My mom and her dogs are not fans of cats, so when I came into town for an extended stay, I needed to board my kitty. I was able to make a reservation through their website. I made sure to bring copies of his shot records. Cats and other smalls like rabbits, hamsters, etc have their own room which is nice. Those dogs sure can be loud and rambunctious. I was able to visit him each day and take him out of the kennel to let him walk around and play a bit. I brought his own food as to not upset his tummy. They provide litter pan and blanket. Price can't be beat. Staff is friendly and try to keep the animals calm and cared for during their stay. read more

If for some reason your dog gets injured while staying here, your pet will not receive the proper care they need, and the staff will not communicate to you or take ownership of the situation. Our pet Banjo received a pretty gnarly wound while staying there. We were mislead as to the severity and cause of the injury. Banjo was not taken to the veterinary urgent care center when it happened as he should of been, and ended up having to receive about 15 stitches for the cost of $1,200. I understand that accidents happen and dogs will be dogs, but the lack of accountability and the disgusting communication and behavior we experienced after our fur baby was injured during their watch was very unprofessional and unacceptable. read more

Beware that if you don't use her service often enough she will deny your pet booking during her holiday hours. I have taken my dog there previously, it had been a while but I was still a returning customer. After booking my online reservation for the holidays, she informed me that she only takes her "existing customers" during the holidays. I informed her I was a returning customer but she still denied my reservation. It's her business so she can do that but other people should know her policy that she doesn't disclose online. You can make your appointment and your plans but she'll call you and tell you she won't take you. read more

Our vet recommended this place, and it was close to our house. When we got back after 3 days we noticed a cut on our dogs head above his eye. I called the place and left them a message to call me back. They never called back. I finally called them after inspecting the wound more thoroughly, and found it inflamed and full of pus. I called them again, and this time they said they tried to call us back, and that the didn't notice the wound, and they don't cover any injuries that happen at their facility. Vet says it's 600$$ to stitch up the wound. Our weekend at the lake just became a lot more expensive. Thanks a lot you careless people. My advice to anyone considering leaving their pup here: don't. I've seen my fair share of proficient, safe, and caring daycare and boarding environments, and this is not one of them. We didn't have to make it past the tour to know our dog would not be well-off in this environment. Below are some of the questions we asked and the unsatisfactory (and dangerous) answers we received! Do you provide a temperament test? -no. we just see how they do with all the dogs once they're here. ((DANGEROUS)) Who stays overnight with the dogs? -no one. outside of business hours, we lock up and they stay in the kennels. Why aren't the dogs outside playing? -we let them out in shifts to play for 20 minutes or so at a time. And someone watches them? -no one is out here when they play. the fences keep them in and we keep an eye on them from the front office. ((THIS ONE IS SO DANGEROUS! Especially considering there is no temperament test! Anyone who's owned dogs knows a dog fight can happen in an INSTANT over something as small as a leaf. To get from the front office to the dog yard, it's a good 20-30 seconds and that's if you run.)) So the dogs are on their own most of the time? -yes. during the week, we lock up at 6 and someone gets in when we open the next day pretty early. I'm truly astounded by the lack of attention and care to the animals here. It felt more like a pound than a daycare facility. read more

I'm very impressed with VIP. Every step, from creating a reservation, to calling to check in, to pick up was easy and professional. Each staff member I spoke to was exceptionally nice and provided lots of help and information. My 95lb dog stayed with them for 5 nights. I called to check in once and received a great update from the staff. I also booked a grooming session for him before he came home. When I picked my dog up, he was clean and TIRED! Tiring him out is a hard thing to do and I worried being in a boarding facility that he would be full of energy when I picked him up. But he had lots of play groups and interactions with staff, he had a lot of fun I can tell. He was clean and well groomed and staff followed all of my instructions on his feeding. I know he was well cared for during his stay and I will definitely be booking here again. I'm even considering day care for him some days! read more

We love VIP!!! We've left our reactive dog there a few times now and they treat him so well. We feel so special coming in when they know his name and condition. I moved to Visalia over two years ago and thought my little chihuahua mix would be better off in a safe, calm place, while everything got moved into he house. I left her for two night. When I picked her up I thought all was well. I was given her blanket (that I had left with her and a couple of toys, etc.). They told me they had washed her blanket, which was a little confusing to me, but when I got out to the car and held my little girl on my lap I could see why. She had dried diarrhea all over her rear end! And I was carrying her and holding her on my lap. putting her on my car seat! Nasty! It was awful. They never told me she had diarrhea. I would not have been upset if they had told me, as she would do that sometimes with stressful changes, but they should have told me. No transparency there, apparently. read more

