We were the 7th sailing of NCL's new ship, Luna, which is part of their Prima Class. The ship was beautiful and the crew were all very friendly. We always purchase the Thermal Suite which is located at the front of the ship. They only sell a limited amount of passes which gives you unlimited access to the adults only Mandara Spa area. The Luna has a couple of different sauna rooms compared to their other ships like the Finnish Sauna, Charcoal Sauna and Clay Sauna. They also have an Ice Room which was refreshing after being in the saunas, a Salt Room and an Experiental Shower. The Relaxation Area has heated loungers and padded loungers where you can read a book or just close your eyes and relax. What I didn't like was the buffet area. They no longer have rows of sinks on both sides as you walk in. There is only 1 sink which is sort of "hidden". The soap is under the cabinet so if you are tall, you can't see the sign indicating where the soap is. Their garbage has a spring loaded panel which you have to push hard to get it to open which defeats the purpose of washing your hands. There was 1 crew member off to the side with a spray bottle of sanitizer. They were not really paying attention to people walking in and there was no one enforcing "washy, washy". For some reason, we were unable to make Specialty Dining reservations prior to getting on our cruise. I received an email from NCL 5 weeks before our cruise date reminding me to make reservations for the Specialty Dining but the only one that was available was the Thai restaurant. When we got on a ship, we had to go to the Theater and stand in a long line so that we could make dining reservations. My husband got tired of standing in the line and wandered off to see if we could make reservations a different way. He discovered that we could make dining reservations at Hasuki where there were only a couple of people waiting in line! We went to 2 shows (Hiko & Elton). They don't take reservations for the shows. I don't remember now, but I think the doors open 30 min. before the show. You'll want to start lining up at least an hour (if not more) before the show starts because there was already a line forming. There are two levels for the theater and 2 entrances on each floor. For activities, they have an Aqua Slidecoaster, The Drop which is a 10-story dry slide. a rope obstacle course, mini golf course ($5 fee) and a game arcade. I loved that they had a non-smoking casino. I brought N95 masks anticipating that I was going to have to wear them and was pleasantly surprised that I didn't need them. There is a separate enclosed room for smokers. The Indulge Food Hall was an awesome addition. If you sit at a table, you can order from any of the restaurants in the Food Hall and your food is brought to your table. It's included in your complimentary dining. Overall, we had a great time and are looking forward to another cruise next year! read more

Just returned from a 3 night cruise and overall had a good experience. The staff was fantastic, super attentive, friendly, and always willing to help. The suites were phenomenal, very comfortable, clean, and well maintained throughout the trip. The only downside was the food, which unfortunately didn't live up to expectations and was pretty underwhelming compared to the rest of the experience. Huge, wide open area for boarding the ship. It is very well organized and they move through very quickly. They meet you out at the cars your luggage from there and that will arrive at your room later. In addition, then you walk through the TSA light area to check your carry-on luggage. And then onto another line where you wait for checking in where they stick you in through your passport. It's all went very quickly constantly kept moving and didn't seem too bad. Then you go to awaiting area until they announce your boarding group and then you head on into the ship. This place is very open. Pretty cool architecture looks like a big ship. Lots of white paint. Everybody here has been incredibly friendly, which you would expect for him hospitality business. read more

Sailing on the Norwegian Joy was a bit of a mixed bag. While the ship itself is beautiful and offers some great amenities, there were definitely areas that fell short. Starting with the food it was unfortunately, not the best. The quality was average and considering the price point of the cruise, it left so much to be desired. The cold bar didn't seem as fresh and the burgers and pizza, maybe frozen quality? Oh, also disappointing were some of the venues for some of the artists. Most were too small to accommodate even a handful of people (the Cavern Club was ridiculous). The theater was often overcrowded, with people packed into the aisles, which made it feel uncomfortably cramped at times (Tesla still rocked the boat!) Speaking of price, the cost of the internet and drink packages on this charter cruise was steep, especially for just a five-day sailing. It felt a bit overpriced for what was offered (internet was $149/per person, one device only....yikes) That said, there were definitely highlights mostly our balcony cabin. This is where Norwegian really shines compared to like Royal. Our room was spacious, had a roomy sitting area and plenty of closet space. The bathroom was also pretty large for a cruise cabin. The added touch of bathrobes and slippers made it feel more upscale too. If you're considering NCL, definitely splurge on a balcony room. It is worth it for the extra comfort and space. read more

