I have had a great experience here numerous times over the years. They have a 100-day satisfaction guaranteed policy which is very important for progressive lenses because they can be troublesome to get right. I also really like the current optometrist. I had eye exam on 6/30/25. I need a copy of my prescription. I've now been trying to get some information in an online chat, but the stupid chatbot just keeps asking me which store I went to after that question was answered. So I tried to call the store but all I got was the same ridiculous chatbot. No answers no humans. This is pathetic. I will not be using Visionworks anymore. read more

Recently went to get my kids eye exam and get glasses if needed. My insurance gives us $175 to use towards glasses. This will come into play later. The Doctors here do a good job. However, you need to be on alert with the sales folks there. After the exam, I decided I wanted to get my kids some glasses with blue light blockers since they are on their computer and iPad a lot for homework and game. So they picked out some glasses nothing outrages overpriced. One picks up one frame for $129 and the other picked up one for $99. I figured insurance would cover all that for the frame. Total came out to just under $100 for the exam, prescription and frames. Didn't think anything about it until I went home and decided to check the invoice. The sales person apparently, rang up both frames for $199 each which left me to pay for the difference from the $175, which in turned made my out of pocket cost more expensive. Apparently, the sales staff get a commission on the glasses they sell. I wished I would have known that from the start. Watch out for this scam! This is the last time I'll be visiting VisionWorks. read more

I thoroughly enjoyed going there. The Dr. explained everything then when it was time to pick out a frame the sales lady explained how to pick out a frame to fit my face without pushing expensive frames then never once did they try to push any add-ons for the lens. My wife ordered two pair of glasses towards the end of March. After waiting over a month she called to find out what was happening. They said a call was on April 2nd and there was no answer. First of all we do have an answering machine. So they put the glasses back in the drawer and we never get a call or a card in the mail. We went in to pick them up the same day and the salesperson hands her the glasses. He looked at us like a deer in headlights when she said they were to big and need to be tightened. He tightened them but never bothered to clean the lenses. This location in Hoffman Estates has certainly gone downhill. Won't be going back. Albert G read more

I came here after having the eye exam from hell at the Schaumburg location and the difference between doctors and staff was mind blowing! For starters, this location honored that I had paid a different location for an exam and allowed me to come in for a second opinion. The entire staff was super polite, patient, and helpful with answering any of my questions (even in regards to difference between contact brands)! The doctor was also very kind and thorough with my eye exam. She genuinely paid attention to my eye health concerns and updated my contact prescription and recommended a new brand to help with my eyes feeling dried out. The physician is so wonderful she explains everything throughly and takes the time to answer questions and make you feel very comfortable and not rushed. The staff was amazing from the time I walked into the store to helping me with choosing glasses to getting the best for my money! She is extremely knowledgeable about eyewear products. She explained our insurance benefits in full detail in "easy to understand" manner. Updated review: I recently visited this location for an adjustment to my eye glasses. Upon entering I related to the cashier that I simply needed an adjustment to which she referred me to her co worker who was already with a customer, co worker asked me "what do I need" and said she'll be with me once she's done with her customer to which I was fine with that. Approximately ten minutes go by and she is now having a casual conversation with this customer not related to eyeglass or anything to do with visionworks for that matter. So I then casually walk out. I'm not upset that she was with another customer or that she was having a casual conversation with him. But simply because I was not once acknowledged that she was going to assist or simply have someone else come to assist me ( two other employees had walked onto the sales floor while I was just waiting). Sadly I will no longer attempt to do business here nor will I refer any co workers to this location specifically. read more

My opinion the glasses were overpriced. Name brand yes but not high name brands as other's would carry. The customer service given seemed to lack. Slow moving and not up beat as a sales/consultant should be. Perhaps it was bad timing such as the evening. The Optometrist was very nice and helpful. I will not be purchasing from there. Too expensive, you pay for an eye exam, sure buy one get one free, not much of selection they make you pick on their clearance old ones. I don't think I will go back here or any Visionworks. Go to Americas Best, free eye exam, the prescription I got, half price there and it's buy one get one free better selections. read more

We have been bringing our business to this store for years. Very disappointed with our service. Is it possible to give 0 stars? "Glasses the same day?" We have been waiting for almost a month for my husband's glasses. We went there because his glasses broke and were promised them in five days. Called after 5 days, "the lenses were on back order. They should arrive in 5 days." Called again 7 days later and "the lenses were back ordered. They should arrive in 5 days." Called back today (just 3 days shy of a month after we ordered them). "The lenses broke so we need to order new ones. They should arrive in 5 days." AT NO POINT DID ANYONE FROM THE STORE GIVE US A CALL TO LET US KNOW. Meanwhile, my husband still has no glasses. We will no longer be using Visionworks. Every time we have called, we were given the run around. read more

I had a bad experience with the vision works in Schaumburg. I have really bad eyesight..and due to my busy schedule...I had gotten behind on ordering my new pair and I still hadn't gotten my glasses. One of my contacts basically gave out and was extremely blurry..I could hardly see. It was an emergency. When I called the original location in Schaumburg that I had gone to for my eye exam, the manager was not willing to accommodate me. I was even willing to pay for another exam just to get some trials for that day while i wait for the delivery of my new contacts. Thats when I called the Hoffman Estates location...from the girl that answered my call to another gentleman that helped me find the location in the plaza...to the amazing doctor that gave me great advice on how to take care of my contacts and even chose the right color of contacts that would look good on me..i was extremely happy. When customer service seems to be a thing of the past....these people proved that there really are people that care about their customers. read more
