I have to use up my FSA by March otherwise I will lose it, so since I needed an eye exam, I decided to come to this location because of the great reviews. Customer service is top notch! Staff is very friendly and welcoming. Dr. Sblendorio is awesome! Real nice and very thorough with the exam. They have a sale going on now and Cecilia mentioned that she can help me choose frames. I was given a tray to place them in, which I didn't think I needed because I was only going to buy 1. But as I was browsing, I really liked 4 frames and put them in the tray. That is when I asked for Cecilia's help and she gave her honest opinions. When all was said and done, I bought 2. She's great and so is the rest of the staff! I don't even know where to begin with how disappointing this experience was. I called Visionworks in Homewood ahead of my visit and was given a specific price over the phone. I planned my trip around that information, drove out there, and was then told a completely different price in store. When I brought up what I was quoted on the phone, instead of owning the mistake or even offering an apology, the staff tried to turn it around and blame ME for the misunderstanding. Absolutely unacceptable. Nobody took responsibility. Nobody apologized. Nobody made any effort to make it right. I waited, wasted my time, and left with nothing , no glasses, no solution, and no respect. The staff was unprofessional from start to finish, and the attitude I received when I questioned the price difference was beyond rude. I was treated like I was the problem for simply holding them accountable for what their own employee told me over the phone. This location clearly has a communication problem between what they tell customers on the phone and what actually happens in store. And when they get caught in that inconsistency, they'd rather point the finger at the customer than fix it. I ended up taking my business elsewhere and will never return to this location. On website this clinic states if you are having a need of seeing a doctor as soon as possible you can walk in or make an appointment to be seen immediately! Was seen the same day but after waiting for over 30 minutes I was told the doctor on duty could sze patients who needed a prescription for glasses. When I made the appointed I stated I had a " red eye" and told the staff that when I signed in. Sat there for over 30 minutes and was told the doctor was not able to handle the complaint I had. I would just go VisionWorks in Tinley Park! This sucks for me because I live in Flossmoor so it's close but just stopped trying with this branch. I Ended up going to Americas Best in Homewood after my experience here. The older lady at the front can come across as nice but very impatient and unorganized. From what I heard they moved her from Tinley due to her poor customer service. I understand being understaffed but I was told to wait a hour just to book an appointment then was told that my appointment needed to be rescheduled after waiting an additional week for the appointment. I only needed to purchase contacts which they were offering at $60 cheaper than Americas best but to just expedite getting them I just payed the extra at Americas best who has been doing a great job for me for over 10 years or the Orland Park Location ! read more

I really didn't feel like leaving a review but I kinda just had to they didn't answer the phone when I called but I can also understand that it's only 2-3 people working & it can get busy. But they're friendly & helpful. The optometrist is a little ol lady and she's the nicest person in the world. Seriously. Ended up adding the extra service and paid less than expected. The Assistant Manager there is terribly rude, lied about services, refused to give me her name after giving misleading information. She even threatened to shred my prescription. Waited in line forever while the crazy eyed lady behind the counter waited on people, then skipped over me to take customers behind me and then Answering phone calls at other desks. Grabbed my paperwork and left. Went to the Vision Works in Tinley Park for a 100% turnaround. They even apologized stating that crazy eyed lady was transferred out of Tinley Park for poor customer service. read more

The eye exam was fine. I'm giving a low star rating because I have been ordering contacts from 1800contacts for 10 or more years and love the prices and service they provide. Vision works would not take their calls 7 times 1800contacts tried to verify my prescription. They would put them on hold and disconnect. Basically I don't want to order contacts from Visionworks and they were not allowing me to order anywhere else. I also did not like their glasses and took my prescription to Warby Parker who had better prices and much better customer service. I truly enjoyed my eye exam; the doctor was pleasant, quick, and very thorough. The prescription was just right, however, I didn't get to pick up my frames until two weeks AFTER they arrived back in the store because no one called to tell me they've arrived; and when I attempted to call for four days straight, I either couldn't get past the automated AI agent or no one would answer the phone. When I finally decided to just pop up there to inquire about the status of my order, I was told they had been there for weeks. No other explanation was given NOR was I even given the opportunity to try them on, ask for adjustments if needed, see if the new prescription was a good fit, etc. nothing. I was just handed the frames and left to leave the showroom. Loved the optometrist, the frames, and the script but I won't be back. read more

I hate is the purpose of having a phone and you don't answer it? I called 10 times back to back then had to wait 15mins to get routed to customer service. I walk into a nearly empty store with TWO workers so I'm sure my call could have been answered and my time wouldn't have been wasted driving all the way to an appointment that I knew I would be late for due to work (calling for 2 hours straight before I would have been late) but couldn't confirm if being late was okay or if I needed to reschedule. They rescheduled my appointment and told me they did accept my insurance but then when I went for my rescheduled appointment they said they don't accept my insurance and that NO other Visionworks accepts it! Great staff. Efficient operations. Wide selection of frames. I stopped in to order glasses for my son, and was able to be seen myself for an exam thus saving me a trip back on another day. I was skeptical doing so since I had my 8-month-old twins with me because other places where I've gone for an exam have taken longer. The optometrist was efficient and answered all of my questions. The front staff pulled insurance information and told me what benefits were available. I'm deducting one star because the systems aren't connected from one location to the next, so if you visit a different VisionWorks, you'll need to have paperwork in hand or it can be faxed (gasp). read more

Disappointed with the service. Eye exam was in February and I was told that I would be called when my glasses came in. Never received a call so after 3 weeks, I stopped by and my glasses had been back for at least 2 weeks. After 4 months, the glasses fell apart. I wear contacts so I only wear contacts in the evenings. I went back to the location to replace the frames and the only solution offered was to pay over $450 for the same frames and glasses. I asked about just buying a frame and I was told no. No way, I'm paying that much for the same frame that fell apart. read more

I must say this was a very nice experience. You're greeted as soon as you walk in the door. The doctor who did my eye exam was very friendly and very knowledgeable. I did purchase 2 pairs of glasses and the prices are very reasonable. But gotta say my saleman was incredible. His name was Robert. I think we joked around more than anything. He's like meeting a friend you haven't seen in a while. The manager Tawana also gave me some good tips on the glasses I picked out. The customer service here is top notch. I'm waiting for my glasses to come in. Can't wait. Definitely try this place. read more

Rude service, I brought my glasses in because they are broken, one of the arms came off. I was told there is nothing they can do for me. My husband had a scratch on his lens he was also told it can't be fixed. I asked about a warranty only then did she ask for our names. This place is the worst It took over a month for my glasses. Nobody bothered to called or texted to tell me why. Staff is unprofessional they dress unprofessional you wouldn't know they worked there. I've been to this location a number of times this year. I've had excellent service every time. Dr. Sblendorio is very thorough and explains everything he is doing. Both young men and the young lady who have helped us with glasses were very patient with my two girls, helping them choose the right frames. When my daughter scratched hers they replaced the lenses in about 2 hours (while she was home from college for the day). read more
