarkable support staff we encountered. I finally, the ship cleanliness is second to none, the technology in every space works and is finer than any hotel we've stayed in. The stabilizers kept the ship perfectly level and the Captain, OPS, and engineering crew are the best in the world. After serving aboard military ships in the Coast Guard, I vowed never to book a trip aboard a cruise ship. This experience spoiled me and now I can say I've done this. So now I never have to do it again. read more

Virgin Voyages does not honor their booking deals. We had a 50% off plus up to $600 drink deal when we booked. Now that we are actually close to cruising time and the add ons are listed in the app we did not have our drink package. We are travelling with multiple couples and half got the package and half did not even though we all booked at the same time. Called in was left on hold for 45min and told basically I was lying, that deal was never offered in the timeframe of our booking even though I informed them I had a screen shot of the deal. The booking process for excursions and dinner reservations are cumbersome and unfriendly through the application. Do better Virgin Voyages! read more

So where do I start? We got there early the day of embarking. It was too early so they give you a free ride to bayside to wait for your specific time. There was too many people on line so we took an Uber. We embarked at 2:15. Maybe waited inside a room for 30 minutes before getting into the ship so it wasn't bad at all, I recommend the pre checking earlier than you remark time. The ship was beautiful, huge, it had a lot of bars/restaurants. A cool concept on the dinning aspect where they sit you with other people so you can socialice and interact. The gamba bbq was the absolute best place, we did that the last night and they make u play this drinking game OMG I don't even remember how we got to bed but it was soo fun. They have some entertainment at night but nothing wow. I thought Disney cruise had way more shows and entertainments and I really enjoyed the night life. We kinda did our own thing and drank and played at the casino which it was a little small. We spent a day in Bahamas and another in Bimini. Both were fun but Bimini casino was the best. Go say hi to Michael the bartender he was awesome!. The staff onboard were nice however very cold and distant. They were all Europeans and didn't speak a lot of English. I guess a whole different culture for us so it was a little odd. I would deff try a diff cruise next time. But overall was a fun experience. I was booked for a voyage on March 30, 2024 out of San Juan on Brilliant Lady. Virgin cancelled the trip due to the ship not being ready and today refunded my cruise amount but NOT the amount I paid for insurance. ($240. $120 x 2). They tell me it is non-refundable for any reason. So let me get this straight. You take reservations on a ship you know won't be ready and keep my $240 for INSURANCE? I hope it's worth it to lose my future business, Virgin over $240. Good riddance. read more

