I went in and had an evaluation done and they told me I was a good candidate to have lasik done, after the exit meeting with Nina who told me that if I scheduled my surgery even a couple of days past the treated quoted day they would honor a $300.00 discount for the procedure. So I scheduled it right then and there but I was not available to get it done on 3/31 I needed to wait until 4/2. So a week before my surgery I called just to confirm that the $300.00 discount was still going to be honored and the man told me no way. Do you know what's crazy? I never thought I'd be back to wearing glasses and contacts after getting LASIK surgery at LasikPlus. Less than three years after my procedure, here I am, squinting at everything and feeling completely let down. During my follow-up appointment, the doctor insisted (numerous times INSISTED) my vision was 20/20, making me feel like I was imagining things when I knew I wasn't seeing clearly. making me feel like I was crazy. Fast forward a few years, and I finally went to a different eye doctor. Surprise, surprise--I don't have 20/20 vision at all! I need glasses again! The whole point of getting LASIK was to save money in the long run. I calculated that I'd spend around $500 a year on exams and contacts, plus even more money for glasses. With the surgery costing about $3,500, I thought I'd break even in seven years and then be free from eye care costs. Instead, I feel like I've thrown money down the drain. Now, I've essentially lost that $3,500 investment. My left eye is a -2.5, my right is a -2, and I have nearsightedness of +1.75. If you're hesitant about LASIK, trust your instincts. I went back and forth on the decision so many times, but the promise of saving money pushed me to go through with it. Now, I regret it every single day. I had an appointment on a Saturday at 8:15. I got there at 8:31 and they would not help me. They said I needed to reschedule also on the day that I arrived it was a snowstorm and I traveled all the way from Morton Grove to get there unfortunately, no one was helpful and said the only thing I could do is come on a different day. I find it hard to believe that with the management and the people that are working there nothing could be done. I know how business is and you can definitely assist someone For being 15 minutes late I don't appreciate the rudeness in the office. Also, not to mention nobody called me to tell me to not to bother to come in as I was driving on the highway and a 30 minute drive to get there in a snowstorm. read more

You know the stereotype about the pushy car salesperson? That's what the experience at Lasikplus is like when you go in for the consultation. Every single person will urge you to get your operation the exact same day, if not within days of receiving your consult. What kind of person would get an operation on the same exact day as a consult? Anybody with half a brain will want to compare options, think about it, arrange for a driver, etc. Every employee very clearly receives a nice commission for each sign-up. I could not say enough about how awesome LasikPlus is. Dr. Horn and all the staff here are unbelievable in the best way possible. I have a lot to say so bare with me. I originally tried to go to 'Chicago Cornea Consultants' because that is where my eye doctor tried to send me. When I went to my consultation I was very grossed out by their facility and found out the only reason my eye doctor sent me there was because he had a deal with them and received money for each person he sent there. I called my insurance company after the consultation (which I should have done at the beginning of this process) and found out I could get a discount through them if I went to LasikPlus. My insurance company (Blue Cross Blue Shield - HMO) made my free consultation appointment with LasikPlus on my behalf which made me feel safe and secure. Right when I walked into the LasikPlus facility in Schaumburg, I felt so welcome and at ease. Getting lasik is a nerve-racking experience and the staff at LasikPlus is next level. Everyone I talked to was kind and open to answering any questions I had (trust me, I had a lot). During my consultation they determined I was a perfect candidate. Not sure if this made a difference, but at the beginning of this process I did not wear my contacts for almost 3 weeks before my consultation and never again after that (I ran out of contacts but this was a suggestion from my eye doctor). After determining I was a good candidate, they told me if I scheduled my surgery ASAP I would get an additional discount due to scheduling early. I said HELL YES, and had my surgery the next week. The day of the surgery was pretty crazy. There was a snow storm (I got it done on January 23rd). Something crazy happened and a man who got lasik earlier that day broke the machine. This