We instantly bonded on HOCKEY! She led me into the back where she tested my eyes on three machines and then led me to the exam room. Dr Vince is super cool! So smart when it comes to eyes and educated me on what's specifically going on with mine. Took his time, very detailed and told me how I can try contacts although I have astigmatism - I'm so excited! On Apple Maps it says this place is called "Desert Eye Care" and has the same number as Desert Eye Care. So when I went in thinking it was that, she laughed and said it's never been called that & they're the only ones left there in the mall & all other went out of business. Although the Doctor was pleasant and did get my prescription correct the front staff was a huge disappointment. They are rude to you over the phone and made the mistake of not ordering my contacts before the deadline so I lost my years vision benefits. They collected the copay and exam fees but never ordered them or charged the 80.00 to process the order so I ended up losing the benefits. They never apologized or even seemed empathetic. read more

Front desk staff was so rude. Not all of them, just one girl in particular. Just because I look Hispanic doesn't mean I am, so when you try to speak to me in Spanish and I don't understand, don't get upset at me. I Am Not of hispanic descent. Don't ask me her name because she wasn't wearing anything that had her name on it. She is thick and has an auburn color of hair. She changed her tune when her coworker came back, but I was told later by another customer that they too believed her behavior to be rude. This optometry office also has you sign documents when you first enter the building and before your exam that states you received your eye prescription. How is this not against the law? This lady made it clear they would not see me if I didn't sign the form. I took a photo of the form so I could report this to the BBB and federal trade commission. I have seen mixed reviews about this place, so please be aware before you enter. And stay away from the bully behind the check in desk. I walked out and will not return. read more

With Anxiety Disorder and now Parkinson's Disease, the reality of my 'frame string' popping meant a journey in the extreme heat to Visionworks. After a week of procrastination I ventured out so I could read the paper again without getting grumpy. I arrived and was greeted by the gracious Rosemary who even tolerated my joke about the creepy kids laughing on repeat from a bygone mall amusement ride. I marveled at the patient skill needed to make the repair but even though she told me it would take 30 minutes it took less and she still apologized for how long it took. She is truly an outstanding craftsperson with unmatched customer service skills. read more

Went there for contacts in August, they said they needed to order a pair trial and the doctor said it would be there the following week, wait for 2 weeks and finally called them and they said they called 2 days prior and left a message (nothing). Finally got the pair and the doctor wanted to see me the next week to make sure they work, they didn't and I told her that. I showed her the brand that I had and she was able to get my prescription trial pair, then the receptionist told me that the doctor wanted to see me in a few days for ANOTHER follow up, I got so disgusted and frustrated that I told the receptionist that I do not want to do that and she said she would speak to the doctor to release my order. I come here every 2 years and get 2 new pair of glasses. I went in the other day to schedule an appointment and when I got home I realized it was the same day as my kids dentist appointment. I have now tried calling to reschedule like 8 times but they never pick up the phone and the machine gives you like 7 seconds before it cuts you off. I will not be there. Excellent service and choice of glasses. Picked 2 new pair and lenses for a pair of my own. Juan was my associate and he was amazing.

This store saved my optical-grade sunglasses (no prescription) after I got a tiny scratch in my left lens that was driving me crazy all summer. I couldn't just order the same sunglasses as I bought them in 2012 and they are now discontinued, but I love the color scheme and over-sized frames so much and the new styles don't look well on me. After calling optical stores all around the valley, I got a quote (in store) at the Visionworks at Meadows Mall for $97.50 + tax for new lenses which was a lot less than any other store. They told me about the Boulevard Mall location which is much closer and they are open until 8pm (not sure about Sunday) which was perfect. I worked with the manager, Mark, who was an all around great guy. They have an onsite lab so you can get lenses made in 1 day, but as I didn't want to drive during the day without my sunglasses, I just came back the next day. Unfortunately, the optician who made my new, gradient-tint lenses only tinted them halfway down so when I tried them on the next day, I was seeing through the clear part of the lenses. So, I have to take off 1 star for the inconvenience, but Mark assured me he would make sure they were perfect the next day and they were! He even put my old lenses back in my frames so I'd be able to wear them until the following day. I honestly cannot tell that these lenses are not the originals and the gradient, brown tint looks spot-on (and no annoying scratch). I also got a new hard case and some cleaning supplies thrown in for free. If you have some pricey sunglasses that you absolutely love, don't toss them over a scratch or two. Just take them to Visionworks and you will be good to go for around $105 total unless the price changes or you can get a better deal than I did. read more