Re-Imagined, Re-Invented, Re-Engineered, Re-Illuminated. Our first Virgin Voyages Cruise was an amazing and surprising and unique experience. The checkin and boarding process was simple, quick, and efficient with one single luggage scan; and took less than 5 minutes from the curb to our cabin. We told security that we had liquids in our luggage. They waved us on without an inspection. A "crew tipping already included" policy, saved us time and frustration. There was no central atrium which was a positive change and meant no atrium "balcony suites" confusion at time of booking. Our standard outside balcony cabin was perfect with dozens of overall improvements from cabins from other cruise lines. The balcony hammock looked small but it was quite comfortable and we used it often. We were on a 4 night Miami, Key West, Bimini cruise and were still finding new spots for snacks and cocktails on our last day. We bought the $350 premium drink, coffee, and tapas package and that was about right for the 5 days. Wi-fi was included and was finicky on arrival but was fine throughout the cruise. The staff were pleased that they all had unlimited ship board wi-fi access; which is not the case for many cruise lines. We were only able to make a single restaurant reservation on the Virgin Voyages app prior to boarding; but on- board customer service made 4 more reservations for us with no problem. The crew and staff were unusually positive and appeared to be genuinely glad to be there.; and were a good mix of dozens of cultures and everyone spoke very good English and all knew the ship and amenities and restaurants well and were helpful and easily able to provide directions. Our favorite spot was the "Dock" at the stern or rear or aft of the ship and was never crowded; probably because it was difficult to find. Couples couches, umbrellas, and a great bar and menu were all much appreciated. I was in impressed to watch a bartender mix me up a rum punch using 4 or 5 bottles of the correct mixes and rums; instead of a using a pre-mixed jug of punch which most bars use. It was very classy. No buffets. Every meal and dish was freshly made with first class garnishes and presentations. The steak and the Italian restaurants served impeccable and authentic meals; prepared perfectly. My wife accidentally lost her favorite Tiffany ring that I had given her 20 years ago on our last night and was terribly distraught. She immediately reported it to a bartender. Ten minutes later a crew member from the lost and found called to let us know that a member of the cleaning staff had found it and turned it in and we could pick it up at the service desk. Normally a very unlikely outcome. What a relief. A separate note to corporate management naming specific staff who helped has been sent. We did not get off of the ship in Key West and were dubious about the Bimini Beach experience; but we stayed at the beach with several pools for the day and enjoyed it immensely. Some other beach resorts that we have stayed at in the past have allowed local beach vendors to sell their wares amongst the guests. It was a relief that there were none at the Virgin beach location. The itinerary made very little difference to us; as the ship and the voyage were a relaxing experience that we had looked forward to. The food was first class. The cocktails and beers and wine were reasonably priced. The service was first class and impecable. I could do the exact same cruise next week with no hesitation. The ship design is nice. However, the accessibility to food and restaurants gets a 1 and the quality of food gets a 2 especially in the galley and room service. 1. You have to make a reservation for restaurants that were halfway empty. Unlike other ships fine dining is not an option everyday. People were looking for something and somewhere to eat. The bartenders didn't know how to make any of the drinks, they are trying to save with the limited options and the food was just horrendous. 2. In there cafeteria the galley the food options felt like I were in 2nd grade. You had servers making you baby plates, the food choices seem like I was feeding my teenagers, I was really disappointed and would probably not go on this cruise again based on food options alone. 3. The alcohol credit was fine and was a bonus! 4. The room was nice. 5. The deck literally closed at 7pm on an all adult cruise. So no frozen cocktails. 6. There is really no free internet it doesn't work unless you pay. Even when you pay it still doesn't work! I am a seasoned cruiser having travelled on ALL major cruise lines and I am disappointed. Resilient Lady Friends & Family May 8-13 2023 Greek Island Glow I was lucky to be invited to join this cruise and had a wonderful time getting to know Virgin Voyage's new Lady Ship. They limited the guests to 800 on this cruise so there was a lot of elbow room. I had a Central Sea Terrace 14-142-Z, lovely cabin, excellent location, close but not too close to the elevators. And if you haven't heard yet, most Sea Terrace/Balcony cabins on VV ships have hammocks! I purchased the "Splash of Romance" package as a solo because I wanted to take advantage of early boarding and with the bottle of champagne, treats, and spa visit, it was worth the $200 to me. The new entertainment is phenomenal, from LOLA'S LIBRARY (keep in mind it is a THREE HOUR show), PERSEPHONE, and ANOTHER ROSE, to MISS BEHAVE and the MIND MANGLER. There are also part performance by the Happenings Cast / part dance party 80's PARTY KLUB RUBIKS and WE FANCY (wear gold if you can/want to), and BINGO WITH THE DIVA is always a hoot. There is also LOTERIA GIGANTICA which I did not participate in but is reported to be a lot of fun. I DID attend the GROG WALK which was poorly attended but still fun, they had scheduled two groups but only one was necessary. There is a fee for the dinner and show for ANOTHER ROSE but the show AND food are exceptional. I sat in the very front (red rose) section, and I will say it was too close, and we were moved around, as the show is immersive and we were somewhat part of it. I will sit in the second stage (black rose) section next time). This was cruise number 30 for me in general and my third with VV; I find their food to be the best of any cruise