I have become a lover of cruises. This was my second Norwegian cruise. This was a themed cruise with no children. That was a highlight for me. The pay restaurant had the best food. The buffet was ok. The sailing was smooth. You couldn't even tell we were moving! The drink package was worth it! The balcony room is spacious and money well spent. Staff were attentive. They make sure hands are clean before dining. A person is present at the entrance to tell you to wash your hands with the sanitizer. Definitely going again. Not five stars due to the limited vegan options. It's hard to eat breakfast on this cruise line. There are no vegan desserts. Pretty relegated to salad. Lots of vegetarian though. read more

This review is for the check-in/embarkation/disembarkation process. Check-in/embarkation was super fast and easy. I had already checked-in in advance, so when I got to the NCL terminal, everything was a breeze. When you enter, they take a quick picture of your face like they do at an airport. Then, you go upstairs, your carry on bags are scanned, and you walk through a security metal detector like in TSA Pre-check. After that, I gave an agent my passport, told her my room #, and was given my key card and a boarding group #. That all took only 6 minutes. Then, I waited patiently until it was time to board. Once you board, you have to scan your key card at your assigned muster station, and then you're free to enjoy yourself on the ship. Disembarkation was just as fast and easy. Because I only had a carry on, I could leave whenever I wanted. When you walk through US Border Patrol/Customs, they take a quick picture of your face again, and that was it! read more

Absolutely LOVE Norwegian Cruise Lines: especially the breakfast buffet!!! I so enjoy a healthy hearty breakfast: then, off on adventures, the whole day and night. Nibbling small meals, snacking, soups, salads, pizza, sandwiches, desserts, throughout the day: works well. Keep moving and burning off the calories, is a key tactic. Too easy to rest and relax, in all the chairs, but keep moving, lol! Eliminated are many detailed specialty items: like towel animals, midnight chocolate buffet, Maine lobster night and such. But that is okay, if it keeps the business going and viable. My happy place vacation: feeling safe, happy and appreciated.No cooking, no cleaning, free laundry, few kiddos ( they have special places for them), entertainment galore (Broadway shows) , etcetera: makes this a wonderful experience. The tourism sales pitch is endless: but is the main support income, for many ports and areas we visit. I had such a blast on this cruise. It was a 7 day cruise that went to the Bahamas, Honduras (Roaton), Belize, and Mexico (Cozumel). It was such a great time, and the weather was perfect throughout the entire cruise. Upon arrival, the embarkation situation is hectic, but that's no surprise as everyone is trying to get processed and whatnot. Once we were settled, everything was fine. The ship felt massive inside, and it took a few days to memorize where everything was. It was fun exploring new areas and things throughout the ship. We never had any problems finding places to grab a bite. They have a place called the local that offers basic finger foods and drinks 24/7. It was super convenient when we were waiting around for our room to be ready. The food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, whether it was in the buffet or dining rooms, was absolutely amazing. I was looking forward to the food for this cruise, and I was not disappointed! Everything was incredible. There was also no lack of bars on this ship. Every now and then, we'd come across a bar, which was great as we had the drinking package, and it was also great if we wanted to avoid the busier bars! Our room was spacious and extremely clean. What I appreciated was how quickly we received our checked in luggage. The bed throughout the stay was quite comfortable and better than what I was expecting. Although we brought a lot of personal items, there was plenty of room and storage for everything. Our view was incredible as we had splurged for a balcony in our room, and it was relaxing to be able to get a nice cold drink and sit outside. There's plenty of entertainment around the ship, and what I appreciated was a daily itinerary of everything going on the ship for the day. From comedy sets, trivia, dance parties, and more, we were never bored! Two of the port stops go to their private islands with loads to do! This also applies to the excursions through Norweigen- plenty of fun, exciting, and affordable options. I had a remarkable time on my cruise with Norwegian! Well I absolutely loved my cruise i recently went on and everything was phenomenal from embarkation day to the final day! I will say a couple downsides are how hectic the load on to the ship was, but that's because of other people and no the staff working. The workers were phenomenal with checking everyone's tickets and ID and sending them where they needed to go. The ship I was on was always spotless and it was never hard to find a place to eat while we were on the ship. They had a bar style restaurant that was open 24 hours and had some phenomenal wings and drinks to enjoy there or take over to the casino flood nearby. The entertainment they had on board was a lot of fun and very engaging and i loved playing the trivia they hosted throughout the day on various topics! The beds were super comfortable and the place was always cleaned when we left the room to walk around the ship. I do wish the balcony sides offered a little more privacy compared to other ships but overall an amazing ship and cruise company! read more

