I've been receiving eye care from Vision Associates for years now and have always had a great experience with the doctors, opticians, and office staff. During my recent visit there was a bonus: an optician I hadn't worked with before provided me with the best assistance I've ever had selecting my new frames. And we're talking about a lot of opticians and a lot of frames! This young man was able to articulate clearly why certain frames were more flattering so I could make my selection with confidence. Ive been a patient here for over 11 years, and im very disappointed to have to resort to this. I used to love this place and always had a very helpful doctor. Lately however, its seem like nothing but problems. The final straw was my recent visit. I had a follow up appointment which was good. The problem was with the optical department. After my appointment, I asked if I could have my glasses adjusted because they kept sliding down my nose. Without a word the woman took my glasses to the back and adjusted them. After getting them back and trying them on, they were now snug but I noticed a bit of a pinch on the bridge of my nose. Take off the glass to look and theres now a fairly large crack on my frames that sit on the bridge of my nose. I pointed out the crack and was told that it was "normal". When I tried to say it they were cra ked before hand I was told "it must have been there before" followed by "I only adjusted the legs". I genuinely could not handle the stress and left. Once I was sitting in my car I could see that the frames had been twisted, the lenses were no longer flat across. The bottom of the right lens was now sitting on my cheek and the top of the left lens was contacting my eyebrow, not something I immediately picked up on as I was focused on them not sliding down my face. Considering I had been up for 16 hours by this point, I figured I might be okay for a couple weeks until I saw my eye doctor again. All week I dealt with the pinching on my nose. After a couples days I found that they were cutting into my skin. Once I realized they were cutting my face, I was going ti call the office, explain whats happening, and hopefully get things taken care of. I didnt get the chance before they completely broke in half, in front of my orthodontic surgeon. If it wasnt for my prescription safety glasses, I would have been stranded at the doctor's office because I would not have been able to drive home. I proceeded to call the office and explain everything. There was a pause and girl came back and told me she spoke to the woman in optical and that she warned me about what would happen if they adjusted me glases. I told her that was not was happened, I wasnt told a thing. I asked what can be done about this and was asked if I could come in. Once I was there I was told to head over to the optical department to see what they could do. Same woman that cracked my glasses was going to help me chose a new pair. When I explained that I wasn't going to pay for their mistake, she said that there was nothing they could do and that I have great insurance. (Even if i used my insurance I would have to pay for new glasses). I explained again, that I was not going to pay for their mistake, and once again she tried to back pedal by saying that she told me about what would happen if they adjusted my glasses and that it was policy. Again I told her, you did not say anything when I came in and reiterated exactly what happened that day when I did come in. Spoke to the front desk again and requested to speak to my Doctor. He wasnt in, so I requested that they call me the next day. Next day has come and gone and still no call. I honestly cant believe how bad this office has gotten in the last couple years and that they wouldn't make right on there mistake to keep a patient. read more

Great staff, great prices, great environment. Nothing more to say but that everyone should come here for their eye exams.

Nice selection (good in Greenville, probably better in Cranston) and they offer good quality lenses. But ... be sure to call and speak to a human before you make the trip because the information on their website(s) (for "Vision Associates" and "The Eyewear Boutique") is not up to date, and the hours of operation for each location differ.. It is very hard to know when Cranston is open. read more

Store was a bit hard to find as they have multiple names "The eyewear Boutique", "Vision Associates". They have another branch near Cranston RI. This store has a wider variety and collection compared to the Cranston one. read more

The place to go for all your eye care needs. They are a great business and do whatever it takes to make you happy. Everyone is so nice I can't say enough about this place. My eyeglass prescription was screwed up. They gave me a free pair. So I will continue to buy my eye wear from this company. I give them an A+. Hard Selling and Very Rude Eyewear Associates ! Upon completion of my examination by Dr. Rowey I was led to the eyewear department. I informed Dr. Rowey that I only required a prescription at this time. He informed me that I "must" see his optometry department for a copy of my prescription and they will photocopy for me and, while I was waiting to "look around". I said again I was not interested and he replied I would get a good discount. Again, I said no. I was then told to sit in front of the fitting mirror with a wall full of new glasses while waiting my copy. After waiting over 20 minutes while listening to her discuss with another associates about a new purse someone had just purchased, I asked if she had forgotten me. She replied that her copy machine was "stuck". After several more minutes of waiting, I walked to the waiting area and I heard another voice yell out to me from a back room to the waiting room full of people. "WELL, YOUR JUST WAITING FOR YOUR EYES TO DILATE ARE YOU NOT"? And I yelled back," yes, and the sooner you place my file on the doctors door the sooner I can be on my way". I told Dr. Rowey and he ignored me, No response...nothing! I have been a patient since the early 70's and never received this type of treatment or attitude. They all were just plain rude and uncaring simply because I didn't want to purchase a pair of glasses. They just lost my entire family's business and those of my friends and neighbors I shall inform.