meant that no one could get their surgery on that machine for the day. Everyone who was scheduled for surgery that day in Schaumburg were sent to the Oak Brook location since that location luckily had no appointments for the day. I still had the awesome Dr. Horn do the surgery. Even with all the chaos, LasikPlus handled it flawlessly and I was home faster than I expected. They also gave a discount due to everything that happened with the change in location. My actual surgery lasted all of 10 minutes, which was wild. My brother drove me home and I fell asleep immediately. I would suggest getting your prescriptions BEFORE the surgery because we stopped at the pharmacy on the way home and it delayed me getting to sleep as soon as possible. I would recommend LasikPlus to anyone looking to get lasik. I am so happy with this investment and kind of can't shut up about it. I went to my 1-day follow up appointment THE NEXT MORNING with 20/15 vision. Unbelievable, perfect vision. FYI - I would 100% recommend anyone who deals with allergies to get the surgery done in the winter so you don't have to deal with your eyes itching while you are going through the healing process. ****IMPORTANT**** I did not drink enough water or eat enough the day I got lasik. I got dehydrated and after I took my "after surgery nap", I fainted in the bathroom putting my eyedrops in. This had NOTHING to do with LasikPlus and everything with me being on a stupid diet lol. Don't waste your time, I went there for me initial consultation which was scheduled for 8:15am, I did the preregistration at home, filled up all the paperwork, I showed up for the appointment at 8:00am, they told me to sit and wait in the waiting area, I was the only one there, other people came after me and they started taking them in one by one, but no one even approached me, by 8:30am I went to ask the girl at the register how much longer is going to take, she said that she doesn't know because they are very busy. Well I don't care how busy you are, my initial appointment was for 8:15am, I showed up 15 min early to have enough time, so I can leave for work by 9:00. This is unacceptable behavior towards a customer, especially a new one who you are trying to get!!!! read more

Got PRK done and had a wonderful experience. They said I was going to Dr. King Aymond but I got Dr. Horn instead. Despite that, I still had a comfortable experience. The procedure was quick and relatively painless. Staff was very friendly and helpful when it came to financing, making appointments, and discussing post-op procedures. They also have a great coffee machine that serves hot chocolate and tea. Comfy seating all around and very clean! I couldn't SEE myself going anywhere else. Happy to be going into 2020 with 20/20.. They explained the quote was wrong and they apologized that someone screwed up but I'd need to pay twice the price. I'm not sure how you can trust a doctor that pulls this kind of bait and switch. I want to share my awful experience with LasikPlus. I went in for my appointnment at 10:45am on 12/30/2021. At 12:45pm, Dr. Pamela Marzec tells me that "Your appointment will be postponed until 3pm....because of the size". I am not an extremely big guy, I've known people that has lasik bigger than me. How can I trust someone with my eyes that discriminated against me because of my size. Around 3:35pm more people are coming in for surgery and I still have been seen. I got fed up and requested a full refund. I have never heard nor read anywhere where the size of a person determined surgery for Lasik. To be transparent, my recovery of LASIK wasn't as flawless as most people. My vision fluctuated from 20/20, to 20/40, and then I had some astigmatism. This is not abnormal, and is mentioned as a possibility as you sign/initiate the forms/waivers. LasikPlus was very accommodating and continued to monitor and evaluate me during the process and recommended an enhancement. Fast forward ~4-months later, I had my enhancement yesterday. I was told the second time around would be "easier" as they didn't need to recreate the flap, but should be able to just relift the existing flap and it was a matter of a few zip-zaps and I'd be done. Well, the first time I had my LASIK procedure done, I ended up taking 3 valiums, after taking the initial 2 wasn't cutting it. This time around they again initially gave me 2. I told the lady at the front that usually I need 3, but she just waved it off and said I should be fine. Well, I wish I took 3, 'cuz 2 definitely wasn't enough for this guy. During the procedure, I was aware of everything, including them using some utensil to slowly lift up that flap, which to me, seemed like it took several tries. I couldn't really see the tool, since it was up-close, but it reminded me of the utensil that dentist uses to give you a teeth cleaning. All