line, without having to pay an upcharge. VV does have dishes with an upcharge but there are not many. I don't have any ONE favorite restaurant but I will say that the RAZZLE DAZZLE bacon haunts me and I am bereft that they took the cookies off of the menu. The have QUICKEZE to-go containers in the Galley and in The Dock refrigerators with charcuterie, wraps, sandwiches, salads, dips, and desserts, many people don't notice them but they are worth trying; grab them early and stash them, they are not available all hours. VV does not have a drink package, but you can purchase a $300 "bar tab" before your cruise; I don't drink enough and end up having to purchase a bottle of champagne to share at the end of the cruise - it is a "use it or lose it" situation, but "bar tab" money can be used for any beverages on the ship, just not for drinks associated with a class or event such as SHOT FOR SHOT or the GROG WALK, etc. I love the pajama party on the first night; it's fun to see what people come up with! SCARLET NIGHT is always a fun time and I actually got in the pool (shallow end) this time! I wore my red, with a flashing light red feathered headband and actually won a pop-up fashion show. But it was only because I have a bit of an "in" with the crew. This is the third cruise where I have given them my handmade dragonfly earrings so they kinda like me :) Keep an eye out for the GLAM STATION MOTIVATION on the schedule, where you can get some face bling! They only operated it once on the Valiant but on the Resilient they provided it almost every evening. At Mykonos we actually got a dock space so we didn't have to tender; it is usually going to be a tender port. I did the VV DIVINE DELOS Shore Thing. I am glad I saw the historical ruins but the crowd was a huge hassle; the other tour guides and guests were a bit on the rude side, forget your personal space! I did the VV COAST & CALDERA Shore Thing in Santorini and it was great, best food I've ever had on a catamaran tour and the guide Karin was excellent. I did the VV DIVING Shore Thing in Bodrum and it sucked but mostly because my diving skills are not up to par, but there also wasn't much to see, and it was COLD! Food on the boat was just OK. At the port shops I bought a little zip pouch with cats on it (I love that Turkey is so cat friendly) and one with the evil eye symbol on it, and they gave me a glass evil eye magnet as a gift. I cannot praise the Happenings Cast enough, they are lovely and welcoming humans, Abi the Hostess, Titty Kaka the Diva, Elesha the Glow, Pip the Flare, Christopher the Spark, Alejandro the Hype, Andy the Charmer, Verena the Artist, Jake the Foodie, Juanita the Bounce, Cameron the Gamer, and Nate the Balancer. I have been on Carnival and Royal Caribbean Cruises. Virgin Voyages Scarlet Lady is at another level of awesomeness. The cabins are 1000% better and you operate most of it through a tablet. The beds are more comfortable, closet space is comfortable. The food is 1000000 million times better. You are served all the time. No nasty buffets. No nasty passenger hands touching serving communal utensils. The shows are contemporary with a diverse artistic ensemble made for a younger crowd and very LGTBQ+ friendly. No added fees for internet, tips, arcade or sodas! Amazing served lunch at Bimini plus pool and beach. Amazing stop at Taino Bay Puerto Plata plus pool! Multiple upscale gourmet sit down restaurants to pick from every night! Beautiful decor throughout the ship. Modern and hip. No cards, you get a nice bracelet to access your cabin. Towels are always included at the gym and the pool. Bed is made daily upon request. Balcony hammock chairs! More food choices than nights actually. Free gourmet ice cream and ice pops. Free gourmet desserts and pastries. No funky sewage cruise smell. Clean restrooms. Staff is very professional. No lines. No kids. Amazing gym. To go boxes for sushi, salads and charcuterie. I could go on and on. It may appear expensive but I believe you end up saving money as they are not nickeling and diming you on everything. Really cool music and special effects. Probably the worst pre-cruise customer service of any major cruise line. Their website is extremely convoluted and the promotions don't even apply to bookings you make on the exact page they advertise them on. Additionally, after spending 38 minutes on the phone with customer service, they only offered to refund the taxes and fees, and they would pocket the ~$2500 as additional profit for the billionaire owner. I just find it difficult to support a company which screws the little guy out of $46 in cruise credit because they can't afford to let the billionaire owner make a penny less. So I just got off the Dominican Days cruise with Virgin... in my opinion there are some positives and negatives... let's do all the positives.. getting on the ship what a breeze compared to some of the other cruise lines... having the rooms ready when you board was awesome.... the ice cream and pizza was good..... NO KIDS!!!!... initially I thought having all the restaurants was a good thing but not really...being able to text guest services instead of getting in line was awesome... all of the chill out places on the ship was nice..and comfortable.. and lastly debarking the ship was so easy.. the negative to.me were the rooms look like Ikea furnished them...the bathrooms are tiny...having to book your breakfast, dinner and entertainment was not good because everything sells out and you then wait in line e and hope you get in to experience them...THE MUSIC SUCKS... not sure if it was because they sail out of Miami but I don't care to hear Latin music all the time everywhere..being that it was Virgin..I expected to hear ALLrypes of music and not just snipits and back to latin...nothing against it but you have all types of people on the ship...the galley concept of ordering food instead of a buffet may save waste but the food was not hot and very limited...I didn't really care for the restaurant either.....the pool is very small and we couldn't get in...... we plan on giving them another try but that will probably be it for us... there is more I could say but I've said enough...hopefully they read this and make some changes... read more