First day of cruise now. Buyer beware. Norwegian does not care anymore. We are a high level. Sapphire. No more concierge taking us to our suite. Concierge has one manager and his assistant for way too many clients. They no longer provide enough chairs for their clients to use at the concierge desk. I'm Handicapped. I Was forced to stand waiting 45 minutes while the head concierge sat back. Doing zip. As clients in front of him mulled over shore excursions. Umm You could have set them aside and helped others until they made a decision. NCL used to have a member of the concierge escort us to our room. No more. More expensive for less. We did book the Haven last minute. The room. Beware 11594 it is an after thought room. Perfect example. The door to the bedroom blocks your path to the other side of the bed. Lousy planning or cheap planning. You decide. Room smells musty. Water pooling in the shower. We were sold a balcony with 2 loungers. We got one. When we inquired. I signed up for a cruise, and almost immediately realized I chose the wrong date. Although I wanted to adjust the date right after paying, it was refused. I spoke to half a dozen people to attempt to correct it, but nobody could help. I did not realize that Norwegian had a cancellation/change policy that immediately prohibited any changes. read more

My wife and I took our kids on a Norwegian cruise this year for spring break. We stopped in Cozumel, Belize, Costa Maya, and Roatan Upfront my 2 biggest issues were that ONE they cancelled the kids club, which left it up to us to keep our youngest entertained the whole 8 day trip. Our only accommodation for this was a $100.00 credit to the arcade. Which lasted all of 30 - 45 minutes at best seeing as how the arcade has games running upwards of $8.00 We ran into many parents having the same issue, and were unsure as to why they would still have the teens club, but not the kids. The teens (my son) made friends rather easily, and by the 2nd day was running around the ship with at least 10 other kids living it up. They really didn't need a teen club, because they had all the same benefits as the adults. On top of that we had the "Haven" package, so he had more access than a lot of the adults on the ship. We planned excursions for port days and were really looking forward to the kids club for days at sea, so that my wife and I could get a break and have some time to relax too. My second gripe which pales in comparison to the first was that one of the bartenders decided to go rogue, and make up rules about drinks that were not being enforced ANYWHERE else on the ship and only applied to my wife. My wife ordered a double shot of Jameson (for me), and a cocktail for herself. The bartender tells her that the double shot counted as 2 drinks and made a big deal out of it with HER. I then went to the bar and ordered the same exact thing with no issue, from the same bartender. This was the bar located to the left of the movie screen on the pool deck floor 16 I believe of Joy. I feel like he was just being a jerk, because he certainly did not have the same energy with me... He didn't say anything, and I literally made my order within a minute of my wife, and asked for the same exact thing she did, so he knew what was up. I just didn't understand why he would even bother with making this a thing. The pool deck is the last place you'd expect a bartender to be making up rules, they're typically the most lax. Our stay in the haven though was awesome, whenever we got tired of the bustle in the main parts of the ship, we could come back and lounge in the haven area which is only available to certain guest. The haven has everything you could ask for on the main boat, condensed into a really beautifully packaged area hidden at the top of the ship. It has a bar (drinks depend on your drink package still), restaurant (complimentary everything), and a private sun deck (small pool and lounge area). Haven guest get first dibs to everything, barely any standing in line for anything, which was really convenient when we needed to exit, and re-enter the ship. They also had their own sections for the special events, and staff would escort you to your seats. It's a bit much, but it's worth it not to have to push through crowds. The food on the ship was really good. We did the Teppeanyaki (Hibachi): The food was really good, and the chef was hilarious. Cagney's Steakhouse: Felt like an old mob hangout. The food was fantastic. Q Texas Smokehouse: meh! These were specialty