the while, your vision shifts a little and then becomes slightly blurring. Think of taking out your contact, but in extremely slow motion ha. Overall, I timed it, and from them taking me in, to me being done, it took about 12 minutes. I felt like the first time was slightly quicker, even with the additional flap creation, but I think it came out to be the same because Dr. Aymond was super careful and patient with identifying/locating the flap, which I really appreciate. No sense in rushing it! Just got from my follow-up and so far I'm at 20/15! Happy with the results, sorry for the extremely squeamishly detailed review, but there ya have it. I'm giving this place 5-stars still because they were very accommodating and worked with me to get to the perfect vision I was hoping for. The staff is super friendly; Susie, the receptionist, has no idea but she's my new CHI-town friend lol. They started the appointment right on time, beginning with the paperwork. Went in for my free consultation. Everything there was just fine the doctor even said my eyes aren't bad at all and it would be a simple procedure. I got my quote and WOW they want $3,714 for eyes that "aren't bad". I looked at the quick and they even want to charge $45 for FREE eye drops. It says on the quote " blink preservative free". These guys are out of their minds. My wife did her lasik with PRK 5 years ago and kid $2,000. I will be going elsewhere. Oh I also love how they try to push you to set up the surgery appointment. Sorry guys, yes the place is nice and everyone is friendly but the prices are crazy. So much for as low as $250 per eye. Pretty disappointed on how I was treated and the obvious concerns that popped up during my appointment. I go for my consultation, and I sit down and wait.... And wait.... And wait. While sitting there 2 others with appointments ask how much longer and talk of leaving. I then get called and go to do my initial eye exam, the technician then needs to go ask the doctor a question and she returns 20 minutes later. I am a total of 50 minutes at this point and nothing but a routine eye exam has been done. She then says it is treatment day and there were several j expected walking and the doctor may be another 45 minutes. Sorry all, but I'm not looking to have my eyes worked on by an office that is rushing around from patient to patient. And that doesn't even have you've consideration to not overbook appointments and treat customers like that. The technician was nice and apologetic, not her fault. Had my surgery in July. It is now November. I've had to seek treatment for pain and discomfort several times since then. My eyesight goes in and out. They had me go to an actual eye doctor when they couldn't figure out what was happening. They don't return calls even when it concerns medical issues pertaining to the procedure they did. They got me approved for surgery, took my money, and performed lasik in less than 24 hours, but have done nothing to eliminate the problems that came after surgery for the last 5 months. My sister and I made a pact to get Lasik together and after shopping around (and even booking at a different place at first) we decided to go with LasikPlus. Now that all is said and done we are very glad that we did! The consultation, which we actually had done at the Oak Brook office, took a very long time but we were glad that it was thorough and we could feel assured we were good candidates. The technician who took us through the gauntlet of tests was also very friendly and helped to make it a better experience for us. We ultimately had the procedure done at the Schaumburg office since the location was more convenient. The staff at this office is equally friendly and attentive and Dr. Aymond was a great surgeon. The procedure itself is very fast, not painful, but somewhat freaky - not going to lie! Also, be prepared for your eyes to look gross for at least a week or two, both due to being bloodshot and also because the drops you take will cause crusty eyelashes. That's the part they don't tell you, so I figured I'd share. :) Another honest truth: my prescription wasn't too bad to begin with (-1.75) so I had a harder time adjusting than my sister, whose vision was much worse before. The quality of my vision gradually improved over time, and now that I am at 3 month mark it is really good! Just don't let the rumors of a "20 minute miracle" give you unrealistic expectations. The prices here are reasonable for the industry, but hardly the cheapest. That being said, any time I had a moment of uncertainty, I felt comforted by the fact that I did not cheap out on this procedure. These are your eyes, after all. The office will also see you any time after the procedure if you have any concerns, so that is further peace of mind. Good luck on taking the Lasik plunge. I cannot stress enough