Well it's a different experience I will say that. Virgin is most likely the cruise line for you if you are between the ages of 21-45 otherwise it's a cruise you can pass up. Pros: the crew is very nice, not many hidden charges, the free internet and paid internet worked well. Cons: Virgin tries to force you into their speciality restaurants, which are no charge, but of course they are upselling some dining experiences. So if you don't go to the restaurants you are stuck with the galley which is repetitive and quite frankly bland. The weird thing about the galley is some of the other food in the galley closes at 3 pm like their panini noodle and taco bars. The Taco bar should be renamed from "Let's taco about it" to "Let taco about how you really can't eat here because we're closed". The entertainment was original but weird. Also everything is ran by the app so if you don't sign up in time you are literally closed out of the entertainment. Just weird. It was a very quiet ship and it really did not have a vibe. It could be awesome but it's time for Virgin to make adjustments in order to make this a relaxing fun experience which I can honestly say did not happen on this Voyage from Sept1-Sept 6, 2023 out of Miami. Oh quick post scrip here. We did a excursion to Fricolandia which included a boat ride out to a sand bar. We literally were in transit for 4.5 hours between the bus ride to and from and the boat ride out to the sandbar (which was very nice) however we got 1 hour 45 minutes at the resort, the food was just terrible and pretty sure we got Norovirus while we were there. The excision was expensive and I will be asking for a refund. And I strongly recommend Virgin break their relationship with this excursion. It was a total waste of money. read more