restaurants. My least favorite of which was the smokehouse, but they did have the best drinks and live music. We mostly ate at the Haven restaurant, and the service again was top notch. I saw people ordering food that wasn't even on the menu, and staff was even delivering food to guests rooms. While in Belize we took photos with the on board photographers, and they were excellent. I actually just received our photo's today, and they look fantastic. The photographers went above and beyond while working with us. We could've actually taken more photos back in the studio on the ship, but declined the offer. I myself have an interest in photography and the guys gave my about 30 minutes worth of tips and tricks to help me get better shots. I really want to drive home the point of how awesome they were, while dealing with our family. The photos weren't cheap, but the price definitely is reflected in the quality of the photographers shots, and is also matched by quality of the photos we received (we got the metal ones that go on the wall, really beautiful!). Staff all around the ship was friendly and upbeat, they literally cheered for passengers returning to the ship from the ports, and kept a party vibe going. The "washy,washy" people at the entrance of the restaurant were much appreciated. I'm sure half of the people on the ship wouldn't have washed their hands otherwise. The guys taking care of our room servises were SUPER on point. They knew all of our names before we even got to the room, and they really took care of us on our visit. I took away one star, because of the kids club being closed, but if you don't have kids then ignore it. We had a great time on this cruise. We were able to book and cancel last minute excursions without and issue. Just go! read more

Diane and I just returned from a holiday cruise on the Norwegian Bliss along the Mexican Riviera. Because I forgot what day it was when I booked my dinners at specialty restaurants, this was the first time I have not had any turkey or ham on Thanksgiving Day. Instead we enjoyed a fine Mexican dinner of tableside guac, Burrito Rojo for me, and Shrimp Quesadilla for Diane, along with great elote (Mexican street corn on the cob). This was my fifth cruise on NCL, and my 29th cruise overall. I have traveled on several impressive dames of the sea, but the Bliss is now my all-time favorite. In addition to offering a nightly array of multiple specialty restaurants, including Italian food at La Cucina, fresh seafood at Ocean Blue, French cuisine at Le Bistro , barbecued ribs at Q Smokehouse, Mexican specialties at Los Lobos, surf & turf at Cagney's Steakhouse, cheeseburgers and shakes at American Diner, inventive sushi at Food Republic, and a teppanyaki grill at Teppanyaki helmed by singing grill masters, Local serves fine Fish & Chips and a wicked Reuben Sandwich, and the Garden Buffet displays all manner of enticing dishes. The Bliss also boasts the Horizon Lounge all along Deck 15 with floor to ceiling views of sea and sky, and a large thermal suite with over 20 heated loungers, a large aquatic and whirlpool spa area, salt room, steam room, sanarium, sauna, and snow paradise room. It also operates the largest racetrack at sea and Ocean Loops, a "dead drop" waterslide where the floor quickly falls away. Two Broadway class musicals, "Jersey Boys" and "Six," were breathtaking in their excellence, and the party band Temperature kept the beat going late into the night. All crew members encountered were friendly and eager to assist, and a mix of 4,004 passengers of various ages and nationalities got along well together. We cavorted with a large female sea lion in Puerto Vallarta, snorkeled in Chileno Bay near Cabo San Lucas, and devoured several tasty crustaceans at a Shrimp Fest in Mazatlan. My first time sailing with NCL and overall it was a pleasant experience. Solid 3.5 that I can round up to a 4. Went on a 4-night cruise from Miami to Nassau, Great Stirrup Cay, and back. The boarding process was very orderly and went fairly smoothly, other than a little misdirection about which doors to use for boarding. Once on board the bars were good and fast. Throughout the trip the buffet was just ok. It wasn't the best food I had, but it wasn't disgusting, so overall just a pass here. Service throughout the ship was great though. We did not get to stop at GSC due to weather, which I hear happens almost 50% of the time, which is kind of a terrible success rate. Overall I would cruise with NCL again though. read more

