Such a phenomenal VisionWorks. I got a pair of bifocal glasses here last year (2022) and it was a great experience. This year (2023) I went for another pair of glasses. I took in my Chanel glasses from 2010 to have the lenses replaced as I loved those frames. Unfortunately, because of their age, they cracked when the lab was placing the new lenses. I was allowed to choose whatever pair from the store I wanted at no matter the price and at no cost to me. I was shocked I didn't have to buy the frames myself. What a very nice and unexpected surprise! I picked out a lovely pair and picked them up approximately two weeks later. They weren't very comfortable once I got home and kept fogging up in my home with no temp chance to cause this. I took them back thinking I would exchange them for another pair, but I loved them so much and really wanted to keep them that I just had them adjust them and kept my fingers crossed hoping that would do the trick. Unfortunately, it did not. I went back again to exchange them for another pair and they were still just so kind. I felt like such a nuisance, but they never once gave me reason to feel that way. The manager, Sonia, is amazing, as his the sales associate, Wallesca, and one other girl who is a sales associate and I can't remember her for the life of me. Basically, all the employees there go way above and beyond and they do it all while smiling and with kind words! So I picked out another pair of glasses. I decided to upgrade the lenses to progressive and also upgrade them to transition lenses and I just paid the difference for the upgraded lenses out of pocket, but the manager Sonia still went above and beyond to check with my insurance and make sure I got all of my maximum benefits. When all was said and done, she managed to get me the upgraded lenses for $50 less than what she had originally quoted me... again, because she took the time to go back and check everything with the insurance (you don't get better customer service than that!). That was just one week ago, so I still have to go pick the glasses up next week. But I absolutely love this store because the employees truly make it a great and easy experience! They do get busy, so please remember to just have patience because they give all their customers such great service and sometimes great service takes a few minutes longer. :) read more

My 1st Visit here was on 1/22/25 Dr Nguyen & Her Technician was on point & Selection of eye glasses went well with Omar . I decided to check around to compare prices .With-in the same week I Decided to go ahead and get the glasses since I loved my selection & that's when the problem begun . I came back in on that Saturday & the demo wasn't available. Wallesca Supervisor attempted to locate the demo & couldn't so she decided to order the replacement of demo that hasn't arrived as of Feb 4th .I've called & went in Per Wallesca request & still haven't gotten the demo in . Per Sonia telling me to call Wallesca since she couldn't fine the demo neither REALLY ‼. So I decided Visionworks didn't need my business nor value my time . I went right on down to Stanton Optical And Andrew there assisted me with a better price & selection . So goodbye VisionWorks You've lost another valuable customer . read more

They eye doctor here is really good! The only problem is the eyeglass sales department as it has been a problem for years at this location. They finally got a better manager recently. The one prior had a terrible attitude every time. I gave the new manager a chance. But, the eyeglasses themselves turned out terrible from the factory. It's pretty sad. I have to take these glasses back to get them corrected. If it's not one thing, it's another. The one on Colonial is better. read more

I want to preface my review by stating that the doctors and technicians in this location are excellent. I have no issue with them or their performance and have faith that they are perfectly capable of providing accurate diagnosis and prescriptions. I used this location last august 2020 and was pleased with the service provided. In June of 2021, I started a new job and received new insurance. My prescription had expired and I was in need of new contact lenses. So I had made an appointment online and had specified the reason being a contact renewal exam. I input my new insurance information. Well two days later I received a phone call saying that my insurance plan shows as expired/invalid. I asked them if they used the new plan information that I had just provided. They explained that no, they were trying to use my previous insurance. Understandable mistake. I explained to them to please use the updated information that I had recently provided. They said they located the plan and my appointment was confirmed. Now, I know what my insurance plan offers in terms of visits, glasses, contacts, etc... Because I am allowed a free exam and credit up to a certain amount for lenses, I assumed there wouldn't be much OOP cost. Of course I asked if they could tell me if there was any fitting fee or costs owed so I could be prepared. They told me I would owe $150.00 FOR A LENSE FITTING FEE! I told them that I have never paid such a high amount ANYWHERE and unfortunately couldn't afford to do that. A fitting fee is generally between $20-$50. But I understand that this isn't the receptionists fault. I asked her to please just go ahead and cancel the appointment. She said it was removed from their calendar. I've since received a phone call asking if I would like to reschedule my missed appointment and that they haven't heard from me. Not sure how they run such a disorganized office. I clearly canceled my appointment- or at least I thought it was clear! Ultimately I would not use this visionworks or any other. I am astounded and disgusted by their ruthless price gouging. I ended up going to a family practice that charged $40 for a lense fitting. Not sure how VW came up with their pricing model but you'd think such a large chain could offer more competitive pricing. read more

