Top notch staff and incredible bedside manner. We aren't from the area and didn't have a regular vet picked out. Before I get into the story of why, I would absolutely come back to Dr. Proctor and his team. We had to go to an emergency hospital the day before and our dogs condition ended up being very rare. We brought her into Dr Proctor for a second opinion and possible euthanasia. When we visited Dr. Proctor, he fit us in on a half day, reviewed her records and explained the difficulty of her condition. His sensitivity to my wife's and my needs was beyond my expectation. He was prepared to treat her condition but respected and understood our choice to put our girl down. I don't have words to thank him and his vet tech staff for how they handled our dog and us. read more

I am new to the area. I phoned Care this morning to set up an appointment for to update the rabies vaccination for my girl. The next appointment is a week away... next Monday. I was told to book the appointment I need to pay a $62 deposit on a card. WHO pays for services they have not re'cd. We had to bring our sweet 18 year old kitty in this weekend for end of life assistance, which was very traumatic as it was our first experience with having a pet put to sleep. Everyone was so wonderful at the clinic. They were kind and gentle with both my husband and I, and our Jasmine. Every step was explained and we were given as much time as we needed to say goodbye and make arrangements for her cremation. They charge a $62 fee for cancelling an appointment, even if it is a few minutes before. Moreover, they don't tell you about this beforehand. I asked to speak to a manager who never called me back. The one other time I was in there I waited 20 minutes in a room for the doctor to give my dog two shots, even though there was only one other dog in there. On a separate occasion, they gave me grief about rabies shots proof even though I was going to get the proof by the end of the day...Go to Petco instead. They take longer, but at least you know what you are getting in terms of fees... read more

I chose this clinic a little over a year ago after I became a first time pet owner after reading all the positive Yelp reviews. As with any business, and especially one that deals with our furry family members, there are some negative reviews... but the fact that the owner always politely replies to those with an explanation really eased my concern- it showed me that he cares about people's pets AND his business and I appreciate and respect that. Dr. Neu has been our vet, and I have brought my dog Lucy in for all her vaccinations, one appointment when she was a pup and she was acting sick (they did the appropriate testing and an exam and it turned out she must have eaten something weird- she was back to her normal self a day or so later,) and for her spay. Lucy LOVES going to the vet. The girls who work here are always super sweet with her, love on her, tell her how cute she is, etc. They always ask before petting her or giving her treats, but Lucy is always so excited to see them I don't think I could keep her from them if I tried. :) Dr. Neu is great at explaining anything I need to know and answering any questions I may have, and she has a sweet, calming, professional presence... and Lucy loves her too. Dr. Neu always makes sure to give her lots of loves and pets before her exams, vaccinations, etc. I'm always provided with thorough instructions, up front estimates, etc., and they're great about using technology to communicate when vaccinations are due, emailing records as requested (in a timely fashion,) etc. Lucy's most recent appointment was today for her spay. They've definitely had to revamp procedures to accommodate their patients in the era of COVID-19, but they've adapted well- everything was done efficiently and safely. Thanks Care Vet Clinic! I can't believe this guy is still in business! We took our dog in to see him in the 90's. He walked in the room, our dog growled and he hit her so hard she was knocked down to the floor. I consulted with three other vets and was told they would absolutely NEVER hit a pet EVER. His partner at the time called me and pleaded with us not to go public. He tried to make excuses for his bad behavior. When I went to pick up her records from the office, they had written "Owner does not want pet to be disciplined" in caps. I still have all her records, including from the Vet who cared for her for the rest of her life. She lived to be 12 and was never, ever aggressive with anyone. Do people like that change? read more