Norwegian Cruise Lines is not my favorite, but not my least favorite either. It's just ok for me. I've been on Holland America, Royal Caribbean, Oceania and Viking. Norwegian is in the middle. I think they've gotten better at the checkin, check out process. It seems like there aren't as many lines. On board, you'll have access to buffets, dining rooms, specialty dining restaurants (extra charge), nightly shows, pools, activities and other things like bowling alleys or rock climbing walls. There are several bars on board too. The food is just ok. We usually ate at the buffet because there was something for everyone. We also bought the specialty dining package, so for 5 nights, we chose to eat at several of the specialty dining restaurants. The food at the specialty dining restaurants is better, but it'll cost you about $30 or more per meal depending on which package you get. The alcohol and drinks are not included on NCL like some of the other cruise lines I've been on. It'll cost about $40 per day to buy an alcoholic drink package. The shows are usually pretty good and the service is exceptional. The only thing I really dislike about NCL is that they are always trying to sell you something. They sell raffle tickets, very expensive shore excursions, ask you to buy drinks at every meal, etc. I'd rather give more money to the people who cleaned our rooms and the servers (who don't get paid!?). read more

We were on one of the first trips for the Norwegian Joy and the crew was so happy to be returning to work and we were so happy to have the much needed break. This nurse and her teacher husband needed time on the water and at Maltings. We had Glen as our bartender at maltings, the whisky bar, and he was exceptional. at the end of our trip, he had been promoted to head mixologist and it was no shock. the ship was clean, extraordinarily so and everyone was so happy to get back to work. the checkin process was great, including the covid testing on arrival to port. I'm so happy that I will be cruising with NCL in June 2022. read more

Cruising in general has lots of choice because the general public don't always want the same things in their cruising vacation. Variety is the spice of life. What we need on Yelp are different likes and dislikes. That way we can make our own personalized decision. Let me start by saying I like NCL. On November 27, 2021; my family and I went on our most recent cruise. It was on the NCL Joy in the Haven VIP "Ship-within-a-Ship" section. Service: The crew in all the ship regardless of section were outstanding. Some were in training others were simply happy to see the guests. Every crew member did their job well that I came in contact with. The best 5-star service was always in the Haven sections as one might expect. Food/Dining: The Haven Restuarant is the best dining on the ship. The issue is the menu never changes from day to day. That is why NCL perks usually include two specialty restaurants to add variety. I am not a fan of the Main Dining rooms or the Buffets except for a quick snack. The specialty restaurants are good but not great. This is my opinion on all Mainstream Cruise lines not just NCL. Suites/Cabin: GREAT but I had a very, very rare opportunity to be in the elusive (H2) Haven Deluxe Owners Suite. Long story but in this case, Covid-19 helped me get a once in a lifetime suite. Ship Condition: Like brand new. Everything was tip top. Excursions: I hate most excursions especially in Mexico. However, the NCL Private Island has a private Beach Villa which is my absolute favorite. One price for six people. Great. Entertainment: This is where NCL is the best. The entertainment is over the top for cruise ships. Broadway shows, great events, bands and events. Better than any other cruise line regardless of price. This cruise goes down as one of my favorite cruises of all time. That says something when you know I have gone on 25 cruises over 42 years. When you read this please remember, the ship was 30% filled. This will never happen again. It was wonderful. Cruise and eat well. read more

