The quality of care was top notch! All the nurses, CNAs, therapist: shout out to John (PTA), Tony (OT), Camille (student OT), and Gina (ST) were all so wonderful and amazing! I could tell they truly care about their patients and so passionate of what they do. They definitely go above and beyond for their patients. All of the other staffs there were all so wonderful as well including Maria (case manager), Dr. Eng, Joey (PT lead), the receptionist, the kitchen staff, the housekeeping, etc. I'm so glad I chose this location for my mom. They took really good care of her and they were very helpful with any questions I had. The facility is very nice and clean as well. I'm not complaining about that so much as the lack of notice, the lack of explanation on what our options were and the utter lack of concern about the stress surrounding all of it. They should know more about how the process works than I do - and they either don't, or don't care enough about the family the patient or the process to explain any of it. I know more about how Medicare, medigap and supplemental insurance than the management of this facility after going through this process one time. The care here is good enough. Some wonderful nurses and some impatient ones. But it's a tough job and I appreciate anyone doing this for a living. But understand the process and be ready to be thrown out with no safety net and no help figuring it all out with literally no notice. Once insurance because an issue they were relentless over a 24 hour period about getting her out. OK - I get it, nothing is free. But they know the process, we don't and they really offered no help in what to do next since she couldn't go home. PS : our mom passed within a week of getting kicked out of here and honestly the stress of it all was a factor.

I felt like we could get way more out of our therapy. I'm so happy we found The Speech House! My son receives speech/feeding, occupational, and physical therapies. We could not be happier. The therapists are exceptional at tailoring your child's therapy session to the child, and not just doing a cookie cutter session. My son LOVES going to therapy and LOVES his therapists. Everyone Maria hires lives up to her standards of being helpful, effective, genuine, compassionate and knowledgeable and we appreciate that. When Colleen informed you that the boys are "good to go," she was referring to us having a script and having all paperwork completed. We are out of network and you know this information as you have received services with us in the past as well and you know we are out of network. INFORMATION FOR PARENTS: My son hadn't been at Speech House for a long time. The owner (Maria) took a 2-month break. We had a 7-year treatment history with her. After her request she rarely answered emails. I tried to start services again, she would say we could start soon, disappear again, and then lie about not getting emails. This was not only affecting my child, but incredibly disrespectful. I finally gave up. Over a year later the occupational therapist for BOTH my boys tells me she is transferring from her current company to Speech House in 2 months and transferring clients with her. She been our therapist for years. This is when I'm also told the owner (Maria) now has an army of office staff. I realize she's been spending her time creating a puppy mill business. This was her concern instead her clients. I'm also offered speech again with us moving over, but with a different therapist. For the next two month's the OT keeps telling me everything is "good to go" according to Speech House. We are asked to get referrals from our pediatrician and provided our insurance information. I'm never contacted further by the office. Then the day before the change my insurance calls to let me know this company is OUT of network THE SAME DAY authorization is sent by Speech House. Knowing this beforehand they said nothing. They waited until the day before the change to send this to our insurance! Later the owner (above) attempts to blame parents for not knowing who she is currently contract with for insurance. At the time when my insurance called, I immediately reached out to the Speech House. They casually offered to switch to "cash pay" for $600 monthly, like it's no big deal. I was placed in a horrible position. Do this or loose services. You can wait a year or more to replace lost therapy. I have two boys and two different therapies now at stake. But I had no choice but to decline cash paying. Only then did they offer to do a letter of agreement with my insurance so they would be paid as "in network. But they wanted me to do it for them. I stop my workday to spend hours dealing with the situation. Our insurance then advised I could not negotiate an agreement on behalf of Speech House. Plus, the current authorization must be canceled. A letter of agreement cannot be done if out of network service is authorized. I call Speech House again and provide this information to contact our carrier directly. I get an attitude as if I'm putting them out after putting me in this situation. An approval response is 10 days. I'm told they will handle this. Our OT then calls the office as well to follow up and was discouraged from being involved. Two weeks later I get an email telling me to approve the previous authorization again, which I remind them that's approving cash pay and a letter of agreement was to be requested. The next week I'm sent another email stating BOTH my children's spots for OT AND SPEECH were given away and have a nice day. I was shocked. The owner then explains they are not "obligated" to do a letter of agreement, but they will not send me a bill!!! Then I realize a letter of agreement was never requested with our insurance. They just kept pushing for an authorization to cash pay and then canceled my boys services instead. They also cannot legally send a bill when we NEVER had services with Speech house AND the speech therapist never saw my son. If you enjoy dealing with a company who is dishonest, rude, has no accountability for their actions, runs a puppy mill for money over children, dealing with the owner Maria who has no moral compass, being blamed for their negligence, or screwing over your special needs children for at least a year.... this is your place!!! The facility is beautiful in a Tuscan theme. The staff is amazing, they are the nicest empathetic group of people. The food is a good variety. The only qualm I have is my dad isn't able to feed himself and has been going without food. He won't ask for help because he doesn't want to bother anyone. I would recommend this facility to anyone and everyone. Thank you for taking the best care of my dad.

My 92-yearl-old dad stayed and rehabilitated at AHC (Sunset and Jones location) for a couple of…read moremonths. He had suffered stroke-like paralysis on one side for both his arm and leg. We thought his recovery was an extreme longshot at best. However, thanks to the truly superb staff, he was able to slowly but successfully regain his ability to walk as well as a lot of his abilities to be somewhat independent. This would not have been possible without the amazing medical assistants, nurses, physical and occupational therapists, wound care specialists, case managers and even their maintenance man. When dad first arrived, and for most of his stay, he was completely dependent on AHC staff for bathing, toileting, getting food, and all. The staff was so attentive, patient and understanding (he did get grumpy and stubborn at times as he was dealing with a lot of medical issues;-) They never missed a beat and motivated him to keep working hard and improving. Without hesitation, I highly recommend this AHC for rehab. A few names I must recognize: Himani, Jordan (therapists), Mary, Janet and Chanel (the CNA's), Luz the head nurse, her daughter the woundcare specialist (forgot her name:-) and Arnelle the maintenance man. Arnelle didn't even have anything to do with patient care, but he had such a positive, smiling and motivational presence and got to know our dad and kept him smiling and laughing on a daily basis which is hard to do when someone has just lost their independence and is in pain. A huge thank you to the entire team; they are really like a family.