I scheduled appointment for contact exam and was placed in sample contacts because what I normally use was not in stock... again, so I left with blurry vision and was told it was the best it will be and charged me for contact fitting. I left feeling like I wasted my time. Will not be back to this Visionworks. Waste of time and money and no resolution with my vision. Bad service. read more

This is a good place to get your glasses i have been coming here for years to get my glasses and they have great friendly staff who knows there stuff very well, also they are not over priced on there service and they are honest. If you don't have a prescription to get your glasses there is a Optometric Physician inside that can give you a prescription for your eyes in no time just make and appointment and the fee they charge is pretty cheap and most insurance accepted. There glasses are not over priced like most places and they have some great deals now like two pairs for $99 bucks. read more

The retail store is quite dirty. Front door does not appear to have been wiped down in ages. Store was not very busy and staff not very helpful. The independent doctor was wonderful. However, the retail/store experience was not on par with what it should be. It appears that VisionWorks is owned by VSP which may be why they can get away with poor retail/store experience since customers who have VSP benefits need to use at the store or VSP owned eyeconic online to get most from their insurance. Again, the independent doctor was wonderful. Retail/store experience not good. read more

Avoid the Altamonte Visionworks at all costs! There was a time that they were a decent place to go for a quick eye exam, but no more. The doctor side of the house is dirty, seating stained, and the staff so overworked and unorganized it is laughable. I have been going to this location for almost 17 years, but never again. It took me a few weeks just to schedule an appointment this year because I kept calling, they would put me on hold, forget about me, and I'd have to hang up. On my third try I finally sat on hold and waited 25 minutes, then had a co-worker call and remind them I was on hold. I finally got my appointment. Yay! Or not. I showed up for my appointment that Saturday and was told, "Oh, the doctor went home early." Oh gee, thanks for calling me! I scheduled for the following Saturday. Came in, signed in, was never greeted, and after 30 minutes past my appointment time I finally got someone's attention and they didn't even realize I was sitting right there waiting for my appointment. They over-charged me for the visit because they read my vision benefits incorrectly, so now they owe ME money. Fast forward to one week later -- my husband goes in to get a copy of his records. He had an exam just last year. They could not find him in the system and told him to leave and come back tomorrow after they researched this. He goes in today and it turns out they could not find his record because they were entering his first name as his last. First name is William. o.O What has happened to this place?!?!? read more

If I could, I would leave zero stars for this location. I will first state that I have not step foot in this location. But, have only spoke to them on the phone, which was enough to leave a 1 star rating. My first call was to schedule an appointment. No issue there making the appointment. A day before my appointment I received a vm stating they forgot to go over their covid policy. I called back later in the afternoon and listened to the employee state what their covid policy involves, which is for individuals to wear a mask and advising not to bringing anyone with you unless necessary. Upon hearing this last part I stated that I would need to reschedule the appointment, since my wife is working and I would have our 3 year old daughter with me. Instead of rescheduling, the employee said let me check and see if you can bring her. I said okay and waited while I thought I was being put on hold. At that time, I heard the employee say "who the f@#k brings a 3 year old to an eye appointment", then was hung up on. In disbelief, I called back and proceeded to tell the employee to cancel my appointment and don't bother rescheduling it, as I heard what she said. And then, I told her the next time you are going to bad mouth a customer you better make sure the phone is on mute. I ended the call by saying that I will never step foot in their location. No matter the state of things, this type of behavior by the employee is appalling, as there are people who may have to take their kids to an appointment. read more

I was promised by 3 staff members that my glasses and sunglasses would be ready before I went on vacation in 6 days. I reiterated that if I couldn't have them before I left, I didn't want to purchase the sunglasses now. When I called 6 days later, they weren't ready (the lenses hadn't even arrived yet) and I was told it normally takes 10 days for them to be ready. I should have read the fine print, but the staff was deceptive and pushy to get me to purchase glasses knowing my situation. I was unable to get prescription sunglasses before my road trip, which was a major inconvenience. Had I gone to another store, I could have had them. Fortunately, when I requested a full refund, the supervisor on staff apologized and processed the refund without any further pressure to purchase. read more

