A friend and I went in for our sessions in the float rooms. I wasn't quite sure what to expect because I've never been into this type of spa. The receptionist was very helpful and explained the process before I went in. It took a few clicks on the control panel, but once it started it was very relaxing. The music began and I laid back to enjoy the experience. Each room has a shower, dressing area and the capsule to float in. Today was my first time floating at Capitol Floats in Auburn, and I was not disappointed! It was such an amazing experience from beginning to end. I did a 60min float session. The lady at the front desk was extremely nice and helpful. That facility was clean and inviting. And I was super excited to get started. She explained perfectly how everything worked and I went about my way. I rinsed off before going in and found the water was a little cooler than i thought it would be, but my body accumulated quickly. I then did some gentle stretching and movement for the first 20 minutes. Grabbed the head pillow and found myself in the best 40min nap of my entire life. I shut off the lights inside. I had an extremely disappointing and unprofessional experience at Capitol Floats. I had an infrared sauna and soak session scheduled for July 2nd at 2:30pm. I arrived early, at 2:20pm, gave the front desk worker my full name and my fiancé's full name (since he booked the appointment for me), only to be told I was late for a 2pm "fire and ice" session -- something that was never scheduled under either of our names. Then I was told the appointment was actually booked for July 3rd, which was also incorrect. It was scheduled for July 2nd at 2:30pm (I later confirmed this after getting home and checking my fiancé's confirmation email). Then after I explained that my fiancé had booked me the appointment. The, unbeknownst to me at the time, new employee on-site indiscreetly blamed my fiancé, suggesting he must have scheduled it incorrectly. She then made a completely unnecessary and unprovoked comment about "men" after I expressed some frustration with the situation I had been led to believe. I can only assume it was meant to imply that my fiancé wasn't capable of booking the appointment properly simply because he's a man. Which is just so beyond unprofessional, outright rude, and incredibly condescending especially considering my fiancé wasn't even the one at fault. I ended up leaving Capitol Floats, under the impression that my fiancé had messed up the appointment date, which turned out not to be the case at all. What was meant to be a kind gesture from my fiancé, turned into a disappointing and frustrating experience, all because someone didn't know how to properly manage and read the schedule. I understand the employee was new, but if you're unsure or confused, ask for help -- don't confidently turn a customer away and then place (or assume) blame on someone else, especially someone who was clearly trying to do something nice for me. And if a new hire isn't comfortable with the scheduling program, maybe they should be trained properly and long enough to be able to understand the system before running the front desk alone and confidently turning away paying, ON TIME customers. I ended up completely wasting gas, time, and energy only to be sent home with nothing but a headache and, later, frustration. After this I did reschedule for the following week. But frankly, after the way things were handled, I felt that I deserved a complimentary service after being wrongfully turned away, especially after arriving to the original appointment ON TIME. I, later that same day, gave them the choice to either comp the new rescheduled appointment or cancel it for a full refund. Originally, they resisted, only offering to keep the credits on my fiancé's account -- which is not a refund. They claimed this was "the best they could offer," which honestly felt ridiculous and like a slap in the face. I seriously would have been fine with even just a discount. Anything to show they cared about making the moment right. But this response made it very clear they didn't. On top of that, their own policy clearly states that cancellations made with more than 24 hours' notice are eligible for a full refund. We were giving them seven days notice. It wasn't until I directly referenced their own cancellation policy that the refund was reluctantly processed but even then, it felt like pulling teeth for a situation that was entirely their mistake. I was even asked over the phone if I had gone to the appointment just to cancel it, which was frustrating in itself because I wouldn't drive two hours round-trip just to cancel. I explained that no, I went to the appointment ON TIME to receive the service that was PROPERLY scheduled and was turned away through no fault of my own. I did receive an apology over the phone, but it was only for the confusion caused by the new hire. There was no direct acknowledgment of the inconvenience to me, nor of the inappropriate "men" comment, even after I made them aware of it over text. And no apology was directed toward my fiancé, who was wrongly blamed in this whole mess. I understand that mistakes happen, but throughout this entire process, it truly didn't feel like they wanted to make the situation right at all. This whole experience was extremely unprofessional and handled very poorly. I had genuinely good visits before this, so I'm deeply disappointed with how things were "handled". I will not be returning or giving them my business again due to them making me feel like my wasted time and money doesn't matter. read more

