Really loved our time at Optical eyeland. We didn't stay long in the waiting room after checking in, which was amazing. The optometrist explained in detail what was going on with my daughter's eyes and broke it down in layman's terms, which I appreciated. The staff was all very nice and welcoming of my two kids, who I had to bring along to the exam. After the eye exam, we were quickly greeted by someone who helped us pick out glasses for my daughter. I wasn't too happy with the price of the frames -- they were a bit high -- and adding the necessary lens features would make the overall cost even higher. I do wish there were more lower-priced frame options available. Overall, it was a great visit to Optical Island. We'll be back for future exams and hope to see a wider range of pricing for frames. read more

Hey Yelpers, I went here again. Here's the latest. Ambiance: It is very clean in here. The glasses are neatly arranged and clearly labeled for ease of customer use. The eye exam room is to the left and the glasses to the right. Customer service: They have several staff available to assist any customer that should enter with questions. When I came this time, I wasn't greeted but I'll charge that to them being busy, I guess? I went here with someone to have their children's eyes checked. The physician was kind and was able to take care of the children and their parent on this visit. He was extremely communicative even asking if he knew me. When I began communicating with him he cut me off and started talking to the person I was with. Payment: The payment process seemed easy and did include a copay even with insurance. Maybe it depends on the insurance though. All in all, this visit was better than the last one. They are doing good! read more

Hometown heroes for the WIN! I was sold the first time I came in many years ago. I usually took my family to typical big box store eye departments for exams and glasses because I thought we'd get better prices. I was wrong. The thing about big box store experiences is there's the disconnect from pride in ownership. The feeling you so rarely get to experience in today's business world. To state it simply people who truly love and care about their customers. I have now brought 3 generations of family to their business because they truly care about you. I am so thankful for the owners and staff. They utilize cutting edge technology for all facets of their business. From eye exams to eye wear. I have had issues with my eye glasses due to eczema and they insured my satisfaction by finding me the right frames time and again. Even with my son having accidents with his frames and them taking time to get the frames replaced or taking the lenses and making them fit new frames. Or about them making special magnetic sun glasses to mount onto your glasses and my many calamity's with breakage. The thing is when you need help and customer service they do it the right way. They are compassionate and caring to ensure your leaving feeling important and making you feel right at home. This place is great if you don't have insurance. Self pay's cheaper than other places in Orlando. The staff was so friendly and took the time to help me understand what I wanted vs needed. They helped me by trying out different colors lenses for clip-ons. Clip-ons are otally worth the cost, because transitions do not work that well in the car, while driving. When my former optician retired, they recommended that I work with OPTICAL EYELAND in Apopka on ere 441 I was dubious at first but I have been overjoyed with the care that this third generation brother and sister team have provided. In one instance after giving me my new glasses, they were unsatisfied with the quality and ground new lenses. They have provided the highest quality of service and products now, on numerous occasion. Today was my first time visiting. I was pleasantly surprised. Dr. Anderson was very nice and thorough with my exam. Parking is plentiful and the plus for me was Saturday hours. Super clean and they sanitized the equipment right in front of me before using. I will definitely be making Optical Eyeland my first choice for my eye-care-needs going forward. read more

Dealing with Hailey is by far the greatest experience I have ever had. She is a wonderful asset to Optical Eyeland. She helped me with my toddler's glasses and glasses for myself. She has ALOT of patience and is honest about how the glasses looked. She recommended different frames and ordered them and we finally found a pair I liked. The turn around time is extremely fast for your glasses and lenses, and the customer service is beyond extraordinary. I will be making the 45 minute drive to Optical Eyeland for now on. read more

The doctor was prompt, thorough, and asked lots of questions, which was appreciated because my eyes have some issues. The frame selection was great and I spent about what I normally do for two pairs. I also appreciated that they offered to mail my insurance claim directly. I'm happy with the entire transaction. Plenty of parking, clean, neat and well laid out facility. read more

I arrived at my appointment on 5/11/21 to be treated so very poorly by the front desk clerk I have been coming to this location since I was a child when your father owned it my entire family is seen at this office I was treated like I was nothing humiliate to the fullest by Julie Pickney because of a miscommunication with payment that's so weird how can you tell me that due to a miscommunication on both ends that I don't matter that I have to find a new eyecare provider that im not welcomed there any longer there was no altercation, no arguments, no attitude, no nothing just a misunderstanding about payment Julie Pickney you have to treat people of color with respect an love the way you treated me today was very very nasty today you showed me that you don't have respect for your patients you have no integrity no loyalty! I pray no one else has this experience. I have been over looking alot but no anymore I want everyone to know how you humiliate me so no one has to experience what I have endured. read more