I called in advance to see if they took my insurance and good thing it's in network with VSP. Thank God it was covered! My daughter has been complaining about her eyesight so I had to get her in soon. I'm always busy with my schedule so I was glad when they squeezed me in on a same day appointment for the optometrist. As first time clients, there wasn't too much paperwork to fill out and that was a plus! Just one page of personal info/ insurance info and you're done. They scan your insurance card and collect copay if needed, then send you back to get an eye exam right away. My daughter was kind of nervous but the staff were very friendly and helped her get comfortable with the exams. Right after getting her eyes checked, we immediately sat down to discuss coverage for lenses and frames. I thought it was going to cost a lot just like mines did but children are super cheap! I was allowed $150 from my insurance for frames and prescription lenses were completely covered for free. So I decided to buy my daughter 2 frames just Incase she loses/ breaks one and the other can be used as back up. I still can't believe it... 2 frames for a cheap price and both free prescription lenses covered by VSP insurance. I get to pick up my frames in a week too. Still good timing considering it's very close to Christmas Holiday. To all my VSP insurance carriers, check these guys out for deals on frames and prescription lenses! read more

I called to ask if they were the same practice that I had been visiting in this mall since 1995. They would not answer the question till finally, they said that the previous company had "been sold" and that they did not exist anymore. They kept pushing me to let them retrieve my optometrist records to see me despite me making it very clear I wanted to go to the doctors I've been seeing 25+ years. I can not believe that a doctor's office would outright lie about something like this. I found my old optometrist. They did not sell their practice; they have several locations in the valley still. When I asked her how my eye testing went, she answered with her back to me "enjoy your Cataract Surgery ". I went to this location with my wife as a returning customer. A Young female employee met us at the front and explained that only I could enter inside. My wife asked why not her too as she pointed out another couple seated together inside. The assistant stated that the couple was allowed because both parties in the couple were buying glasses. OH I SEE, Covid doesn't spread between paying customers, only non paying people. spread this virus. It isn't about the health, its the money. You lost my business forever. read more

What a great team they have at this location. First off, we were greeted with a smile. Then asked if we were in to purchase or for an exam. They directed us to the exam area. The gal at the exam desk was just as friendly. Since I called ahead she put us to the front of the line and took us to be seen almost immediately. She was courteous and professional the entire time. Then the Dr. Walks in. Very calm, friendly, and welcoming. Completed our exam with care and knowledge. I want to make it a point to tell you that Dr. Kent Helmick was extremely patient with my son. You don't always see medical professionals take the time to give that special attention to kids; unless they are pediatricians. He was just great. Lastly, we were pointed to the sales associate who told us in detail what our insurance was paying for and what our out of pocket expenses would be. She too was patient and knowledgeable. Of all the eye glass and optometry stores I have visited and utilized both in California and Las Vegas, this was the worst. Pandemic was not an excuse. I made an appointment almost a year for a yearly eye exams. I was not expecting the optometrist to mirror my previous eye measurements but I ordered a $250+ lined bifocal with a VSP insurance based on the new prescription. The new eyeglass came but I had difficulty with it, so I had a recheck on my eye measurement. I asked the optometrist to check on last year's prescription because I was not comfortable with the new prescription. He changed the vision readings and so with the new eyeglass to conform with the new prescription. A week later, I requested a copy of my prescription. I have to call and order at the store before I was able to pick it up. When I was at the store to pick it up, the order was not made. I can not recall the name of the person who made the order. I waited because the staff can not find my file . I got a copy of my prescription later and left. To my disappointment, I looked at the prescription and compared it with the latest, it was not the same. I went back and demanded why I was given the old prescription. These inefficient staff did not check which one was the latest. I talked to the staff and was given a hard time getting the latest. These people were clueless on what they are doing. If I was requesting a copy of the prescription, I would not want the old one. But she just copied the old prescription and gave it to me. Stupid! It made me mad and insisted that the copy I was provided was an old prescription. I will never go back to this place. Some staff did not know what they were doing. A simple task they can not do! read more

I am a first time customer of Visionworks. I went in for an eye exam and new glasses. They took my temperature before I entered and saw employees wiping things down while I was there. The paperwork was simple and easy to fill out. While waiting for the exam, there were several people in front of me, I picked out new frames from the pretty large selection. The lady who did the pre-exam wiped everything down before and after use. Dr. Helmick has a very easy personality and is very likable. Alondra helped me with options and told me things about progressive bi-focal that I had been unaware of. She made sure I had all information and pricing. I am fully impressed. read more