OK guys when you get to the port do not let them shuttle you to Bayside!! It is kind of a tourist trap lol. You don't need to go to Bayside you can just stay at the port and get on the ship when it is your time to check in. They just brought us over here to buy things which would not have been bad but the vans that are supposed to pick up and drop off a few and far between. So you end up standing in the sun hoping and praying that they come back. Also the shuttle vans are small so you end up hoping that you'll fit in the van so that you don't have to wait for the next one to come. Once I finally got back to the port sweaty and frustrated from waiting for the return shuttle (small van) I was told that my check in on the app was not completed even though it read that it was completed on the app. So I had to stand in an extra line to get something done that was already done. It was a hot mess. I am in line now with people whose app stated that they had not completed something even though my app says I've completed everything. after standing in line for the shuttle to and from Bayside I am less than happy with this cruise line. This is my first time on virgin and I will say that carnival's check in process runs a lot smoother. I have not stepped 1 foot on the actual ship yet and I am extremely frustrated. read more

Loved this cruise! The food and entertainment was amazing. We tried as many restaurants as possible and love that everything was included. Our favorite was Gunbae, the Korean bbq spot. So much fun and so delicious. But we enjoyed every place we went and I want to cruise again to give the ones we didn't get to a shot! For us he bar tab (no drink packages) was not an issue since we don't drink a lot so we were able to pay as we go and used the loaded money for specialty juices and coffees. We made sure to take part in activities like karaoke, trivia, scavenger hunts, crafts and others which we found fun and we won some free drinks by taking part! Our cabin was super comfortable and we LOVED the balcony. Super spacious for the three of us so we didn't need to cram into the room. This really was a great adult playground of a time and whether on the boat or at port it was a spectacular time. Won't be cruising on any other line. read more

My hubby and I decided to book a Virgin cruise on our friends recommendation. We had cruised at least 25 times in the past on Celebrity, NCL, Royal Caribbean, Carnival and MSC. The allure of the Virgin cruises was adult only. The food was excellent; rooms were clean and nicely laid out. Embarkation was a breeze. The app did not work properly - for weeks prior to our trip, I called several times to fix this but was unsuccessful. I also asked numerous times if they would book my dinner reservations since I could not on the app. I was told by several reps that reservations were not necessary. This is not true. You cannot dine unless you have reservations, unless you don't mind eating at 10PM. I could never find a bar that was open. Pool bar was out of ice, and therefore could not make frozen drinks. Most bars ran out of ice, canned beer and did not all have brands requested. After our room smelled of sewage for 2 days, we were moved to another similar room. When I asked about compensation, I was offered 2 free drinks! No upgrades, no apologies, no sympathy. Eating in galley was a wait since you could not get food yourself. When good arrived, it was cold and my hubby and I rarely ate together since our food arrived at different times. It appeared the ship was not ready to handle 80% capacity. We took a short trip -- Miami, Key West, Bimini. Ship: Scarlet Lady. Food is offered at (no extra fee) specialty restaurants by reservation and I found all the food at the restaurants delicious. No reservation allowed at the same restaurant 2x. There is also a food court with various stations but ~ except for pickup Bento boxes and some pickup pre-packages stuff (like you'd get at Seven-11) you MUST order through a server. So, actually, no little tastes of things you see that you'd like to try. Although I am not a huge buffet person, I prefer buffets over the staffed food stations so I can look, pick & choose a bit. The balcony rooms include a nice hammock, but our bed was a little hard and the bathroom is like an airplane bathroom with a small shower stall. Unfortunately we had a neighbor who spent most of her time on her balcony next door on her phone, so we really couldn't enjoy our balcony. Sooo.... That required us to enjoy outside seating on the ship's decks. We found all seating in the pool area to be in direct sun. NO LOUNGE CHAIRS IN SHADED AREAS!!! Only seating in shade we triangular foam platforms that are not designed to support the length of a body with feet up. The ship was well staffed and sparkling clean. Decor was exactly the same as living inside an IKEA store for 5 days. The gimmicky "Ahoy Sailors!" Shouted out to us in greeting by staff got old very fast! read more

I genuinely loved the food and entertainment, but nothing will get me back on this cruise line because of how terrible the service and logistical operations were, never mind how confusing the boat design was. Examples: 1. There was a hair in our room service and besides apologizing, they offered nothing. 2. There was no logistical support for excursions. It's very much find your own way there. 3. We had two issues in our room (one with the sink and one with the tablet that controls TV and lights). Neither time did someone come after the first call. They needed to be called again (first time we waited two hours before calling again). 4. Much of the furniture while cute was majorly uncomfortable. 5. Every chance they get they push alcohol on you. 6. The signage around the ship is awful so you never know where you're going and they don't have maps of deck layouts on the app or on the ship. 7. Bathrooms are few and far between and hard to find. 8. The app often was on the fritz. For example, I got no push notifications for any of my events for the first 3 days and on the evening of our last night, I got EVERY push notification for the full 4 days... 9. If you didn't get a dinner reservation ahead of time, you're basically SOL on food. Most of the options in "The Galley" are closed at dinner and the pizza place doesn't open until 9pm. read more