Our dog Samantha bravely fought a burglar. She was hurt in the fight cuz the guy had a hammer. Not exaggerating, the wound was easily 8"x 6". A large flap of flesh. We contacted CVC and immediately we were seen. After the vet (Melissa) saw Samantha and assessed the damage she came to me personally and broke down the process. She was very empathetic, sharp and professional. the price was very reasonable. Later down the road my heeler Samantha was even excited to go to "see the vet" lol! I'd say those exact words and she'd get super excited. The staff was also very professional. As a business owner my self I understand you can't Always make every one happy. My experience at care veterinary clinic was amazing. Nichole (front desk person) was so receptive and understanding of my emergency and fit me in the day of , which was a relief. Jackie was the vet technician examined my dog while telling my worried 3 year old step by step what she was doing for her dog. Then Dr. Sunderson did the same when he came into the room, and also pointed out things about my dog I was going to mention but he beat me to it. Literally everyone was happy that worked there and loved animals. All the staff had multiple dogs and cats at home, I know this because my daughter asked everyone that worked there. My dogs Toby and Molly love him, and his compassion for animals is very evident, the people that goes to this clinic sees it as well as the animals feel it. We come to this clinic for 17 years, they always take good care of our animals. Yesterday it was a sad time for us to put one of our Golden Retrievers to sleep at the age of 14 years. Due to the Covid-19 customers are not allowed in the clinic, but since we needed to put our sweet dog to sleep we were allowed to stay with our dog and they let us into the side door. Dr Sonja Peterson took all the time for us to say goodbye to our dog, when the dog past away without pain and actually pretty fast, Dr Sonja and the staf gave us all the time to stay with our dog to say farewell, this gave us such a peaceful feeling and made the pain for us a little more bearable. I have been the owner of 2 Toy Poodles since they were puppies they have been examined and treated at Care Veterinary Clinic. My precious Luna, 2 years ago was diagnosed with a collapsed trachea. Thanks to the care and treatment from the veterinarians at Care Veterinary Clinic we were able to have an additional 2 years with her. She crossed the Rainbow Bridge on April 23, 2022. Simply put they don't know the process for international travel and will try to bleed you and squeeze you of your money for this whole process. More details: First off the requirements for a pet to travel in a plane is a health certificate and vaccines. Then the health certificate is noted by the nearest USDA-APHIS VS. There is no question there. We even came to their clinic having done all the research knowing that the only requirement we needed was a rabies vaccine and a health certificate. We called all the government offices and they assured us of this. Then, off the bat, this clinic wants us to do is call a "pet relocation service" (i.e. pay me thousands of dollars to have your pet relocated). I believe they recommended Air Animal or a different option that quoted us $2000 and up. We obviously do not want this option because , while they would do all the paperwork, they would still ship the pet in a cargo space by herself for 16 hours. If we do everything correctly we would be able to travel with our pet in cabin and it only would have cost us $150 max for the airfare and $200 max for all the paper work and vaccines. We refused and said we just need the rabies vaccine updated and the health certificate. Second, they wanted to up sell the vaccines. See, we're traveling to where vaccines would be cheaper. We refused them several times but because they were talking as if they wouldn't do the health certificate without those vaccines we decided to just pay for it. So we ended up spending a ton of money on vaccines we ended up not needing for the purpose of this travel. Third, we asked several times, directly "do you have the International Health Certificate USDA-APHIS 7001 form?". They answered yes several times and we did not think to research what the form looked like. That was a mistake on our part because it turns out that they did not have the "International Health Certificate USDA-APHIS 7001 form" but had an old form that the USDA-APHIS has phased out. The form had been changed for over 4 years and this Veterinary clinic did not have this updated. Fourth, the good doctor forgot to put her signature on the Rabies health certificate. Something that is a standard procedure for all pet travel, international or not, with the old and new forms Fifth, This would all not be an issue if there was a USDA-APHIS VS that would certify these forms in Visalia. This can only be done in Los Angeles/ San Francisco. So unknowingly with the wrong form, and missing signatures we head out 4 hours to go and be rejected for travel because of this doctor's mistake. We had to go back to Visalia from los angeles (another 4 hours) to have them correct their mistake and have her sign a page then go back to Los Angeles to finally have it certified (another 4 hours = total 12 hours wasted). When we called for assistance from them they could not either wait for us to arrive. When we "set up" a time to meet earlier than their hours this problem was not even endorsed to anyone. We ended up waiting a long time early in the morning knocking on their door and being looked down on their secretary since their sign clearly said they were still closed. The worst is throughout the phone calls and the conversation in the clinic about their mistakes that cost us several working days, gas and money, they blamed us and told us that we should have just done the overpriced "Pet Relocation Services". This review is for their service/help for animals going outside of the country. Whether they provide stellar care on a regular basis is irrelevant to the service I received from them.