My honest opinion is that the float is an amazing experience! Being pregnant and having the weight taken from me finally it was what I needed, and I would like to do it again in the future if a few things are fixed. there are a few things that need to change for it to become what I think it should already be for a 5 my husband made an appointment for me because I am 8 1/2 months pregnant and needed some relief. I was shocked to find out That the tub is very shallow so I was not able to roll over and float on my stomach like I wanted (and as they advertise) as my stomach immediately hit the floor rolling over- so this also tells me it would not work very well for large people. I do understand that raising the water level would have to also significantly raise the Epsom salt levels, but if you are going to advertise that you can do this while pregnant and lay on your stomach make it be true for that individual. Not a staple one size fits all approach. I am a tiny person and it still didn't work. Also, When entering the water initially, it was what I would consider cold.. at best lukewarm -not the relaxing, warm or hot that I was anticipating. By the time that I got out, the water was pretty much freezing. Lastly, I found looking at huge stacked bags of salt, immediately walking into the establishment was a little offputting, as I felt like I was looking over things to trip on instead of walking into a clean, relaxing environment - those are the small things, but the biggest aspect was the float issue. First time floater here and all I can say is WOW. Capitol Floats is an experience from the moment you walk in. A beautiful spa like environment with little touches of the owner's whimsy. When I walked in to my float room it was clean and the accessories needed (ear plugs, robe, water, tissues) were neatly placed on the bench inside. Floating is surreal. I felt like I was falling (in the best way) in a magical galaxy. All senses are at peace and your body becomes relaxed in a way you've never imagined. Quick word of advice: do not apply any oils (especially peppermint!) to your face or body beforehand. Upon exiting my float room I felt so refreshed. I purchased a float package during the holidays of 2020. I was still not ready due to Covid and I am now (August 2021) moving out of state. I had 2 floats and 2 infrared saunas. I called and they allowed me to share with my BFF. We went together and since we shared our sauna, there was still one left. They allowed me to "gift" it to my BFF to use at her leisure. That never happens. I'm so thankful for that! Our float facilitator was Parvaneh and she was BEYOND AMAZING! From the moment we walked in, unsure and a little apprehensive she made us comfortable. Her in depth knowledge and explaining was so helpful. She was cool and professional and her attention to detail was exemplary. The float was really nice, it was also clean and a great place to chill and relax in between services. We p,aged with tarot cards, thumbed thru books, had some beverages fro the complimentary area. I was really looking forward to my float, and I was a bit disappointed that it was just okay. I liked how big and spacious the float tank was, and it was relaxing. But for the money spent on it, I don't know if it was worth it. I followed all the instructions, such as arriving as early as possible, and I felt that the staff wasn't very friendly and it was considered strange that I arrived early and wanted to use the float lounge. Today is my birthday and I pre-planned to escape and relax and found this gem in an Instagram newsfeed. I called and booked a 90 min. massage and a 60 min. float. When I arrived, I was greeted by Rebecca who was so warm and wonderful to talk to. Rebecca explained how the float tub worked and walked me through everything and what to expect. I am Closter phobic, but I was able to leave the door open to the tub and I could relax just fine. Greg was my massage therapist and he was fantastic! He paid attention to my needs, listened to me, and finally someone who knows how to massage the neck and traps! The vibe of the overall place was wonderful and peaceful. They are also very good with keeping the place clean. As a home cleaning specialist, I really appreciated that as I am able to spot uncleanliness from a mile away. What a gift to have a healing center of this quality in Auburn. I have had 3 deep therapeutic massages from Shannon Stone at this spa. Massage isn't really a way to explain the ability Shannon has of Listening to my body and going straight for the parts that are causing me debilitating pain. I have had 3 major shoulder surgeries/repairs and an extensive spine surgery. From overwork or injury I can become unable to function because of pain that is so deep, Norco doesn't come close to giving me relief. I have come into the spa feeling depleted from pain and weary of more injury being done. On the contrary. This establishment and Shannon are a gift To our community, if you don't give yourself the opportunity to allow his knowledge and expertise to assist your body in correcting its discomfort, you are missing an opportunity to heal. After a 90 min. Session, it was recommended to continue the healing process with a 60 min. Float. Allowing my body to be completely supported by the healing water without any pressure On my joints and muscles is near Nirvana. I do believe with Shannon's body work, the deep relaxation that comes with the float after the bodywork, I May just get To experience Homeostasis for the first time in my life. Today I experienced my very first float. Ever. It was AMAZING. Staff was super friendly and inviting. I loved being shown around the facility to familiarize myself with the space for my future visits (because there certainly will be more). The individual rooms were large and beautifully appointed (seriously I want those floors in my own home!). Everything that I needed to enjoy my float fully was provided and explained very well. I also really enjoyed the helpful hints for the novice floater. The 60min that I spent in that tub washed away the tension I was carrying from the last year. And for those that are fluffy or tall - have no fear, the tubs are LARGE and allow you to fully enjoy the deprivation of touch as much as light and sound (as desired). If I could give them a zero star rating I would. Scheduled float, sauna and massage for our anniversary. 2 days before our appointment capitol floats called to reschedule our appointment for the following week. My husband and I showed up on the rescheduled day just to be told we never got rescheduled :( we were disappointed because we were looking forward to this self care time since we have 3 little ones. Receptionist told us we should have received an email confirmation despite it being confirmed over the phone. Saddened by this mistake since we drove an hour to get there, but at least we got our refund of $400. Moral of the story, make sure you get an email confirmation when you schedule something here before going and don't take the receptionists word that your appointment has been scheduled over the phone. read more