Good afternoon, I hope you're great. I enjoyed the trip the boat was beautiful. Thank you for your help with my runaway trip. I had only one situation, On Monday, Nov 21, I had lunch in the Galley at the salad bar counter. I began eating my salad which had boneless chicken in it. I had two bites before hitting a bone and almost cracking my tooth. I immediately called for wait staff. I removed the bone from my mouth and laid it on a napkin. I was overwhelmed by this finding. The wait staff located the manager to come to my table. The manager brought a napkin to take the bone away, I informed him that this could have been a horrible situation and costly to repair with my dentistry. He offered his apologies and said he would let his manager know about the incident. The gentleman asked for my name and cruise cabin number, and I provided them with my contact information That evening no one contacted me. I started a text chain on Tuesday inquiring about, what would be done. I requested to have a call to my cabin by the management. There was no call or text or email for the request. On Wednesday afternoon I went to the office to inform them that I, needed assistance. They were finally able to get the manager, who came to see me in the office. The manager said he had not been told of the incident, he would follow up with his team and get back to me. I explained the seriousness of this situation and the lack of concern bothered me. On the following morning, there was still no correspondence from anyone. I had a female manager come by my breakfast table; she asks how our trip was going. I told her about the incident, she was seemly concerned about the non-follow-up. I showed her the text thread she took photo shots and said I would hear from someone before we docked on Friday.... That didn't happen. I sent one more request by text through the app requesting a refund and another voucher for a future cruise. I was told the manager was sick and there would be no compensation. I could have choked, and or broken my tooth which would have been substantial damage and cost. I feel like this cruise line lacks empathy due to being ignored. I have never felt disregarded like trash as a customer on a cruise before this incident. Is this the way you all train your staff to ignore requests, not follow up and completely disregard customer service? If fast food restaurants can have more customer service than this cruise line, then your training is below the level of service expected in comparison to the amount of money you charge customers. This is not acceptable. This experience is so undermined that I have shared it with everyone in my sphere of influence, my online communities, my travel agent, my travel companions, and as many people as it will take to warn buyers to beware that the boat is beautiful, but the service could be deadly. Watch out for bones at the salad bar if you choke this could be your last cruise. Getting someone to acknowledge the fact that I went on a cruise seeking peace and serenity and instead had a tumultuous time rectifying a potentially life-altering situation. I have not received an apology, reimbursement, accommodation, or so much as a thank you for bringing this to our attention. read more

Terrible food, over priced drinks, and nothing to do on board. There's is one swimming pool, that can safely hold 15 guests, and at any time there were at least 75-100 people in the pool. Very unsanitary. The food was mediocre at best, none of the restaurants had any thing absolutely amazing, and the service was terrible. There was no consistency in The watered down overpriced cocktails. To top it off the engine started blowing black grease out of the smoke stacks that damaged articles of our clothing. Guest services would not fully reimburse my daughter for her damaged Sandals. Over all terrible experience will never sail with this line again. read more

Was not very impressed with our crew on the Valiant Lady this past week. They were very disengaged and in a few cases out right rude. Food was plentiful but not really all that impressive. We spent an add $1K on the ship yet at each point there was an up-sale of some kind. At some bars we waited up to 20 minutes to get a drink. Seriously rethinking that Barcelona cruise my wife wants to do in 2024. Back to Mexico where your money goes further and you are treated as a guest. read more