Their Miami onboarding situation is atrocious. It's akin to a cattle call. Restrooms dirty with no toilet tissue, no attendants, etc. Got charged $392 per person (for 2 people) for a drink package and got on the cruise and they only gave us credit for one. They said we have a $132 balance (we were never notified about) until we got onto the ship (Norwegian Joy) and now they have to message the corporate office in Miami to get clarification on what to do. Guest services was zero help both times we went to them and now we've wasted an entire day at sea (they have my money and I have no drinks) I'm livid and I want to get off of this ship. Worst cruise experience ever. Royal caribbean would never give horrible service like this. I won't ever cruise with them again. read more

I would give a zero star review if I could. My biggest complaint. HORRIFIC CUSTOMER SERVICE. First we booked a family vacation consisting of 6 people back in 2019 due to sail in 2020. Many friends and family members had purchased us gift cards as Christmas gifts. Due to Covid-19 our trip was cancelled. We rebooked in 2021 still during Covid for December of 2022 aboard the brand new NCL Prima. Because we did not use the gift card within 12 months we had a $50 gift card completely depleted, a $100 gift card with $36 and a $250 gift card with only $181 due to a $3.00/month fee. When you call the customer service number on the card to dispute transactions it hangs up on you. When you call customer service or visit the guest relations desk, their response is you have to call the number on the back of the card. Even after you just told them and called in front of them to prove, it hangs up on you. THEY STILL WILL DO NOTHING!! 2nd issue. We booked on Prima a party of 8. People sharing the same cabin on completely different flights. You may say, okay well no big deal. However, our cruise is was booked out of Miami with only 1 person of 8 scheduled to fly to Miami. The rest, FT Lauderdale about 40 minute away and flights 12 hours apart. Again, nothing done by NCL. Not even a courtesy phone call back. We spent an additional $1400 in airfare to fly together. Lastly, for my 10 year wedding anniversary I put in a bid for an upgrade. An offer of over $1600. I am sitting onboard and it still shows pending. I went to the "Guest Services" desk only to be told "oh, you would only be notified if you received it, not if you didn't". Again, just the icing on the cake to absolutely horrific customer service. Please please please do yourself a favor and book Royal Caribbean, Celebrity or Princess. read more

The trip to their private island was a total disaster as they use tenders to ferry passengers. I handicapped they advise you do not go. Almost Everything on board closes while there making it difficult for those who stayed on board. The disembarkations system made that at the island seem good. Stood in line for nearly two hours as it moved slowly and there was a total lack of control as it had us walking all around the ship. They tried a color coded system but did not enforce it and the ship's crew appeared lost and incompetent. DO NOT SAIL ON NORWEGIAN which I never thought I'd say as I have used them a number of times in the past Despite this during the cruise the staff was very helpful, friendly and courteous read more