how fantastic my experience with LasikPlus Vision Center was from the initial consulting to the actual lasik eye surgery itself was. I've always had interest in getting lasik eye surgery for many years since I've had poor vision since I can last remember. I've had glasses since elementary school and contacts since middle school. My prescription was -5.75 for both eyes before I got my eye surgery. Few of my friends had lasik eye surgery before and all of them said it was the best decision they ever made in their life. The surgery itself was only 5 minutes at the most! Dr. Aymond was the surgeon and he made sure to keep me calm through the entire process. He talked through the entire process and time flew by fast. I want to share my awful experience with LasikPlus. I went in for a free consultation and they said I was a good candidate for Lasik. Everything was great at that point. The following week I had my procedure with Dr. Aymond. He started with my right eye and it was so painful that I knew something was wrong. He tried to put the suction ring on my eye for three times and wasn't successful. Then he pulled me up and said I had to do PRK. My right eye was all swollen and bleeding coming out of the room. I had to take off for a week for my vision to recover. If Dr. Aymond is very experienced like what they claimed, why would he not be able to even put the suction ring in? I'm not doing PRK (with longer recovery time) just because he can't put the suction ring while I'm a good candidate for Lasik. I'm just glad that my vision is able to recovered from this awful experience. I'm sure there are many other people who have good experience with this place. But I want to warn you that things can happen and Dr. Aymond is not as good as it looks like on Yelp. After all it's your eyes and you want to be careful what you decide. read more

I went into this location for a consultation. I was told it would be $4,000 total after my exam. I have a unique prescription where one of my eyes are weak and one is strong. It is a huge difference between my eyes. After I was quoted the $4,000 I asked if I could just get one eye done (the really weak eye) he said they normally don't do that, but it should be fine. He then said - the right eye wouldn't have made a difference anyway? So then was told the cost went down to $2,000?! They were pushy to have me make an appointment (like within days) I didn't feel comfortable here at all. I felt the cost was made up and I just wanted to leave. Of course, it's scary to have your eyes messed with, but the happy pills make it all worth it. As a mom, the last 24hrs allowed me to sleep more than I have in 4 years. Bonus!! First off, even though suitable for Lasik, I opted to had PRK done, because of my personal research. That said, everyone was supportive of my decision. The price was quoted at $3800 (roughly) and i have to say it was money well spent. It's now a little over 3 months since the surgery. I had astigmatism, was farsighted and my left eye was far worse than the right (I don't even know my numbers from back then, but I think it was something like 20/100 left and 20/60 right or similar). Now my left eye is at 20/25 and left eye at 20/20-20/15 which results in a combined vision of 20/20. I have to admit, i was very, very skeptical if, with my bad eyes, they would be able to do much. But even though realistic in all off their statements, they assured me that they wouldn't take me on as a patient if they wouldn't think they can meet my expectations. And that they have, BIG TIME! I always felt very well cared for. With PRK being different than Lasik and functionality in terms of vision takes longer to recover, I needed a couple of extra appointments and doctor's notes for work until, after 2 weeks, I felt comfortable enough to drive. Whenever I had issues or questions I got answers and if needed timely appointments. Dr. Webber took over most of my after care and I couldn't be happier with him. He always made sure to give me a realistic opinion and never promised anything. Even though PRK is a more painful procedure, I would do it over again, but only here! read more

I don't really write reviews but I felt I should for this. Especially since I was very nervous regarding my procedure. I've wanted to get lasik for a long time but was always nervous about it. I've worn glasses and contacts since I was 9 years old so I have forgotten what it felt like waking up being able to see clearly. The staff and doctors at LasikPlus in schaumburg were amazing! They were so informative and inviting. I felt so comfortable with them. I was very nervous day of the surgery but Dr Aymond was amazing. Went in for lasik on Friday night and could see perfect Saturday. What a difference. Staff is great all around. They make you feel comfortable and don't create a stuffy atmosphere.