Do not leave your beloved pets here! We picked up our sweet little dog after coming back from a family trip and noticed the next day that she had two identical sets of puncture wounds (one in her throat and one on her chest). There was also bruising around her neck and a fairly sizable patch of hair missing where the bruising was. Below where we found bruising and the puncture wounds on her neck was a section of hair that had gotten matted. It seems like she may have had something around her neck? Which would account for the matting and that what ever was around her neck possibly gave her the bruising. However, I'm not sure how she would have gotten the two sets of identical puncture wounds? We asked if another dog bit her, but they said no. However, when you see the puncture wounds they look scabbed over from a couple days and they're identical. She was also very thin. I've never felt her bones the way she felt when we got her back. Which just adds to state we got her back in. We sent the amount of food she would have eaten for the eleven days we were gone plus one extra can just in case. She should have eaten one whole can a day. We got back half of the 12 cans we sent, which has never happened before. Usually we get a couple back but not half the flat. I feel so bad for leaving her with these people. They clearly did not care for her how they should have. My husband spoke to the owner who said she cared for her but if that's true then she really wasn't paying very good attention to her care to have not noticed these things. We will be finding a different place to board our pets in the future. read more

This place is great! The staff is nice and friendly and you cannot beat their dog daycare prices! They always take my dog in on short notice and she loves it there. My dog is always very excited when I drop her off at daycare and comes home exhausted. I also think they do a good job at trying to maintain the cleanliness of the facility. Left my dog over the weekend after pet sitter fell through Had to make last minute reservation the Night before. Fortunately there was room at this inn. The staff was super friendly and answered all my questions. They were also friendly to my dog when I dropped her off and picked her up. It was nice to see her playing with other dogs. They probably have to separate the dogs that are jerks which are kept in separate areas. I will definitely use them again if needed. read more

After going for a trip for more than I week, and calling to check in on my dog almost everyday, from a super healthy dog to a dog that lost 6 lbs and kidneys were failing, he almost died... He was not drinking water for more than 5 days... if they told us we would've came back immediately... I highly recommend this place for your boarding or daycare needs. I've left my two dogs before for a few hours and they get so miserable. However, I left my two dogs for two days and they came back home extremely happy and full of warmth. When I called in. It was last minute. The young woman who I spoke with was helpful prior to deciding to use their services. They also let me come in to tour and make sure I had the correct immunizations. It was super clean. And smelled great. I was shocked. While the doggies are there. You can also opt for your pets to get groomed before coming home. And they were so soft and smelled great. We absolutely LOVE VIP Pet Boarding for our dogs! To me, the proof is in the pudding, every time we take them there, they are so excited to jump out of the car and run straight inside and to the back! It makes me so happy to know that they are happy while we are away. One of the first things that won me over about them is that not only will they feed them your own food (some kennels do not) but they are even willing to feed them the raw diet I give my dogs. That is almost unheard of among kennels. They are great about giving them any medications and supplements they may be on as well. You don't just ask someone if they want a bath for their dog during their extended boarding there without letting the customer know that it ISN'T complimentary! I don't know if they are oblivious to the fact that MANY kennels offer a complimentary bath during boarding after a certain time (usually 3rd day) but how they handle things is bad business. I did notice my dog was thirsty when I got home, but wasn't sure if he had spilled tbe water dish to his kennel or had just ran out. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. We boarded our dog Friday night through Monday morning just a couple days after a grooming service else where and when we picked her up she was covered in urine, her whole stomach, back legs and front paws. When we got her home she drank two water bowl and ran around my house in circles like she had been locked up for days. I called to ask what happened and if she had been let out of the kennel But all I got were a bunch of excuses. The owner was the one I was speaking to and she said my dog was out playing, sat in another dogs urine and apparently rolled around it in. She said it's very common for this to happen. This must have been a huge puddle and she must have been submerged in it by the amount that was on her fur. She kept repeating "They're just dogs " and told me I don't have to return and that is my right as a customer. Well guess what I won't and neither will any of my family or friends. She didn't try to make it right or even apologize. read more

Had good past experience with this kennel, but this time not so much. Our two dogs stayed six nights here. After getting them home, we found they were infested with fleas! Our dogs travel with us, do not go to dog parks, are not around any other animals, and are inside pets. So, we find the fleas after transporting them in our truck and getting them inside our fifth wheel of course. I called twice to let them know what happened. Never received a call from the owner, only a "sorry that happened" from the girl on the phone. No offer to take care of the problem either, as they do not provide flea dip or services of that nature...I asked... was told they spray the kennels once or twice a month for fleas. First trip to Walmart for supplies was 150.00, now the truck as to be debugged and several more treatments for our fifth wheel. This will end up costing us 500.00 plus the 300.00 we paid to have our dogs kenneled. Not happy at all. Will not go back nor will we recommend them to others. read more
