Visionworks is a trainwreck ran by incompetent clowns. This company first charged me for services that were already covered by my insurance, refusing to check my coverage when I tried to tell them it was covered. Then they made 2 different sets of glasses incorrectly (I purchased single vision distance and they made them with my reading rx. The second pair was also wrong because their in-house doctor messed up my rx. When I asked if they could redo the eye exam, they told me the eye doctor was "about to go to lunch, so no"). Finally they agreed to refund me but after I never saw the refund, I found that they had sent the refund to a credit card I used with them 2 years ago and is no longer an open acct (instead of sending the refund to the credit card I used to make this purchase, which would make sense). When I figured that out, I called the main store to request a refund, they told me the manager was not in, and they never called me back. Then I called corporate and someone later called me back from there to let me know they couldnt do anything to help. They said I'll have to contact the closed credit card company to ask them to mail me a check for the refund they sent there incorrectly. As if that wasnt bad enough, the agent gave me a 23 digit confirmation number and would only read it out to me over the phone (I was driving when they called), as she said she couldn't email it to me becasue she didnt have access to send emails. Literally the most painful and ridiculous situation I have ever experienced with a large company. read more

Update: after 15min on the phone they hung up on me! What can a girl do to get her contacts ordered? I'm a nurse who works 6am -6pm I don't have time to call them the days I'm working they are closed by the time I get off! It's my day off and the last thing I wanted to do with my time was wait on the phone for 15min and they hang up on you. Very disappointing. Wish I could go somewhere else but I already wasted my time with an eye exam there. read more

the three times I have gone have been terrible. The first time the Dr made us wait for 40 minutes before seeing us. The second time I had to reschedule because the Dr I saw the first time refused to use a digital system and wrote down my prescription on paper-which he took home with him. I've had a handful of visits and have bought numerous contact lenses and a pair of glasses from this location. I have worn contact lenses for 26 years and have used the same monthly brand for the last 11 years. So far I've had almost every pack I've opened crack along the border of the contact within DAYS of me using them. I've never seen this problem before, so I called the office 4 times and left 4 separate messages to speak to someone about this, and never received a single call back. I will never going back and I do not recommend this location to my worst enemy. Poor customer service and apparently poor storage of lenses they're selling to people. How can you let an active patient calling in to report a HUGE problem be ignored? Pathetic practices. read more

Saw optometrist on 2/28/23. checked out and paid for the services. They handed me the prescriptions. This is the third time I have used this business for eye care, glasses and contacts and went through the same check out process each time. I asked them to order the contacts for a 6 month supply. Never received a message that the contacts were in so after waiting a reasonable time I started calling to inquire about the contacts. Twice I was able to speak to a person but neither one could give me an answer, took my number and said they would call me back. No call back was ever received. On 5/30 I called again and after approximately 30 rings the call went to a customer service call center. She told me the contacts were "pending" but she couldn't see anything else In her computer. She tried calling the store and an employee, Brian, answered. He said the contacts were never ordered. He said if I gave him my credit card number he could order them. After my insurance paid $200 I would have to pay $112.00 for a 6 month supply. I declined. Went to Americas Best, they ordered my contacts and after my insurance paid, my part was $45 for the same 6 month supply. Worst customer service and pricing ever. My first negative review ever but felt this experience was so awful it might make people who read this think twice before going to this store. read more

Went in because I saw an ad for their BOGO event. Found out that clearance frames aren't really part of the package, especially with the strength I need. As it turned out, the deal became more positive in my favor. A $400 (final) bill was cut down to the middle of the 100 dollar road as the woman I worked with, punched some buttons to make sure insurance would kick in for this transaction. Other places quoted me a minimum working price of $300 and that was just for real basic "cheap" frames as well as the question of if they could get the thickness of the lenses in the frame. I would imagine all said and done, when transition and anti glare were tacked on, those places would have doubled the original estimated cost. (Did I mention my script is pretty high? I'm a couple pairs away from pure bred Coke bottles. But hey, least I can see with this new set). Needless to say I'll make sure to try my luck at Visionworks again for another pair in a year. The optometrist that did my exam was great. She listen to what I had and asked me questions and hit exactly what I needed as I later found out. I was here because of a bad experience Eye Centers of Florida. So after I have a prescription you go to the next room to pick out glasses. That is why am only giving the center three stars, the first three stars are for the doctor that evaluated me. She was wonderful. But they couldn't sell me any curved sunglasses with bifocals. I asked why and they said it was company policy. This store was limited on sunglasses and there were only two styles I liked. So I went to another competitor down the road . They had no problem making my glasses and they were done in the same day. But I will write that center on their own. read more

The exam was great and he was able to write your prescription if you want it to find glasses or contacts somewhere else. I guess my issue was when I was online I saw name brand glasses but when I got there and was looking at them they only had Nike and other I didn't recognize. I even asked could they be ordered and the lady said no this is all we have. read more

We did not have a good experience. They did not speak kindly to my children even though my children stayed in their seats and were silent waiting for an hour for someone to attend to us. They even asked my children to get out of their seat in case someone else wanted to sit there. Are you kidding me?!?! Meanwhile there were other children running around screaming, and grabbing the glasses to which they said nothing to. Other customers came and went, but we still had to wait. There was no rhyme or reason as to why other customers were able to be helped before us. There was no sign-in process to help the next customer. I was told that I just had to wait for an associate to come up to me and ask me if I was ready to be helped. I will not be returning. I felt discriminated against and I don't even know for what reason. My children and I where both mistreated and I have never felt so upset upon leaving a business establishment. I cried. read more

I LOVE the service at the Ft Myers Vision Works store! I just had an eye exam with Dr Phan and she is terrific. Then I picked out a pair of glasses There were so many beautiful designer frames I had 35 selected and couldn't make up my mind. Very quickly an optician worked with me offering expert advise. We narrowed it down to 2 and then 1. They were ready within a week, fit perfectly and I get compliments everyday I love them and would definitely go back! read more

The sales woman In the store helped me pick out glasses and sunglasses according to style. They were extremely helpful and nice. Gave me compliments on my glasses once I picked them up the next day. I wish we could put zero starts. first off, we were quoted $69 for contact eye exams and upon leaving were charged $129. The front girl looked like she hadnt washed her hair in weeks and didnt even look at us when we walked in or when we left. The optometrist "de la torre" i believe was extremely rude and unprofessional. He put dilating drops in (pretty much with his fingerNAILS) and then made us sit out there for about 45 minutes while he made personal phone calls we could hear. then he walked by and pointed to the room i suppose signaling it was time to get eyes checked, but hey guess what- dilated eyes cant see that gesture! Also, he went ahead and gave us glasses prescriptions when we had already paid $129 for contacts and we had to special request contact rx. also the front girl gave the wrong sample contacts and didnt even apologize. I work in healthcare and it took every piece of energy to not say something about how to treat patients not for customer service, but because you are providing a service for peoples health. Also, the optometrist looked like he had gotten beaten up recently, dark circles under his eyes and looked like blood was all over his face. This place is gross and so unprofessional read more
