This place is horrible. The staff is untrained and unprofessional. I would not recommend them at all

I love this location. The majority of the times that I've been there they are doing their best to make everyone happy with limited staff available. I have no problem waiting for quality service so my rating stands at 5 stars. Please do not hassle the people at this location that are doing their very best with what resources they have. That will not cause you to get your order filled any faster. You might as well enjoy your downtime and don't go there in a time crunch. Daughter went with my mother to get new glasses. Was told they don't take insurance anymore. So paid out of pocket. My mom went back with her glasses prescription and they said they do take our insurance, but can't do anything about THEIR error and if I want reimbursed I will have file directly with my insurance. I'm sorry. I have to now do your work for you because you made the mistake. Will not ever be going back here. They do show up on my insurance list that they take it. Assistance should've done their job and checked if was unsure. read more

I love their large range of stylish and affordable options. The staff were easy to work with, kind and informative. I didn't have insurance the covers eyeglasses but I was able to purchase bifocal (progressive) glasses AND prescription sunglasses for less than $500. The deal that they had at the store was better than what the Delta Dental/EyeMed discount program provided. read more

We often hear the cliche, "you get what you pay for". I now question all cliches because, Vision4Less has debunked this one. For under $40.00 you are capable of receiving two pairs of economically sound glasses and single plastic lenses. As a man who wears glasses over contacts, and who has a dog that apparently thinks that glasses are the greatest chew toy to exist on God's great green earth...I cannot express to you the joy that this place exists. The customer service is fair, it's nothing to rave about. No one really greets you. There was no "how are you" or "just checking in". When you make them talk to you, ha, they seem fine. It was also a fairly busy place so I won't hold too much accountability on any salesperson for that. After all, what are they going to do; tell me to leave? Again, that's TWO pairs of frames/lenses for under $50, same-day ready - I can handle a half smile and monotone "hello". Obviously, the frames aren't Gucci. The storefront appearance doesn't say "chic". The service doesn't scream, "BE OUR GUEST!" But decent frames, at a fair price, and ready within the same day? I'd recommend that to anyone. read more

Some of the better prices on eyeglasses can be found here. Plus, if you need your eyeglasses ASAP, it's hard to find another place that can do same-day glasses. In fact, it was impossible, and this was the only place we could find. For two pairs of eyeglasses with lenses, it ran under $100 - which is amazing when I've easily paid over $150 for a single pair at other eyeglasses places. Customer service was great, and the employees seemed pretty knowledgeable about their options. They didn't seem particularly up-and-up on eye health or eyeglass fashion (or what frames will best suit your face), but they are knowledgeable about what lens and frame options they offer. They're very friendly too - especially considering how very overworked it seems that they are. However, be prepared to wait - both to be helped and to actually get your eyeglasses. You should portion out at least 2 hours of your time to be inside this store to get your eyeglass order placed - another hour and a half for them to make the eyeglasses - and another half hour to pick up your eyeglasses. They are insanely busy all of the time, and they don't usually seem to have the employees to support the amount of customers they have. If you have standard eyeglasses, though, you can expect to have your eyeglasses same-day. While you wait for them to put together your eyeglasses, this store is located right in the middle of Ankeny shopping area, so you can easily walk to a Starbucks, a mall, a Target, a Best Buy, yogurt places, and more. They'll give you a call when your eyeglasses are done. I'm not sure if it's the cheap cost of the eyeglasses or whatnot, but within 4 months, both pairs of eyeglasses had one of the nose pieces come off from gentle, adult wear. I'll admit to being slightly annoyed about this, but I went in, told them the problem, and they fixed the eyepieces on both eyeglasses free-of-charge. It seems they definitely stand behind their eyeglasses! Moral of the story: Good company with good eyeglass options for those who are budget-conscious. However, their good pricing comes with an abundance of other people who want to take advantage of it, too, so expect to have to spend a lot more time here than you would with other eyeglass providers. Worst customer service. I walked in, two employees laughing and joking with each other. Several customers in the store. No hello, no getting, no acknowledgment at all. Stood there for five minutes with nothing. Like I was invisible and the wind blew the door open. Horrible, horrible place. read more

The optometrist at this Vision4Less was the most thorough I've ever seen. She answered my questions with an answer - not a brush off!! She was concerned and caring enough to recommend that I see my local doctor. I'm almost 2 hrs away, but think I'd return. Also the staff, Mary specifically, was very helpful - also concerned and caring, just plain nice folks!! My glasses cost more than I anticipated, but that was my fault for picking a pricey pair of glasses, which I dearly love! read more

Worst customer service ever. I have given this location two opportunities to earn my business. On neither visits did anyone ask, "How can I help you today?" I was hoping to take advantage of their quick turnaround time to get new glasses contacts and prescription sunglasses but ended up going to America's Best and spent well over $1,500 for 3 pairs of glasses for myself and 2 pairs for my wife. I wouldn't have been so frustrated were it not for the fact that there were hardly any customers in the store and the staff was busy chatting to themselves on the first my first visit and was completely ignored on my second visit. read more

I stopped in the store the other evening. When I first got there they were helping another customer so I wandered around the store. At no time did anyone greet me or say we would be with you shortly. The other customer left and there was still no effort to see if I wanted or needed help. At one point I got a "hello" when I made eye contact with them, but they went into the back room and when they came out never said anything. I was there for 20 minutes trying on lenses and no one offered to help. I was incredibly disappointed as I had shopped there before and had a very positive experience, which is why I returned. I ended up walking down to America's Best and bought new glasses there as they appeared to want my business. read more
