No mirror, no chair, nothing, very odd! Just stand at the desk in the middle of everything in tge lobby. Then after a few back and forths the receptionist said look at tge arm it will most likely break! I can GUARANTEE I won't be back. I asked the woman who helping me purchase contacts if they had replacement nose pads, she said yes & said that she can put the new nose pad in. She took my sunglasses into the other room & while replacing the nose pad, slipped with the tool she was using, broke off part of the prong that holds the nose pad in & bent the wire part that connects the sunglasses to the nose pad holder. Since then, I've been back 2 times to have the wire part adjusted & told nothing can be done for the broken prong. Since the nose pad isn't held in securely, I asked if the sunglasses can be replaced. I was told no because they were not purchased there & the brand isn't in network. I said they weren't broken before that incident & she told me that they shouldn't have worked on them since they weren't purchased there. I get that but it's not my fault that the woman offered to change it out & broke them. Of course these are my prescription sunglasses, too. The doctors here are good but I am very unhappy with how this situation was handled. I don't think it's fair to punish the customer for the employee's mistake.

There is a large collection of glasses available. Today, I just needed my glasses fixed. I visited 3 other shops (Oakmont, Lens Crafters, and America's Best) the day before I cam back to Verona Eye Care. None of them could fix my glasses, and some even said my glasses were mangled and beyond fixable. They said there was a part missing at the top of my glasses. I was expecting the fixing process to take days, but the receptionist (receptionist! Not the doctor) fixed my glasses within a minute. She was very friendly and all around great. She even did this fix for free! I've had these glasses for years, they are sturdy, and I definitely trust Verona Eye Care to provide high quality glasses at reasonable prices and with great service. The optometrist is efficient. They are closed on Sundays unfortunately. My mother had an iffy experience here once where they recommended she go to Oakmont Eye Care instead (could have been the language barrier). But, this is definitely my go to optometrist. Quick, efficient, friendly, experienced, good with kids. I'll come back for glasses and a checkup anytime I need it.

The office is very small, which is fine but seriously limits space and selection of lenses. They…read morealso don't answer the phone during posted open business hours and their answering machine says they are closed which isn't the case. Lastly, I have eye insurance that doesn't cover much and the optometrist wrote for an expensive medication instead of telling me there is a much cheaper identical equivalent of the benign medication that I should have been prescribed instead to begin with. I had to research myself to find out that the medications have the same mechanism of action but one costs much less. More importantly they should tell their patients about medication options instead of living in fear. Despite me taking the medication for years without doctor or insurance issue, the optometrist was too scared she'd get in trouble if she wrote for the less expensive medication. So I unfortunately ended up finding out this optometrist is against continuity of care out of fear that prescribing the less expensive med (which treats the exact same thing) wouldn't be covered as medically necessary and get her in trouble. Lesson learned, seen an ophthalmologist. People are terrified to prescribe the most innocuous medications these days. It's infuriating to have to hunt for confident prescribers. This is unfortunately not uncommon to find prescribers too scared to do their jobs, but it's completely unfounded and puts more work and cost on the patient.

These glasses look as if an amateur tried to make glasses for the first time... I asked for the thinnest lenses knowing the high prescription would need high index lenses except the manager Antonio didn't send them to the right lab or order the thinnest which I specifically asked for the prescription of -7.00 and -7.50. My receipt shows that the order was entered as SV 1.67, which is high-index, but not the thinnest available option. For my prescription strength, 1.74 would generally be the thinner choice. Because of that, and because the glasses were also over a month late do not waste time or money buying lenses at this location of Pearl Vision on Freeport Road.