So we went on this 4 day long weekend getaway to the Bahamas on one of Norwegian's small and older ship out of Miami. The ship was very well kept for being an older one. Having been on one of their newer ships, I have to say I didn't know what to expect. But I do have to say I wasn't disappointed. I knew that this company tries to maintain a very good reputation with their operating standards. The accommodation's, food and the customer service were outstanding. If you have never done one of these 4 day cruises you must, its worth it. We wanted to go to Cuba as well, but to be quite honest I almost felt like we were in Cuba on the ship. I'm a Latitudes member and sailed with Norwegian back in 2003/2005, and it was very different Sailed on the Gem 4/12 to 4/19 Boston to Bermuda now that my daughter is old enough to enjoy the experience, the ship was larger than my previous sailings on The Majesty...After this cruise, I think I'll start looking at Carnival or Royal Caribbean for future sailings. 1. They didn't offer the same great shore excursions...Swizzle Inn, peppercorn helmet dives etc (just to name a few) 2. The staff at seemed Ill prepared. During a caves and waves excursion, a young child who was stung by a Portuguese man O war. The staff didn't warn any of the passengers that that was a possibility. And when the child it was stung they did nothing to assist the family. Instead the frantic father had to run into several restaurants where locals were able to assist the child. (Meat tenderizer works as s FYI). 3. Their child care service seemed lacking. It was April vacation and there were over 800 children on board. But not enough activities to keep everyone occupied. 4. The 2/4 Of the shows they deemed family friendly--- were anything but. The comedian, although hilarious was more PG13. Blazing boots had some risque song-and-dance that were very sexual in nature (example: save a horse ride a cow boy). 5. It appears now that Norwegian offers drink packages, they don't have staff walking around asking if you would like a beverage. I didn't purchase a drink a package as I was traveling with my child - - but certainly was open to having a cocktail or 2, which would have actually made them some money. Instead you had to wait at a bar upwards of 15 minutes to be served. 6. You are not authorized to bring your own hair dryer on board, which is understandable. However my hair dryer cord was compromised and caused me to be shocked And have the potential to become a fire hazard with continued use. I reported it to the concierge desk-- I was treated as though I caused the damage. And was treated very rudely.... I could have left it and waited for an evential news report of a fire on board, but I didn't want that on my conscience. 7. I it made reservations for 2 at restaurant you have to pay to go to (Cagneys Steak House). We made some friends and wanted to invite them - - the concierge gave me a hard time because the restaurant was booked. But offered a nother dining option that I accepted - - but she never bothered to make it the reservation, Luckily the restaurant was able to squeeze us in. 8. We would leave in the morning at explored the ship for hours, when we would return to our state room, it would be untouched. When we finally gave up on having clean towels or somone making our beds-- that's when people would be knocking on the door. 9. No more towel animals.....My kid was really looking forward to one. We spoke to several other people that were on the island aboard another cruise line, and it seemed like their experience was far greater than ours. The island was nice.... read more

Had to give one star because they won't let you leave a review without one. Keep in mind that should be a -10. The boarding process is the worst I've ever seen. Even Burlington Coat Factory can figure out how to get people through a line faster than this place. Not to mention that after three hours there's no place here to get even a cold water or soda. The director in charge of actives, Kyle, was super energetic, funny, and engaging. He made my super awesome Christmas gift and 1st time on a cruise a memorable one. The bf said this cruise line was okay in terms of other cruises he had experienced. The trip was a three day trip that ported in Miami that hit the Nassau and the Great Stirrup Cay. We didn't get to dock at the latter due to the sea swells, but the activities were redirected to accommodate everyone on board. I didn't particularly like how the activities slightly changed without a new program being announced. The ship itself wasn't super huge like the cruises that are week longs -- no water slides and what not. There were basket ball hoops, ping pong tables, a batting area, golf area, and shuffle board. The cleaning staff was cordial and friendly, but it seemed like we didn't get towels made of animals with each cleaning as the bf informed me. They did address us by name though. For rooms that ended up being approx. $100 per day, we didn't care much. These were the cheapest rooms possible: one king bed, no windows, and it was right under the kitchen and towards the back of the ship. Dinners were separated into three areas: buffet style, sit down (included in the cruise package), and some other fancy choices that were extra. The quality of some of the food items weren't great, but it wasn't at all shabby. I really liked how the outside restaurants opened up for the midnight nibblers. :) read more

We have always enjoyed our cruise time on Norwegian, but this last trip not so much. Embarking and disembarking was a nightmare. Took over two hours both ways. Service is normally their strong suite, not so much this trip. Bar service was an embarrassment in my opinion. Bartenders were non-verbal for most part and didn't seem to care how the drinks looked or tasted. Do better! read more

We've now sailed twice with NCL and we're raving fans! Full disclosure, both sailings have been in the Haven so that's always going to help. The real reason we are fans though is the service. We sailed on Disney and Royal Caribbean as well and the service on Norwegian is top notch. We have yet to encounter an employee that does not seem genuinely happy to be there and taking care of guests. This is not always the case on the aforementioned lines. I do recommend the Haven level room if you plan to spend time in the pool. The one area that Norwegian has not done a great job with is their pool areas. They are too reliant on the waterslides to keep people happy. The Haven has its own private pool! Enough of the negatives though, the food is awesome. I've shared quite a few photos from our most recent sailing. We typically hate buffets but love the garden café. Norwegian is doing a great job. Go check them out! read more

