I recently brought my daughter in for an eye exam, for which she was fully eligible under my vision insurance plan. The office had all of my insurance information on file, yet they incorrectly ran the visit under my husband's plan. My daughter is not covered under that plan, so the claim was denied, and I received a bill for the full amount. When I called to address this, the staff did not apologize or offer to correct the error by resubmitting the claim under the correct insurance (mine). Instead, they told me I would have to submit the claim myself or pay the full amount. read more

This place doesn't care about the customers whatsoever, I felt rushed and dismissed from the whatever they call the people that does the fitting, they definitely are not optometrist and struggle with knowing customer service, there are several other eyeglasses places in Lafayette and surrounding area so do a little research before you choose and don't settle for a three star rated place that I think three stars is very generous, they are only three out of five for a reason so don't say that I didn't tell you before you go and get disappointed and frustrated. read more

I have gone to the store in Lafayette, IN a few times with good results. The last time was not a good experience. When my contacts were sent to my house, they were not correct and I couldn't see out of the right lens. I took them back to the store and was told that my vision changed between the time of my appointment and when I received my contacts. It did not change, my glasses were fine as were the old lenses. Because I wrote an "R" on the box of lenses, they could not be returned, apparently. I had to pay again for the new lenses. I waited 6 weeks for them to arrive at my house. they never showed. I called Visionworks and they said "sorry, they were sent here instead of your house". No one called me to tell me lenses had been sitting in their store while I wore a temporary contact lens for almost two months. They dropped the ball on this one. I may not go back. read more

The doctor was extremely pleasant and helpful.He really took his time with my exam and I really appreciate that. Also the staff were very helpful and nice. They greeted me as soon as I came through the doors. Overall great experience. read more

I spoke with the manager and she said she would remake the glasses and that it would be about 2 weeks. Her business sense was good and the company seems as if they will honor their commitment to customers. I'll let you know when I pick up the lenses and try them on. read more

This Visionworks sucks. I have been here several times for eye related tasks and they have been rude or incompetent every time. The first time I went for an eye exam, the receptionist woman was so unbelievably rude to me I could not believe it. I hadn't filled out forms they emailed me beforehand because I planned to do it there, and she was rude to me about this. When I told her I hadn't brought a contacts case because I don't have any at home, she said "So you didn't do that either" in an incredibly rude tone. I don't think she works there anymore but I still couldn't believe the treatment. Recently, I ordered contacts from them to be shipped to my house. They were nice throughout that process but when I asked about getting any sample contacts while I wait for them to be delivered they said they couldn't help me and were very unhelpful. They said the contacts would take two weeks to arrive (key point: they were supposed to be shipped to my house) so once it had been three weeks, I called to ask what was going on. They said that their records showed that someone had already picked them up like two weeks ago. Obviously this made no sense as I wasn't planning on picking them up in the first place and I hadn't gone to pick them up. I'm not sure if their records were wrong or if someone stole them. Seeing as how they were supposed to be mailed to my house!!!!! When I went there a few days later to check on them, one of the people that was assisting me was rude and utterly unhelpful, telling me multiple times they couldn't do anything about the situation even though they were the ones that messed up. They ordered new contacts for me but said that "they were going to be out money now" which is insane to say as THEY were the ones who lost my contacts. I now have to wait two more weeks to hopefully hope they arrive and that I don't run out of my current contacts. One of the women was just so unhelpful and dismissive. You would think that they would make a bigger effort to assist their customer and help them out when THEY have messed up. I do not recommend this place as they don't seem to be competent and half the times I have been here I have left upset and frustrated. I can't believe they lost my contacts and then made it seem like it was my fault. read more

The worst place I've ever gone to get an eye exam done. I tried to call and see if my insurance would be covered, they told me that there's no way for them to do that over the phone (lies, I've had other places be able to do that over the phone), and to just suck it up and come in anyway. I reluctantly drove the 30 minutes to Visionworks to get my eyes checked, mind you this was a new patient visit. I handed over my insurance card and they couldn't find me in the system. The manager/supervisor on staff was horrible and said to me, "with cheap insurance it's difficult to find them in the system" looked at me and left for the day. The one who was attempting to help me tried to bribe me to pay the full price for an exam by saying, "your insurance will give you a rebate for what you spend" when that has never happened before. Basically, if you want to get ripped off and treated like garbage go here! read more

I love this Optometrist office! I specifically like the people. They seem to know what they are doing! They are great from start to finish!

I went yesterday to order my fourth pair of glasses! I love their selection and I had help choosing my newest pair. I would never have picked the frames that were recommended by Kiersten, but am very happy! She also picked out my other pair. I also would not have chosen the Aviator sunglasses, and am very glad I got them with the progressive lenses. They also moved my bifocal setting and now I can actually read my phone, computer, and inside my car with ease. I wasn't able to do this before when I got my glasses elsewhere. I'm sticking with Visionworks and hope you will also give them a try! read more

Worst place to go. The exam was good but the service after the exam was terrible. There system could not access my insurance, then they couldnt get thru to them by phone. I was told it was a system upgrade that caused the issue. Was told they would try on monday and get back to me, went back a week later and was told they couldnt get thru all week, then the story changed to CSR just forgot and only tried 2 times and never once was i contacted in any way even just to BS me. Very piss poor service, I will never go back read more

We walked in and were tools they would be with us shortly. One worker was with a customer and another was at another desk on the computer. This second person never looked up once or made any attempt to address us. We waited a few minutes and then since no one else was near the wall of glasses I started to walk toward it to look. I understand they don't know my understanding and respect for Covid, but I only made a few steps and she said "please stay behind the desk"... in a not-so-nice tone. Ok. I get it. I stepped back. A few minutes later she approached us and asked what we wanted today. We told her we had a prescription for glasses and wanted to make a purchase. She asked if we had an appointment. We didn't because when I checked online it seemed we could only make an appointment for an eye exam so I didn't make an appointment. She said she was the only salesperson there and that she could not help us today but that we could make an appointment. She was not very friendly in her message to us. We made an appointment but decided to go to LensCrafters at the mall to see if they could help us. While we may have ended up paying a lot more, the service at LensCrafters was SO much better it was totally worth it. Apparently LensCrafters does much more business because they had 4or 5 people taking customers. I gave 3 stars here because we did not actually do business with Vision Works so I didn't want to give jus 1 star! I've never had such a bad experience with an Optometrist's office like I have with the Visionworks- Lafayette- Sagamore Pkwy. First Day, walked in and receptionist was rude and would interrupt me when I was talking, but I gave her benefit of doubt since all businesses are trying to deal with COVID and all. The Dr. was great. She was very professional, so no issues there. However, when I called to try to order contact lenses through them, the same receptionist answered phone, and was so damn rude. She was going to have another person call me back to take my order. No callback from them. I ended up purchasing from a reputable 3rd party provider- they validated prescription, compared and placed the order. When received, the left contact lens was too small to fit around my iris. I validated the box (sealed), script to Dr.'s script, and all was same. When I called VW, with my luck, same damn receptionist answered. Long story short- rather than dealing with VW, I'm going to a NEW OPTOMETRIST, NEW EXAM, eating the cost- but getting excellent service. "Dr. Allison, please re-evaluate who you have running the front office. You were professional, knowledgeable and informative, however 'she' is a bad reflection of the office and I've decided to go for another exam, 1.5 mo. apart just to get better service. The lady as soon as we walked in was rude off top. The exam took forever, after picking out frames I stood waiting for 40 minutes until someone decided to help me. I do not recommend this horrible service to anyone. read more
