From the first site visit to the final walkthrough, everything was seamless. William managed this project very well and guided us through this process with ease. At any point if we had questions he was quick to respond. The showroom they have is great and the experience of setting your preferences on design and materials is quite enjoyable. The only hiccup we encountered is that the supplier of the original tile that had been selected did not come in the size we needed and so it wouldn't have meshed well with the current tile in the living room. William helped us find a suitable alternative and we were able to pivot and are very pleased with the outcome. There were a couple of adjustments during the project but again related to the tile, we changed the direction of the placement which allows for us to replace the remaining tile in the house in the future if we decided to do so. William and team thinking ahead with our needs in mind really provided a sense of care. To top it all off, we wanted this build done ASAP and the team was able to complete the remodel in 8 days compared to their estimate of 10 - 14. However, when I was contacted by William, he informed me he had previously done renovations in my building and was very familiar with how the management office worked, water shut off, elevator reservations, etc. MY Construction's showroom had all materials/samples in one place where I could put everything together and get a visual idea; he also had tons of photos of examples on his phone to show me. Can't say enough amazing things about William and his crew, not only did he keep me updated daily, but he also handled so many of the nuance tasks on his own, making sure I wasn't distracted at work or taking on any unnecessary stress during the project. I uploaded a few before and after photos, of two of my walls but they worked on several more walls! My CMU block walls and drywall had about 50+ holes, a bunch of which were the size of my index finger, many areas of ripped drywall paper, and numerous outlet-sized drywall cutouts that I wanted patched as if they never existed. Mike came over himself, looked at the job, and gave me a price on the spot. A few weeks later he sent John over to do the work. I was on a pretty tight schedule with an upcoming move and Mike really worked around my schedule as best as he could! John was so kind and efficient, and he took care of every single hole and cut out in under 2 hours and got the walls paint ready for me (I painted the walls the following day). I was expecting the work to cost $1,500 plus easily but Mike's did it for under $600 and the quality is on point! I was really worried about the outlet sized cutouts I made for running wires, but John patched them like it was no big deal and that was such a relief! Excellent, excellent results! Working with Jon & Lupe was a breeze. Jon setup all of the…read morescheduling based on our availability & accessibility to the apartment. There were a few hurdles, but he worked out all of the kinks & came up with a time that was agreeable for all. Lupe did all of the actual repair & he did a wonderful job. Our problem stemmed from a toilet flooding in the apartment above our unit. Fortunately we were home at the time of the accident so we were able to use buckets to catch all of the water that dripped through the ceiling, medicine cabinet & exhaust fan. Due to insurance delays resulting from the owner of the apartment causing the damage, it literally took two months to finally get approval for testing, mitigation & repair work. Luckily we didn't encounter any mold issues but the ceiling above the shower stall had been so badly damaged that we had to have that replaced. The company that provided the mitigation services completed that aspect of the cleanup & was to also perform the repair but abandoned us after they had removed part of the ceiling, leaving a gaping hole. They ghosted us after I questioned why we paid for work that was never performed during the mitigation. After several attempts at contacting this company, we decided to find another company to complete the ceiling repair. A friend suggested we call Oahu Ace Handyman Services since they had used the outfit & was happy about the results. Their advertising indicated drywall work so we decided to give them a call. From the moment we contacted Jon, he was very responsive & professional. Since his company has started to build an excellent reputation locally, they've gotten very busy, so it took a few days to have Lupe come in, assess the situation & provide an estimate. We felt that their estimate was competitive and in our case, even better than the estimate provided by the mitigation company. Once we committed, it was really impressive how updates and information were routinely provided by either text or email. We've worked with other local companies that would schedule work with us but never hear from them until we initiated a followup call or email to confirm the appointment. On the days of the scheduled appointments, we would even receive texts informing us that Lupe was en route and the possible time of arrival. He was always punctual. Lupe's drywall work was superb! We couldn't even tell the transition. Both the texture and paint matched perfectly. He was so pleasant to work with as he has a bubbly personality. He was informative, friendly, accommodating & had a good sense of humor. He worked fast, efficiently and cleaned up after himself each day. He setup barriers to minimize the dust generated from settling onto our furniture and laid down thick brown paper along the path he walked to protect our new LVF. After the work was completed he vacuumed all the floors affected and thoroughly inspected the area to ensure that there was no paint splatter or inadvertent residual "mud". The actual work was completed in less than the time of the initial quote, so the labor portion of the bill was adjusted and reduced as such. How's that for honesty? After taking out the windows, we noticed the wall was slightly uneven, but after he finished putting in drywall, everything looked amazing. The wall was smooth and seamless. You would never know windows were there! Very happy with the work that was done! Finally a handyman that doesn't give you a vague schedule and actually shows up at a specific time versus having to wait all day for them to *hopefully* show up.