Booked our cruise on Norwegian Dawn and spent the extra money for a balcony room that was to include all six free offers. Prices for this cruise started at $529 with the free at sea offers however being interested in all six offers we paid $1,200 per person for the upgrade. After NCL processed my credit card I received a confirmation email that did not include any of the advertised offers. After 3 calls and 2 hours on the phone I was told it was my responsibility to read the fine print. Very unprofessional customer service and no interest in helping me at all. I am definitely a fan! From their amazingly easy embarkation process, to the staggered, organized disembarkation, the trip was awesome! Their staff really goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome and comfortable. This particular voyage was a Star Trek themed cruise (which was awesome, by thr way!!). With over 2,000 nerds, there was never any issues with crowding in any restaurants and public areas. The food is decent enough for large production cooking. We did not try any of the extra charge restaurants though. Water pressure in the shower was phenomenal! That's usually something lacking on cruise ships. read more

I have physically lost count on how many cruise itinerary ships we've traveled using both hands. I'm certain we can close the book which brought us back to a complete circle. What I mean, our first cruise was a newlywed cruise and this most current cruise ironically was the first time traveling alone as just two adults in a very long time. That's what I mean by a full circle. Of course traveling as a family has been a great experience in between but I have to admit, we got buck wild on this one. I reached out to Norwegian in mid October in hopes of securing a eastern Caribbean cruise since we had visited the southern and western region. What turned out as a possibility had me securing a deposit the next day after researching on airfare. Since I already knew staterooms with balconies where available, I secured our flights first. The rest was easy peasy waiting for our embarkation date. Traveling super light with luggage we didn't have to check-in any luggage or wait around for anything left at the hands of a third party. The Escape being the newest flagship at Norwegian has been in service since 2015 and is currently the tallest ship at sea. 17 floors and standing at around 196' tall is pretty impressive. Did I mention it's approximately 1,069' in length, that's a lot of walking. The engineering facts are mind boggling. Just to give you a few fun facts, they can produce water at sea by producing their own evaporating system. Recycling water by incorporating a reverse osmosis system, They have the technology to recycle cardboard, plastics, glass and feed the ocean floor with processed leftover foods. Of course all of this is heavily regulated by a dedicated environmental officer. Embarkation: Passengers began boarding at 12pm and officially sounded ship to shore horns at around 7'ish. First, a mandatory all hands at your designated muster station for a quick run down on emergency evacuation at sea and explain in detail how to wear life jackets and board life vessels designed to hold 314 passengers each. I believe I counted 10 plus they have inflatable rafts as secondary. Everyone is accounted plus staff. It's a big party at sea from start to finish as your cruise director with staff do a phenomenal task at entertaining everyone with a handful of different events. If you're traveling single, couple, family, groups, retired, they offer many options to keep you on your toes. Things to do while at sea: Bowling Alley Arcade Gaming casinos Library Comedy shows Theater Plays Movie Theater Live music Meet and greet entertainers/chefs DJ Wet amenities Sun bathing All inclusive breakfast, lunch and dinner Gourmet Cuisine with cost Dufry shops tax & duty free Day Spa Gym, yoga, spin class, jogging Art Gallery Wine tasting Daycare This cruise included ports: St Thomas, US Territory Island Tortola, British Territory Island Nassau, Bahamas I have to admit, going out late at night to breathe fresh ocean air and see a vast amount of our constellation sky at night is priceless, it's a rare sight to see since we're blinded by our local city lights. The ocean is a great place to be if you're into that sort of thing. I would love to see how ships used our constellation to travel thousands of miles and navigate at sea. Another fun fact, conversing with staff members representing various countries, lot's of diversity and everyone displays mannerism to the fullest. Look for late night parties shared by passengers along with entertainers. This all goes down after midnight. Trust me, people sleeping can't hear a thing. Pura vida :) read more