So I stopped by last minute to get my eyes checked I told the representative I been having some problems seeing a little blurry, she said oh yes we can get you in and get your eyes checked!! Doctor take a looked he said I have some astigmatism and order a prescription order my glasses .. I got a message your eye glasses are ready for pick up got their so excited, and bam they order them wrong my ones that I really need for work due too the blue light and blurry vision sometimes!!! The manager took some measurements and said we re order them and get you new ones, she advised me let get your eyes measurements again the prescription was off from the original order !!! So far not very impressed second eye doctor made it seem like they were doing me a favor ? When I paid for professional services , their not free !!! I got my yearly eye exam here and wanted to also give contacts a try. At the end of the visit I was told that my trials would be ready in a week and that in three weeks the rest of my contacts would be ready. A week went by and I received no call so I took it upon myself to give them a call and ask for my trials, I went ahead and picked them up a week after my visit and was told by a different receptionist the same thing "your contacts are a special order due to your bad astigmatism so it'll be about 2 more weeks, also when you come to pick them up make sure you're wearing your contacts so the doctor can exam them" it didn't make any sense to me but as I said getting contacts was new to me and being told by two different receptionist the same thing I figured it was the correct information. Three weeks went by, no call again so I went ahead and followed up for myself. Now there is another different receptionist and she's telling me that the information I received was wrong, I actually should have been back a week after getting my trial contacts for the follow up with the doctor and then they would have ordered the rest of the contacts for a three month supply. I told her that two different receptionist had told me the same false information and that I was annoyed at the fact that I have been doing all the follow ups and that no one would ever call me or do their jobs right. So I went ahead and went and made my way to the office, got my contacts checked out by a different doctor and told him the story and he apologized. The receptionist wasn't friendly either, she seemed as if I was bothering her but in reality I was bothered at the unprofessionalism from the staff in the back. How do two different women tell me the same thing? Are they not getting trained right or are they not doing their jobs? So now I've already gotten glasses from somewhere else and my insurance covers $150 for either glasses or contacts. Now I've gotta pay for the contacts out of pocket because of their mistakes. I don't recommend this location, the staff is ridiculous for making me do their jobs for them and as I said the third receptionist had an unfriendly demeanor, was talking to me as if it was my fault and I was bothering her. The optometrist were both okay, I don't think it is their faults but then again I don't know how things are runned in a optometrist office. I am so disappointed because I been to this location a couple of times, but not ever again after this. There really isn't any excuse for any of it, I don't even know if I want to go back to even get my contacts from them and give them my money. read more

Honestly the ONLY reason I'm giving this place 2 stars is bc of how accommodating the glasses side was with my prescription and getting my frames done quickly. However, the optometry side was such a disappointment. I travel often for work, so I came there to get an eye exam for both glasses and contacts. I left with a trial pair of contacts and was told to come back in a week before they would release my prescription for contacts so the doctor could "see how they fit on my eye". Mind you, I've been wearing contacts for AT LEAST 15 years.. Bc I travel for work, I had to leave town and will not be back in Vegas for the remainder of the year. I called to see if they could just email me my contact prescription and was swiftly told no. Not only was I told no "you have no other option but to come back for 5 minutes so the doctor can examine the contact" on my eye.. but the eye doctor wouldn't even speak with me over the phone. The female I spoke with was very unprofessional and rude and I STILL do not have any other option to get my contact prescription THAT I PAID FOR, than coming back to Vegas. I am beyond disappointed and will never go back or refer anyone to this place. Do better. read more

Eternal thanks to Optician Jason L.!!!! I was there last week to get glasses for my niece. She was severely injured and in the hospital, a victim of the recent massacre. He went above and beyond to get exactly what we needed as fast as possible. And after he had done everything I thought could be done, he wrote his cell number on his business card and told me if she needs him to go to the hospital to adjust the glasses he would be glad to do that. Shopping last minute for back to school, my daughter broke her glasses and was walking around with broken glasses. We stopped by at 5:30pm. The store representative was very helpful and assisted us in getting glasses for my daughter. Eventhough they close at 6pm we weren't rushed. The entire process was seamless and Diana was great! I would never recommend this business again. I stopped in to have my glasses adjusted last night. The girl was nice when I walked in, I let her know I just needed my glasses adjusted since my dogs had bumped them and they were now fitting funny. She looked at my glasses and said in a rude tone " We don't sell this brand here, I can adjust them but it is on you" ( I have went there to have my glassed fixed previously with no problem) Then she walks behind the other counter (about 5-7 feet from where I am standing) as she is working on my glasses, I see her making fun of my arms to her co-workers. (I am a size LX and yes I was wearing a sleeveless shirt since it was warm out) I guess that she thought I could not see at all without my glasses on . Then after fixing my glasses she brings them back to me and the nose piece is still a bit off and the piece behind my ear. So she goes behind the other counter again and goes to fix them while rolling her eyes and making a face, like I am annoying her. (Again, I was only about 5-7 feet from her) She brings them back to me again and now the glasses are so loose they are falling off of my face. I finally had to ask if there was a Lenscrafters in the Mall which they pointed me in that direction. I ended up going to Lenscrafters to have my glasses fixed correctly and with better service. I will never go back to this store after the rude service I received last night. read more