My husband and I had an excellent experience here. We made a day of it and both had "trifecta" appointments, which included 30 minutes in the infrared sauna, 90 minute massage's, and 60 minute floats. Regrettably I did not catch the name of the women at the front desk. She was warm the moment we walked in and we were made to feel comfortable as she gave us a walk through of the facilities and our appointments for the day. The sauna was a perfect start ahead of our massages. Both massage therapists were amazing! My husband had Lena and I had Greg. We found them to be experienced and very in tune with what our bodies needed, in addition to listening to any concerns and requested focus areas. I had a major surgery 4 years ago and still experience chronic pain. Greg had some really good techniques and I could feel the tension releasing throughout the appointment. We would definitely see Lena and Greg again! The floats were a very relaxing way to end the day, plus the quiet lounge in the back. The facility was clean and inviting with nice amenities. I feel so fortunate that my first float experience was with Capitol Floats! The staff is so wonderful and friendly. The space is tranquil and beautifully done. My first time floating and will definitely be back. The facility is super clean and set up very nicely. My room had a large shower with soap, shampoo and conditioner, soft towels, a robe and a place to put my stuff. The actual tank was very large- enough room to float with my arms outstretched. Soft music and light can be off or on, door open or closed. The experience was extremely relaxing- i felt really safe and held in the water and just practiced letting go of my body, thoughts and any expectations i may have come in with. The hour long experience was such a gift to myself! Meditative, opening, surrender. From the beautiful orientation that Hailey gave to the after space with comfy seating and herbal tea, the entire experience was lovely. I will be back soon- trying the infared sauna as well. This is kind of like the "all in one" spa day for my husband and I. My mother-in-law got this for us as a gift and it took us almost 2 years to use it. Covid got in the way. Everyone there was super nice, and the place was pristine clean. They offered hot teas, filtered water, and a relaxing, waiting space. The sauna was just OK, kind of a small space, and we could only sit. No room to lay down at all. The float pod was very nice. After a while, I got cold, but she explained that it wasn't supposed to keep me warm, it was just a tempered water. It was only supposed to be the same degrees is it outside surface of my skin. I have to say that floating in that pod was the first time I was completely pain-free in years. The massage was also very nice, and the surprising hot stones at the end was just an extra treat. The only thing I wish was that my husband and I could've done all of these things together. We did the sauna together, but it would've been nice if we could've floated together and had our massages next to each other. After all, it was for our anniversary. Besides that, I would highly recommend this place. It was a real treat for my husband and I to have a day like that. It's so nice also that we don't have to leave town to have such a day. I've heard about and have been wanting to try floating for quite some time. This was a unique experience that I will try again and do very much recommend. The owner is helpful and kind. The space is well thought out and designed to calm the senses. One thing that strikes me most is the feeling of calm really does last. I did this on a Saturday afternoon. My mood that evening reminded me how I can feel after a really good massage. Now that it's the following morning, after a really good night's sleep, I'm still noticeably more calm. I've floated at several places and this is one of the nicest ones I've been to. I love the interior design and flow of the space. The float rooms are super spacious and the water was the right temperature. The post-float lounge is super comfy and they even have a patio for hanging outside post-float. It feels like a lot of love went into this place - all the little touches are there and everything seems high end. This place is amazing!! First, Hailey and Jaden are so kind, I've had great interactions with them both. Secondly, every time I've been there the place is so clean it puts you at ease right away. I floated twice while in my last month of pregnancy and it was incredible. Not only was it relaxing and I was finally relieved from lower back pain and other pregnancy aches, but I was able to connect with my baby on a whole new level. My baby girl rotated during my float, I could tell even she was relaxed! It was so special having that time to connect before the birth. Floating has helped my mental health so much especially during this crazy year. Just last week I finally went back in for a massage with Dan and it was amazing. Dan is truly gifted and intuitive when it comes to massage. He pinpointed the tension and worked with my body to release these areas from the stress. It was one of the best massages I've ever had! Wow! Just wow! What amazing service! So welcoming and inviting to something that is so new. They were beautifully understanding in my and my moms medical needs to not wear mask. In this weird time we are living, it's not so excepted. They made it work for us and didn't judge or question us. Such a wonderful and relaxing experience. It all comes off so weird and different than anything I have ever done. I am beyond impressed! My body felt weightless after our float. I goof and wrong the wrong time for our sauna but I'm sure it would have been just as amazing. We will be back for sure. What a great addition to Auburn. I totally recommend giving them a try. I've floated a few times in other centers, and this was by far my favorite experience. There's something about the combination of elements in the space that invites a deep presence and prepares one for the float. It feels airy and clean in every detail, and I immediately felt safe and comfortable there. The float itself was more relaxing and insightful than I could have imagined. I felt my body unwind and release tension in way very similar to receiving high quality craniosacral bodywork. As I relaxed into the most peaceful state of mind I have experienced in so long, I was finally quiet enough to hear my body's messages and re-realized the profound mind body connection. AnD they have the beat float tanks I've ever been in; unlike other tanks, I was able to comfortably stay in for my entire float without the air getting stuffy or hard to breath.
