I have never had poor vision and been in the world 57 years. All I have ever needed is reading glasses and night driving glasses. What I most despise is that because I did not agree with Dr. Chee she became upset as evidenced by her body language and tone of voice when I questioned her and challenged her about what she explained to me. I think Dr. Chee's attitude should have been one of understanding and compassion since my history of eye care has never been bad. Perhaps Dr. Chee has never had anyone disagree with her or question her about her diagnosis. Her behaviors were that she stormed out of the room we were in and when I was asking for something her tone was sharp and mean towards me. I should mention it was my first time ever seeing this Dr. Chee. Additionally, I pronounced her name wrong when asking a question and was snapped on me as if I did it on purpose. I finally addressed the behavior by saying, "Dr. Chee, do you have an attitude because I do not agree with your diagnosis"? There was no acknowledgment of the behaviors she displayed. Finally, while I respect the profession, I do think that there is a way to give your diagnosis. For example, if you have seen certain aspects about a diagnosis, you cannot assume 'everyone' will have that experience or outcome. And it can be explained in a way that does not promote doom and gloom over a person's life. It's not likely that I will ever return. p.s. I called back to get my PD and it was not provided. Even if I did not get my glasses from them, if it's an essential aspect, I should have been told this or at least be given the opportunity to receive one. Dr. D. Lester

My experience today with the staff and Dr. Qtami was way better than I had anticipated! A customer…read moreservice representative from my insurance company recommended that I give them a try because my prescription is such a high index. She understood my plight with the insurance company covering very little of the cost because of the high index prescription. So, I ventured over and had an eye exam. The eye exam was $59 out of pocket. It would be free if my insurance were accepted at Walmart but apparently not. That was a small price for the great service that I received. Doctor Qtami was very informative and answered questions that I had about cataracts, PVD and other vitreous eye concerns. He is the first optometrist in 3 years to give a helpful prescription for my left eye and not settle for giving a balance prescription that does nothing to strengthen the eye, nor helps with night driving. So, kudos to you Dr. Qtami! How did he do it? In addition to the machine for testing vision he pulled out a classic ocular lense kit and had me hold different strength lenses up with the machine to get better acuity. Better vision is always a 5 start result in my book! Oh, the reception staff was helpful and friendly. No rude snappy comments or sassy looks, just good service! You can take your own frames and get new lenses put in, a practice that is frowned upon when I use my insurance in network locations. So, I was happy to pay out if pocket... Saving almost $100 from using the insurance plan in the past. Dr. Qtami also explained that he did not work for Walmart, rather his business is private practice in a Walmart store, which I did not understand previously. I told him to let need know if he decides to leave. He replied, "I'm not going anywhere, God put me here". From there he shared his story of how he came to this location and his plan to serve the community, beyond expected basic eye care. Again, kudos to you Dr. Qtami!

One can tell the standards are high at this practice, nice selection of frames and everything is reasonably priced. I was quite impressed to see a business run to this level of apparent perfection. Simply excellent! FOLLOW-UP Disappointed that my bifocals where significantly off focus after having an eye exam and prescription a week earlier. Had to return to have the issue rectified. They need to make the lenses another mm deeper and regrind. Also need to return a second time to pick-up the new glasses. Nobody stepped up to the plate to say "we screwed up" or "we are sorry to inconvenience you." That said, I rescind my comments about the high standards. The staff originally added 3 mm of depth to my glasses and I have a strong suspicion it was the cause of the problem. The D.O. confirmed the prescription was accurate after checking my eyes a second time. Bingo! These mistakes should not occur and are avoidable if one knows what the lab will do when making alterations to a lens order. An apology would have gone a long way in this particular case. That said, I still highly recommend Dr. Vroegh for your eye care needs.

I planned my trip around that information, drove out there, and was then told a completely different price in store. When I brought up what I was quoted on the phone, instead of owning the mistake or even offering an apology, the staff tried to turn it around and blame ME for the misunderstanding. Absolutely unacceptable. Nobody took responsibility. Nobody apologized. Nobody made any effort to make it right. I waited, wasted my time, and left with nothing , no glasses, no solution, and no respect. The staff was unprofessional from start to finish, and the attitude I received when I questioned the price difference was beyond rude. I was treated like I was the problem for simply holding them accountable for what their own employee told me over the phone. This location clearly has a communication problem between what they tell customers on the phone and what actually happens in store. And when they get caught in that inconsistency, they'd rather point the finger at the customer than fix it. I ended up taking my business elsewhere and will never return to this location. Based on the other reviews here, I'm clearly not the only one who has had this experience. Do yourself a favor and skip this place entirely.