Stay away if you are hungry. The only thing open after 10PM is pizza or breakfast. The shows end at 10:30 but no food to be had for the most part of the trip. The Noodle place serves pork, pork and more pork. Terrible. The pastrami sandwich is a joke consisting of 2 slices of meat and more thousands dressing than meat. The Korean BBQ is a joke, forget ordering seafood from the menu because is is missing from the menu except a fried roll and a poor excuse of egg with almost no seafood. I tried the test kitchen but it too so long to get my food, I left the restaurant. The food just gets worst by the week. The signage to find anything is basically does not no ware to be found. An arrow to find a place from the elevator and than nothing to lead to to where you want to go. The seaview room does not have a real chair, just a hard stool and if you want to watch TV, than you have to lay in the bed. The window in 9378A is so dirty you cannot see out of the port whole. They need to try washing the windows. The staff gets a perfect 10 score. Too many ships to try this ship. It was only at 25% capacity and now I know why this is the case. I was sleeping and the fucken cleaning lady opens my door with no knock. What the hell!! I have been on a dozen ships and never this one again. Save your money. read more

They overcharged me $900 for bar tabs. I only realized it when I saw on my bank statement. When I called, the response was "sorry we have problems with our systems". That was the response. Then they also charged me 300 for a room upgrade that didn't happen. They refunded the money but again the response was "sorry we have problems with our systems". My other friends all got upgraded yet they want to charge me double for what they paid. Don't cruise w virgin! Carnival was my u better and more accommodating. This trip was way below expectations. My wife and I booked a suite-level room on Virgin Voyages' Valiant Lady for March of 2024 for our 20th Wedding Anniversary. We spent significant time researching options and were excited to book this trip in January of 2023. Unfortunately, due to a delay in completing construction on their newest ship, Virgin chose to cancel many cruises, including ours, on their existing ships to cover the itineraries for which their newest ship will no longer be available. We received the cancellation notice in September. They offered the option to re-book on a different cruise at the same room level for no additional cost, but they had no remotely similar availability near North America for well over a year. Because of this, and the fact that this trip was planned for our anniversary, we chose to request a refund for our cruise and to plan a different trip. Virgin refunded the cost of the cruise but will not refund the "Voyage Protection" plan we paid for when booking the cruise because it is covered by a third party (though they sell it on their website as part of the payment process). In our case this was $454. Their contract does state that this fee is non-refundable and I can understand that it would not be appropriate to refund this amount under different circumstances (like if we had chosen independently to cancel the trip or if the trip was canceled due to a mechanical issue or some other factor that would allow for reimbursement from the insurer). That said, Virgin made a business decision to cancel cruises many passengers had booked to maximize profit, knowing that they couldn't actually provide equivalent options for the canceled sailings. I have spoken with Virgin representatives on multiple occasions and requested a refund from the insurer, but each has declined to provide a refund. Regardless of whether they are legally obligated to compensate us for this loss, I believe their unwillingness to do so demonstrates a major customer service failure. I am disappointed that we can't share our feedback on the actual cruise, but we will not be considering Virgin Voyages for travel options moving forward. We have now booked a trip on a Norwegian ship that we are excited about, and having sailed with them multiple times in the past we are confident the trip will be great. Given our experience, I would encourage others to look elsewhere when booking a cruise. read more

We went on the Virgin Voyages Scarlet Lady for my spring break (educator). My husband has never been on a cruise and this was my first Virgin cruise (previously only Royal Caribbean and Carnival). We are already ready to book another voyage. It blew away the other cruise lines! From the time we arrived at the port we were on the ship and in our room in 10 minutes. The bracelets are a fantastic touch and it is so nice not having to keep up with a room key. The food was great and loved the concept of going to different restaurants each night. It is way better than the main dining room in other cruise ships. Service was super friendly and they seem way happier and treated way better than on other lines. There are so many places on board to relax, grab drinks, party, sleep, workout. It truly has something for everyone. The rooms were spacious and the hammock on the balcony was a nice touch. We loved it. It turned my non cruiser husband into someone who wants to cruise now! read more