Cheryl W helped me so much, spending about an hour total, to pick out the perfect frames for my face. I was impressed with her knowledge and the fact that she could pluck frames from the displays just from looking at my face and I liked them! My glasses were ordered and I was told it could take up to 10 days (I have a very strong prescription). Four days later, I picked them up. They seamlessly worked with my insurance and I walked away with glasses I love at half the price of Walmart...with the same insurance plan. The customer service was outstanding! Several months ago I came here with my Mom and we purchased one pair of glasses each. She heard about some special where you buy one frame and get one half off or something like that. Her and a friend went in on that together and had a good experience. She knew I needed a new pair of glasses because I had just got new contacts and my prescription needed to be updated for my glasses. The eye doctor I go to on Park Avenue is amazing but the frames are super high end and very expensive so I decided to give this Vision Works in Altamonte a chance. My Mom just wanted to go glasses shopping again I guess. She got a different color frame this time to mix it up. I was good with one pair and so far so good. My glasses are solid and I have not had any problems. The staff members were very nice and knowledgeable, even with the one guy hitting on my Mom and his breath smelled. Other than that, it was a near perfect experience. The store is pretty big so they have a bunch of frames to choose from and the location is good being right near the Altamonte Mall. All in all, they are good at what they do and they provide a quality product with good service. I recommend Vision Works if you are in need of new glasses, especially if you are on a budget. read more

After going to Eyeglass World for several years, I decided to shop around for my next pair of glasses. Got my eye exam at VisionWorks and was ready to take my prescription and shop around for my glasses. I asked Omar to write down the measurements and he never tried to pressure me into buying my glasses there. He just started telling me very low-key about my vision insurance and all the options they would pay for since Visionworks is a preferred provider for Davis Vision/ FEP Blue Vision. I ended up with a very nice pair of LaCoste frames ($219 regular price) but got an extra $50 on top of my $150 frame allowance for buying my glasses from them. Bottom line, I paid $60 for an expensive frame with all the bells and whistles (polycarbonate lenses, anti glare and Transitions tint). I'm extra super pleased with Omar and this store. I even went back today and got the 2/$99 progressives on special. Give Omar a raise! read more

Worst customer service. I had to call and remind them several times to order my contacts after my eye exam. It took about 5 months to finally get them in and get my contact prescription. And when you call to seek help they sound so miserable and getting them to actually do their job is like pulling teeth. Will never return. read more

I called to schedule an eye exam for my 4 yr old; I spoke with a receptionist who put me on hold a couple of times to get answers from the Optometrist. I was told that my child had to be at least 5 yrs old and in school. I replied, 'Great! She will be 5 next week and starting kindergarten.' So, I asked if I could make an appointment. I was then told that she wouldn't be tall enough for the equipment and I should see a pediatrician. So which is it? Does she have to be 5 or meet a certain height requirement? I did not receive a straight answer by the way. My 4 yr old is actually the height of a 6 yr old and I'm sure reaching the equipment would not be an issue. But, that's neither here nor there. Lying to a potentially new customer, or any customer at all, is not good for business. One would think a physician, whom I'd presume has taken an oath of some kind, would operate by a high standard of integrity and honesty. Needless to say, I will be taking my business elsewhere. I just left and had an aweful experience on the sales side of the office. My exam went well with Dr Pham which was about the ONLY good part of my experience. I got ignored for the greater part of my eye glasses search to be approached by Liz. She then asked me if I needed to be helped. I asked for her to show me a selection of glasses that my insurance covers, to which she responded that she needed to run my insurance again. That was fine, and answered all of her questions. When it came to my birthday, I advised that my insurance has it listed as the incorrect month date, so she would have to run it as my insurance has it listed as for it to come up. She was confused as my office patient profile lists my correct birthday. She was massively confused on this concept for some reason and I had to repeat myself a good 2/3 times, as she kept repeating completely different dates altogether. I said my birth year is 1995. She said to me "it's 1921?" ‍ Are you JOKING. At this point she just had me write it out for her, which is crazy. And if you don't think it gets worse, it does. She initially gave me a price of $260 which does NOT add up. My frames Alone were $170, and covered by insurance. Surely polycarbonate lenses, insurance and glare resistant coatings can NOT equate to $260. I asked her to break down the charges to me, She kept rattling off costs, including some $60 "Frame fee". Well she recalculated and came out with $160. Which again is a far stretch in pricing. I asked her again, to print/write/break down the charges so that I can see what I was paying for. I told her at this point I feel like you don't know what you're doing or you're trying to rip me off! She went back to the counter and came back with $117! How the heck did it come from $260, to $117? Super sketchy place. Not to mention everyone there when it comes to getting taken care of is just completely rude. I do NOT suggest going here for anything other than an exam. Horrible service. I ended up taking my prescription and leaving after spending 3 hours there. STAY. AWAY. read more
